Ever wanted to take your dog paddleboarding? Well, here is your chance. Lake access is an extra charge. Have a dog who loves the water? Here is your spot. This is a private lake for the residents of the neighborhoods that surround it. It is over 40 feet deep in the middle. Rumors are it is 80 feet deep...Only trolling motors are allowed on the lake so no worries of loud boat motors going by. You will have direct access to the water from my retaining wall. The bottom tier has steps leading into the water for easy access in and out for you and your pup. Don't like a lake? I have other options for water if you prefer. We have a sprinkler pad, a plastic kiddie pool for smaller dogs, and a 4-foot round dog pool that is 12" deep for the medium to larger size dogs. All kinds of water options. Or you can simply enjoy the yard with your dog and watch the water on the lake and all the waterfowl we have to offer. We even have migrating ducks twice a year. We have a family of geese that come by several times a day. You can sit under the shade on the patio with a ceiling fan and a nice sounding water feature fountain and enjoy the breeze. It is typically pretty windy out back even if it seems very still out front. The lake has its own weather it seems. If the wind is very strong the day you book and you want umbrellas or the pop-up kiosk, this may not be an option as they become kites pretty quickly here. It will be determined on a case-by-case basis. Sorry for any inconvenience this might cause. You would be refunded your extra money if that happens. There are human (SM/Lg/XL) and doggie lifejackets (SM/Med) for you to use free of charge. There are two mats for dogs to lay on and two dog cots as well for your pups to use. There are chairs for you to sit in as well. Come and enjoy the tranquility of the lake. Maybe try out paddleboarding with your pup. Please use lifejackets if your pup is not a strong swimmer. If your pup is bigger you will need to bring your own lifejacket. Enjoy a lake experience like no other with your dog. Please do not access the lake or any of the amenities if you did not pay for them.

HOST NOTE

Some toxic plants in the yard, most are behind the garden fencing. This is an actual lake, so there are fish, turtles, freshwater crabs, TONS of birds and snakes, even water moccasins. Please ensure you are being considerate of all the creatures here. There are boats on the lake but only trolling motors are allowed. There are fishermen so there could be hooks that are lost in the lake grass, on logs, etc. There are a LOT of tree stumps close to the shore and about 50-100 feet out. If you are going to let your dog jump off the paddle board then go out further into the middle of the lake. 4' round dog pool5 credits

I need at least an hour notice if you rent this pool as it takes a while to fill it up. It will be filled up fresh upon your arrival. It is 12" deep and the water holds up the sides, so do not let your dog push the sides down or the water will drain out. Better for medium to larger dogs. I suggest renting the kiosk for shade to keep water cool.

Dog bath tub3 credits

Want to go home with a clean dog after swimming in the lake? Rent the dog bathtub comes with dog shampoo. You bring the towels. It has a sprayer that attaches to the hose, but because it is elevated, it saves your back. Id say max 40 lbs in the tub.

Human lake floats2 credits

You can rent either 1-2 LARGE pool noodles or 1-2 float hammocks, just message which one you are wanting. (both in the pics) This will allow you to float out on the lake with your pup.

Inflatable dog dock2 credits

This dog dock is designed for dogs to get in and out of the water safely. It has a sinkable ladder for dogs to climb. It is attached to the paddle board typically the dog paw one is best to rent with this. Please ensure your dog's nails are not sharp. This is inflatable, though sturdy, it could be torn.

Lake use5 credits

If you want access to the lake for you and your pup please add this extra. Otherwise, you will be expected to stay inside the gate at all times.

Large dog float2 credits

This large dog float allows your dog to be wet but float on the water. Not sure the weight limit, I have had both my 25 lb dogs in it and that certainly makes it sink more with more water but stays afloat. Easily for a small or medium dog to float on the lake in. The edges are inflatable, and though tough, please ensure your dogs nails are not sharp.

Paddle Board dog paw design5 credits

My paddle boards are specifically designed for dogs to use. They have rubber grips on top for dog stability. They are very large over 11 feet long and 3 feet wide for extra stability. They have fins underneath so do not drag the paddle boards; they weigh about 25 lbs each. They are inflatable, although built for dogs, please ensure your dog's nails are trimmed and not sharp before renting. A paddle will be provided.

Pop up kiosk5 credits

Pop up kiosk with up to 2 moveable side panels for shade and privacy. There is no shade in the yard except the patio itself. This provides you to be able to rent the pools and keep your dog in the shade.

Small pool2 credits

Small plastic pool, ideal for smaller dogs or just to lay in for medium sized dogs. Will be filled up with water upon arrival. Also great for diggers, my dog likes to dig in this pool.

Teal blue paddle board5 credits

My paddle boards are specifically designed for dogs to use, they have rubber grip tops for stability for dogs. They have fins underneath so do not drag the boards. They are inflatable, so be sure your dogs nails are trimmed and not sharp. The boards are over 11 feet long and 3 feet wide for stability. Paddle included.

Yard umbrellas2 credits

You may rent 1 or 2 yard umbrellas for shade. I will put them out for you and set them up with sandbags to hold in place. Just let me know if you want 1 or 2 out. There is no shade in the yard.

Additional rules

No children allowed on site. Max 2 adults and max 2 dogs per adult (outside of this please email me for permission) No music, please remain respectful of my neighbors. No smoking on site. If you have a male dog, please do not let him mark (pee) on my patio or my furniture. Do not allow your dogs to dig in the yard. Do not allow your dogs to get into the flower beds along the fenceline, there is a small garden fence in front. Keep them out please. There are a few plants that are toxic to dogs in there, so if your dog's eat plants, you might reconsider booking. Again, there is a fence to keep them out, but it can be jumped. The fence is only half privacy and half wrought iron, so if you have a small dog, it could get out of the fence. The neighbors on the left (facing water) have a reactive dog, sometimes two. The fence has metal netting on the wrought iron fence plus there is a small garden fence in front of the bushes to keep the dogs from getting to each other at the fence. If you have aggressive dogs, it probably isn't best for you to rent my yard as I cannot control when the neighbor's dogs are out. Please only park in designated areas. Please do not enter prior to your appointment time and leave on time for safety. You may lock the gate once inside with the eye hook on the inside for your safety. If you are using, and paid for the lake, it is best if you only do so if your dog has recall. The neighbors do not have a fence on the lake side so your dog can get into MANY backyards from the lake and be gone quickly. Furthermore, your dog could attack the neighbor's dogs. When you book "The Back 40" you have access to the original, smaller, The Mannerly Dog Sniffspot, so no one will be using it while you're here! You'll still have your own private dog park, just a bigger one. You will not see us or our dogs. One neighbor has chickens - they are catty-corner to The Back 40, in the rear. They are in a pen and may cluck or crow at times. the yard catty-corner on the other side occasionally has a couple of dogs in it, but it's pretty rare - it could happen though. You might see or hear humans on the other side of the wooden fence that runs the full 300 feet along the side of both Sniffspots. Otherwise, the area is serene and quiet with plenty of squirrels and birds. Sit and rest or play with your dog - either way, we hope you enjoy your visit!
