Description

Our yard is fully fenced with tons to sniff, beautiful views, and a nice breeze! There are multiple seating areas to sit and watch your dogs roam. Water bowls, hoses, hand sanitizer, dog bags, and poop scooper are provided by the entrances. BOOKING/AVAILABILITY: Members can book up to 2 weeks in advance. Non-members can book up to 7 days in advance. --------------------------------------- TERRAIN: * This is not a manicured lawn. It's more like off-leash hiking through a field. Just like when hiking, foxtails and dry debris can be present depending on the season. It's recommended to check your dog's nose, ears, and paws after a visit. * You may want to wear thicker-soled shoes as the terrain can be rough or bumpy in some areas due to gophers.

Hazards

Foxtails in some parts of the yard in dry months. Uneven terrain in some areas; watch your step. Coyotes have been more active in the area lately. Owners with very small dogs should exercise caution.

Pros: So much space to explore! The directions were great and the signs made it easy to find. Cons: The ground cover is split with basically 2 options - the area full of foxtails, or an area with weeds/clovers. The issue with the weeds is that they were so full and tall that they hid all of the uneven terrain, so I was worried I would accidentally step in a hole or my dog would get hurt as she ran through the area. We only ended up staying half the time because of this, sadly. I knew from the description of both these things, just didn’t realize how bad they were, in my opinion. They might be better at different times of the year or after some yard upkeep is done. Note, there’s also a neighbor dog that barked at the fence the entire time. Not the owner’s fault, of course, just pointing it out for the reactive dogs.

I'd like to add that we are not able to mow when the ground is wet after rain to prevent the mower getting stuck, so depending on how long we have to wait for the ground to dry, it can grow pretty full. Thanks for understanding.

The size and views are really nice. It’s very clean and close to our home so it makes it convenient which is the most important thing for us.

My dog greatly enjoyed her time at Haley’s “SniffSpot”. The yard was secure and clean, and the directions that were sent prior to our reserved time were very easy to follow. We’ll definitely be back!

Haley gives great directions on how to get to the spot but it still is tricky so give yourself 5 or 10 minutes for getting lost! The spot is a sniffing adventure for the pups. With a lot of areas to investigate, 30 minutes goes by fast!

This Sniffspot has a great open space for your dog and amazing views for the hoomans to enjoy. And Haley is a great host! We happened to arrive a little early, so we got a chance to greet her as she happened to be in the backyard with her pups. Incredibly welcoming, and she also made sure that if we had any questions or concerns that we could easily get in touch with her. Haley's directions on her Sniffspot profile on getting to her yard are spot on. Thanks, Haley! The space was more than enough for our Australian Cattle Dog to play and run (our foster dog). There's a slight slope to the yard, which is great for draining the soil and preventing muddy puddles during this rainy season. But at the same time, the slope is negligible even for a running dog. Good shade available, and there are enough backyard features for a curious dog to sniff around and explore as well. There was a small dog barking at us from the other side of the fence, but that was just for the first minute or two after we arrived. The rest of the hour was incredibly quiet....a plus for our dog-reactive foster dog. One thing, with all the rain in San Diego County this season, I'm guessing foxtails will be out in force this spring/summer. There's a few in this yard, but just be sure to check your pup for stowaway foxtails before getting back in your car.

Three Penny

One acre fully fenced. Rocky and sloped. Watch out for holes caused by squirrels, groundhogs, and rabbits. Not ideal for little dogs. No digging especially at fences. NO SMOKING ON PROPERTY. Water, bowls, toys, and poop bags in black box with yellow lid. Poop scooper and bucket for trash can provided. Please make sure to secure fence when leaving.

	Only one booking is allowed at a time at any spot and there is an enforced 30 min buffer between all bookings to ensure dogs in separate bookings do not meet.
