55What an adorable and whimsical Space! Everything was so thoughtful. From the cute welcome sign, to the toys, treats, and water for Cherry to the hand sanitizer snd bug repellant left for the humans. The space was large and shaded and had more than enough room to roam and run and play. 10 out of 10!

“While we do not have chickens, our neighbors do. They are usually in their coop, but occasionally roam on their property right behind our fence. This may be a trigger for your loved one, so please plan accordingly. I may let my dogs out for a potty break in my primary backyard which is separate from the barnyard you will have access to, but I will have them leashed to give you full privacy.”

“While our road is generally quiet, there are the occasional dog walkers/walkers/joggers due to the scenic nature of the area. Please note: if you make a reservation for Tuesdays at 10am, our generator will do a test run for 5 minutes (10-10:05) in our primary backyard- just didn’t want it to scare you! Also- our neighbors sporadically have grass cutting crews for their large field behind our spot. I wouldn’t know when that is, but if this happens during your visit, please let me know and I’m happy to offer a coupon for your next visit for the disruption. If your dogs are disrupted completely by their presence and you need to leave, I would be happy to offer a full refund and hope you return another time to have a great visit!”

You may park in the gravel driveway closest to the barn. Please make sure the gates are ALWAYS latched, coming and going- if gold gate latch is difficult to open, pull gate towards you first, then unlatch. You will have access to our barnyard which is sectioned off from our primary backyard by a large gate.

Description

Allow your furry friends to experience history at our beautiful half-acre sanctuary! You will be surrounded by a variety of trees, foliage, and flowers (our Rose of Sharons are still in bloom as of September 1st!) Our spot features full paddock fencing secured by vinyl livestock so you can be confident that your dog will be safe while getting their energy out. As for you, enjoy being in the company of our barn circa 1840, which was featured in a local Western film in the 1970s. We have outdoor furniture for you to take it all in as you immerse yourself in the wonders of Silverton Road’s most charming home! If you’re lucky, you may just see some of our neighborhood’s beloved deer or chickens grazing in the field behind our property. When you’re done enjoying our property, be sure to visit Silverton Farms right down the road for fresh organic produce, eggs, honey and flowers. We hope you enjoy our property as much as our dogs Blu and Auggie do! Please note- we are a heavily wooded yard and as such, be sure to check you and your pups for ticks! Also just an update: upon entering our barnyard (make a left after you enter the first gate) you will see where a large tree stump has been ground down- we lost our wonderful Black Cherry tree in a recent storm. As of 6/26, we have reseeded that area so please don’t mind the progress :) One more quick note: Because our sanctuary is so well-loved by our local pups, the grass can experience some "wear and tear" during the peak summer months. While some areas may look a bit sandy or thin due to high traffic, please know we will be reseeding these spots to ensure it returns to its full, lush state. We appreciate your understanding as we keep our yard looking its best for every visitor!
