55Such a wonderful space, lots of natural obstacles. We hosted a 1:1 birthday for 2 rescue pup brothers and they had a great time.
55The space was so fun and beautiful to visit. Also, the fence is really nice and secure. Trisha was an extremely helpful and responsive host when I reached out with a last minute question.
55We had so much fun! Henry was in Heaven and I just loved watching him sprint around, jump over logs, sniff and explore. I did not have to worry since the area was very secure. It was the perfect opportunity to practice recall. We LOVED it! Thank you
55This has become our puppy’s favorite Sniffspot. He loves the woods and all of the obstacles it provides. Perfect for his zoomies and it keeps him entertained for the whole hour. And Trisha (the host) is so nice and super accommodating. We will definitely keep coming back.
55We had a great time roaming around here! Super secure (and pretty) fencing and lots of logs to climb meant both dogs and humans had a ton of fun! 😊
55We had so much fun here. It was nice and quiet and there was plenty of room to run around in.
55This was our first time using a SniffSpot and our dog absolutely loved it. It was so nice watching him have the freedom to run and explore and roam around as much as he wanted. There’s not necessarily a set trail through the woods, but it’s still walkable and he loved having all the obstacles to race around. I think this was the perfect size space to start out with, being it was his first true off-leash experience. He had the best time and spent the entire hour adventuring through the woods. We’ll definitely be back (:
55Thank you so much for sharing your property. The kids had sooo much fun jumping over the logs, chasing the squirrel, and playing hide and seek. Great spot for dogs who prefer to to be away from other animals. The only suggestion would be to put a latch on the inside of the fence. Can't wait to come back. ~Thank you 😊 ~ Gypsea & Wilson 🐾🐾
55Perfect enclosed space for a curious pup. Our dog enjoyed going up and over the branches and shrubbery. Just pay attention as you’re walking because there is alot of fallen branches but other than that, its a safe spot for your dog to roam off leash.
55This spot is great. It is private, clean, large and fully fenced. My dog loved it.

Description

The fencing is very secure here. This spot is over 1+ acres. The middle area is mostly wooded with some semblance of a trail throughout, though its mostly just left in its natural state so you may have to step over some fallen logs while wandering about. It is long and narrow shaped. Each end has a grassy more open area. The whole area stays reletively dry year round due to the tree cover. Not a ton of open grass space for far throwing fetch, but lots of space for dogs to run and explore in a narutal feeling setting, and fetch could be played in the grassy area closest to where you enter as there is a 50+ throwing distance or so there. All of our fencing is 5+ feet tall, just installed this last year so very sturdy. It runs pretty close to the ground so even small dogs should be safe. There is a double wide gate to enter. Please try to do your best to pick up after your own dogs waste. None of our own animals use this space to it remains nice for all who visit. There is no water access here so also please bring your own water and dish for your dog to stay hydrated while they play. There are not usually other dogs visible from this space. A neighbor a few houses down has 2 dogs that are sometimes out but can only be seen through the trees in one 10' linear span of fence along my space. If anyone is walking a dog along the road, they would be visible through the trees from that side of fencing, but again from a distance, and rarely a dog may be out in another fenced area of my property as a couple of my renters who also live here have dogs in other fenced yards so when they are home they may be out. But they dont share a direct fenceline so would never be nose to nose with your dogs. And I will always have my dogs inside if you have booked a day in advance, and will try my best to have them inside if im able during a same day reservation. If you are worried about other dogs because yours are reactive to possibly seeing other dogs nearby and its a same day reservation, please message me ahead of time so I can either make sure there wont be any other dogs around at that time on my property for sure, or let you know a time when that could be the case if its not possible during the time you reserved origionally. Thanks!

Hazards

Since the area is very wooded please watch your footing so you dont trip over roots or stumble on uneven ground. There is a very old pile of building materials like old lumber and scrap metal burried off to the side about 3/4 of your way into the sniff spot so pretty deep in the forrest. It is very overgrown with fallen logs and ubderbrush, but you can see some glimpes of the old items. I have tried my best to make sure this is all safe even if dogs climb up on it, nothing sharp sticking up. I will be cleaning this pile out this summer, but havent gotten around to it yet. Not really a concerning hazard, but you may see it as you walk through exploring so worth mentioning.

Alder trails SniffSpot

Our property is located off the Burn Road in Arlington and is 5 acres, 1 of which is fully fenced and there are about 3+ acres of woods that have a trails throughout that we are constantly trying to add onto. Access to the backyard will be through the double gates on the south side of the house. Access to the trails can be either gate along the back fence. We just ask that you close whichever gate you use upon entrance and exit. The trails currently are just shy of 1/4 of mile looping back to the gates of the fenced in backyard. We do have a seasonal pond in the woods that we plan on trying to expand access too (it’s a work in progress). The fence is 3.5 feet high split rail with chain link very secure, the back portion of fencing is strictly chain link same height but acts as a natural looking wild fence. Dogs can play ball, sniff around, and run off lease in the fenced yard. Dogs with good recall can be off leash on the trails and run throughout. We do have neighbors where our woods end that are mostly fenced but some do not have fencing (which is why recall is needed). There is no delineation between the neighbor to the north’s huge pasture area which would be off limits. Please enjoy yourself and let us know if you have any ideas to add to the property. The pictures were taken during the winter months, the property and trails are so much prettier during the spring through fall months. Thank you for stopping by.k

Hike up the mini forest

Our property is shy of 12 acres, 9+ acres of which we're sharing as a private off leash dog space or Sniffspot. The entrance is over the bridge where the creek is and 'From Creek to Back of Property' is all yours to explore. You may unleash your doggies right after the bridge and chain the gate if you want. Dogs might run down the creek for a splash or drink. Continue on to our family campground, there are picnic tables you could use. Then, up the hill you go to 'hike up the mini forest', free to roam around, listen to the birds, squirrels and other critters and sounds that nature brings you. You'll find seating areas while your dogs are at play, feel free to use them. Enjoy a picnic with your loved ones if you're up for it on one of the cabin porches or covered / uncovered picnic tables. The back of property behind fence is DNR land, so rest assured you’re on your own private little world with your furry buddies. The mini forest has some large walking paths and smaller trails scattered about, also some open meadows and is at a peaceful wooded setting. This is where I go to unwind and relieve my head of stress and worries. It’s my place of meditation, while my dogs sniff and romp around like crazy, do their zoomies and play hide n seek! *If you want to save a little bit of moolah, I offer membership. Forget about the gym, you'll get your exercise here with your dogs. If you are a member of my sniffspot, or have older dog/s and would like to drive below or up the hill to park so the fur buddy don't get exhausted, message me.* Some of you have asked about the cabins.
