Description

After 4 great years hosting on Sniffspot, we've decided this is our last season. Thanks to every human and pup that has enjoyed our yard over the years! We will close our spot at the end of July. Saturday and Sunday mornings 8:30-11:30 am M-W 8:30 am - 7:30 pm Thurs-Fri 8:30 am - 5 pm Hi! I'm Alyssa, a rescue dog owner with a ~1/3 acre yard perfect for your dog to enjoy! We have a mix of gardens, grass, mulch, and leaf areas great for sniffing and playing fetch and a bin full of fun toys and treats. We have a special basket of small dog toys upon request. We provide cold water for humans, bug spray, and hand sanitizer. We spray our yard every 4 weeks with a cedar oil mix to help reduce mosquitoes, fleas, and ticks. Reactive dog owners should note that our neighbors on both sides have dogs that may or may not be outside during your visit. They are all friendly but will probably bark to say hello or run the fenceline with your dog. (No dogs live in the yard with the chain link which is newly covered). I recommend leaving your dog on a leash to walk the yard perimeter and ensure they're ok with neighbors' dogs. We provide a bucket of extra treats to help with training and distraction. Our girl loves a "sniffari" where you hide treats around the yard to sniff out. ⭐️ Important notes ⭐️ 🐶 All dogs must be FULLY vaccinated (Rabies, Parvo, Bordetella, DHPP, Lepto encouraged) Please do not book unless you are sure your dog has all their shots. Puppies less than 4 months old that are still building up vaccines should stay at home. 🐕‍🦺 Dogs MUST be leashed when entering and exiting the yard. Our neighbor across the street has a few outdoor cats we want to keep safe and our neighbors walk their dogs on the street. 🍃 Please do not let your dog eat or chew any of the plants in the yard. No excessive digging except for the fresh mulch area, and please refill holes. 🌻 Please do not enter the gated garden area on the other side of the house. (There are no birds in the coop right now) Per Sniffspot's rules, no alcohol is allowed, and please no cigarette smoking; vaping is ok. ⏰ Cancellations: You can cancel or reschedule your visit in your dashboard until 2 hours before your visit time after that, it's locked in. 🚩 We reserve the right to ban any guests who break these rules. -Pick up poop, bags available in the bin and by the gate, you can throw bags away in the garbage can outside the fence gate. -Don't allow dogs to dig holes -Make sure the hose is off and put away before you leave -4 cars max per reservation, park in the driveway. -No more than 4 dogs per handler, no more than 6 dogs per reservation. -Bringing friends/partners ok. All dogs must be accounted for in the reservation and up to date on all vaccines.

Hi, I'm Alyssa. I moved to Southside Richmond in September 2021 and adopted my dog Xena (The Warrior Princess) a month later! I work from home as a graphic designer for a non-profit so I'm excited to offer up my yard during the day. I also have a cat, Smalls (from the Sandlot) who might spy on you from a window. Our yard is around .25 acres and fully fenced with a 6ft privacy fence. Only 5 minutes from downtown! We do have a deck (perfect for throwing that ball!) and a patio. We live on a cul-de-sac so parking can be a bit wonky but there are usually spaces available or you’re welcome to pull into our driveway if one of our cars is not there. ***please read*** There’s been a recent disturbance in the lot behind our yard, some developer is cutting down trees and possibly paving a road to a housing unit that has yet to be built. At the moment we’re not sure exactly what is happening but we are gathering more info and will hopefully have a timeline of how long this construction work will be. If your dog is afraid of loud machinery, you may want to reschedule your visit for a Sunday. As of now that seems to be the only day of the week they’re not working back there. We are very sad this is happening near our yard, as part of the reason we bought this house was the privacy we felt in our back yard. Please bare with us as we try to navigate this situation, we will post updates as we get them. We totally understand if you choose to cancel your visit!
