Description

Our property is shy of 12 acres, 9+ acres of which we're sharing as a private off leash dog space or Sniffspot. The entrance is over the bridge where the creek is and 'From Creek to Back of Property' is all yours to explore. You may unleash your doggies right after the bridge and chain the gate if you want. Dogs might run down the creek for a splash or drink. Continue on to our family campground, there are picnic tables you could use, enjoy a picnic with your loved ones if you're up for it. Then, up the hill you go to 'hike up the mini forest', free to roam around, listen to the birds, squirrels and other critters and sounds that nature brings you. You'll find seating areas while your dogs are at play, feel free to use them. The back of property behind fence is DNR land, so rest assured you’re on your own private little world with your furry buddies. The mini forest has some large walking paths and smaller trails scattered about, also some open meadows and is at a peaceful wooded setting. This is where I go to unwind and relieve my head of stress and worries. It’s my place of meditation, while my dogs sniff and romp around like crazy, do their zoomies and play hide n seek! *If you want to save a little bit of moolah, I offer membership. Forget about the gym, you'll get your exercise here with your dogs. If you are a member of my sniffspot, or have older dog/s and would like to drive below or up the hill to park so the fur buddy don't get exhausted, message me.* Some of you have asked about the cabins. Sniffspot is unavailable if Cabins are booked or vice versa. Booking is through Hipcamp (www.hipcamp.com). Name of listing: 'Grace E.'s Mini Forest Cabins'. Check it out by copying and pasting link below to browser or search listing through the hipcamp site. https://www.hipcamp.com/en-US/land/washington-grace-e-s-mini-forest-ex9hrrp8?shareid=1ddvuyvr3yh Anyway, hope you too will enjoy your little hike up our mini forest..

Hazards

Wear hiking boots, rain or dirty boots. Bear in mind that you’re in the country out in the woods, we have goats & when it rains watch out for muddy areas. Depending on the time of the day and season, bugs may be present, bring bug spray or use ours by the gate. When it gets windy, watch out for falling branches, limbs and twigs from old trees. There is also a section where we stack metal piles to be disposed off later, please pardon that eyesore. Occasionally, again, since you're in the country, by the mountains, our neighbor would once in a while do target practice or do some annoyingly loud shooting towards the DNR, you might also hear fireworks, even logging noise at times. :(

Additional rules

Please message me if you DON’T see a Welcome sign by the gate, that might mean you’re not booked because of a glitch in the app you’re not aware of, so we might be in the sniffspot area. Please keep dogs leashed until after bridge. Don't let dogs dig please. After use of the outhouse, make sure to please put down the bowl and toilet paper lids (so as not to attract rodents), turn off the light, and latch the door. You may visit my goats & feed them. They love apples and bread. If doggos happen to escape back to the front (not sniffspot area), no worries, it's all fenced in. It is with utmost importance to take heed and familiarize yourself with the Community Safety Rules below.. only then can you let your dogs be dogs, be set free & let the fluff balls sniff away! So Now.. Go Book & Enjoy! :)

Once again, the pups came home happy and exhausted. It was a gorgeous day to be running in the woods.

This was our first time renting out a sniff spot and it was great! I highly recommend this location.

  • Rebecca S., Feb 18, 2024

We really enjoyed our visit at this Sniff Spot. The dogs had a good time romping around the trails and trees. Bonus was the creek running through the site where the dogs could cool off and get a drink. Especially appreciated the picnic tables where we could take a rest and drink some water. Would definitely recommend this Sniff Spot!

As always, just the best spot around! Our three dogs just have the best time. It's so nice to be able to relax and worry about running into other people or dogs, as two of our dogs are reactiv Thanks again, Grace!

Bison and Peaches, my 2 English Shepherds along with hubby, Brian & myself enjoy hiking up our little hill, mini forest out back & sometimes with our goats. They’ll all be locked up when you come visit so don’t worry. I found out about Sniffspot through Facebook. I saw a video of a couple talking about Sniffspot & I said... oh, i like that idea! So here I am doing the same thing & so far loving it. I love it especially when I see the faces of the parents & their 4 legged babies after the visit, tired, maybe dirty, but happy!

Our property is located off the Burn Road in Arlington and is 5 acres, 1 of which is fully fenced and there are about 3+ acres of woods that have a trails throughout that we are constantly trying to add onto. Access to the backyard will be through the double gates on the south side of the house. Access to the trails can be either gate along the back fence. We just ask that you close whichever gate you use upon entrance and exit. The trails currently are just shy of 1/4 of mile looping back to the gates of the fenced in backyard. We do have a seasonal pond in the woods that we plan on trying to expand access too (it’s a work in progress). The fence is 3.5 feet high split rail with chain link very secure, the back portion of fencing is strictly chain link same height but acts as a natural looking wild fence. Dogs can play ball, sniff around, and run off lease in the fenced yard. Dogs with good recall can be off leash on the trails and run throughout. We do have neighbors where our woods end that are mostly fenced but some do not have fencing (which is why recall is needed). There is no delineation between the neighbor to the north’s huge pasture area which would be off limits. Please enjoy yourself and let us know if you have any ideas to add to the property. The pictures were taken during the winter months, the property and trails are so much prettier during the spring through fall months. Thank you for stopping by.k

Woodland Tranquility Pathways - find solitude!

Off-grid Sniffspot location in rural Snohomish Washington! You will have the entire 5-acre property to yourself to enjoy! This part of our property is only used for Sniffspot guests. Would be perfect for those that don’t want to interact with others (i.e. cars driving by, strangers, the neighbors... ‘chatty hosts/property owners’😉). Safe place for adventurous individuals that prefer to explore alone with their doggo(s), a doggie daycare retreat, a memorable late evening of star-gazing, or a safe place for a highly reactive dog to have fun. Details: 5 acres, off-grid experience (no power or running water) with it’s own private entrance. Two grassy sloping yard areas with “Tranquility Trails” that loop up the hill. Secluded, native woodland with mowed grass. There are (overgrown) cottage style gardens. During your visit, feel free to pick blueberries, wild blackberries, apples or roses — or pull weeds — if that’s fun for you. 😉. This location is very relaxing. Plan for a couple hours or more to enjoy the quiet, rural lifestyle. TIP: if you have any concerns about your pup(s) going down the driveway, feel free to close the gate for added safety. Note: We are raising money to renovate the cottage located on the property by hosting a Sniffspot. Please do not explore inside the house, a roof collapse could happen before we can arrange for it to be replaced.
