Open Yard and Pup Run in Boone, NC

Our dogs want to share their yard with yours! This is a long fenced yard great for running, playing, frisbee, or just sitting in the sun. Used by our dogs, but they will be put away or at daycare when yours are here. Homeowner will be present when yard is in use, but the yard space will be all yours.

Slys Peace Trail

Located in the foothills, the Slys Peace trail was created for dog stimulation. The trail starts at the lower end of the pasture and follows the creek meandering through a rhododendron forest. Situated at the base of 100 acres of wooded ridge land, the hike offers a wilderness experience customized to your comfort zone. There are multiple trails to accommodate your level of exercise. The full experience will require crossing the creek multiple times and is recommended for those with hiking experience. Trails are easy to follow with multiple exits that lead out to the pasture. This is dog heaven. Let your dog be a dog. To locate the gate entrance watch for the Giant metal horse. His nose points the way. Follow the fenceline a few hundred feet where you will find the gate just before the power line easement. There is now a large Sniff Spot sign securely attached.

The Old Goats Farm

Several fenced in spaces, depending on needs of your pet. We have some farm animals thate are safely fenced in seperate areas, but able to meet through the fence! They include: Goats, Donkey, Pig, Geese, Ducks, Chickens, Cats, and occasionally a chicken or three!

Deer Trails at Stone Mountain Unfenced Private Dog Park In Hays

Come and enjoy peace and serenity in the gorgeous Blue Ridge Mountains. A true private and remote experience. A rare gem in today’s society and one that has to be experienced to truly appreciate the awe and wonder Mother Nature has to share. A breathtaking and revitalizing take on the mountains. Stone Mountain State Park and New River State Park are minutes away. The Cedar Ridge and Flat Rock Ridge Trailheads are 5 minutes from the site which lead to the Basin Creek Trail, part of Doughton Recreation Area. There are several wineries in the area, including Roaring River Vineyards within 15 minutes. This area is also home to the Blue Ridge Parkway, a short 20 minute drive. Wilkesboro, Sparta, and Elkin are within 30-40 minutes and offer lots of excellent restaurants, breweries, and fun things to explore. Several local golf courses are close by. Boone and Blowing Rock are about an hour from this location. Cell service is non-existent at the site but available at the main entrance. Wi-Fi is available for an additional charge; hi-speed and reliable for streaming and/or working remote.

Crouching Hippo Farm - Dog Park

A large enclosed area on an organic vegetable farm. I built this fire my dogs but am happy to share. Your dog can have the run of the place or I can add one or two of my friendly hounds to play with. Stay for a few minutes or a few days.

Silent H Acres In Morganton

Silent H Acres is almost an acre fenced spot for your dog to go sniffing, running, fetching, and discovering. There are toys to play with (frisbees, tug rope, tennis balls, etc) and sticks to fetch. The grass ranges from 2” mowed, to 4” natural, up to about 12+ inches. A smattering of trees and two sitting areas for you - the gray Adirondack chairs are a bit too heavy to move, but feel free to move the red ones anywhere you would like. ***We will be adding a couple of agility exercise areas for your dog in the next few days. Toward the front of the field, I have mowed a curvy type of track in case you want to work on guided leash training. For you, we will keep a track around the perimeter of the fence mowed so you can use it for a walking track. PLEASE NOTE, the electric fence is DISCONNECTED. Watauga Humane Society Fenced Space - Play for a Good Cause!

Not every dog loves the dog park — and that’s okay! If Arko Dog Park isn’t the right fit, try a private play session in the WHS Sniffspot area. Nestled near our trails, this wide-open space is perfect for dogs who prefer room to run, sniff, and explore on their own. With gratitude to Mountain Fence and Deck for enclosing the space, this area was once the yard for our Diamond Dog program, where dogs practiced their manners while living in a home-like setting on campus. Even better, your dog’s play helps support the lifesaving mission of Watauga Humane Society.
