55As always, we had a lovely time! We've been 3-4x and still haven't covered the entire property, and we extend our stay every single time. Quick responses with any questions I have and something added/new improvements each time we go. Grateful for the opportunity to have something like this close by for the kiddos to run and not having to worry about a thing.
25Very overgrown, and trails hard to locate/follow. Owner said their tractor had been down, so the overgrowth is understandable, maybe just close during the times you’re unable to maintain the property. Dogs are absolutely COVERED in seed ticks. Property is beautiful however and has a ton of potential. Hopefully in the future it can live up to that potential
55Even better than the first time. The pictures do no justice. I wish I could upload all of the beautiful videos, especially the panoramic views. It's breathtaking. It's one of my dogs' birthday today, and we haven't been to a sniff spot in probably 2 months. I reached out to the owner and received a response immediately. I'm glad I did because I was walking the pups and scheduled to be there an hour later and I'm 40 minutes away. Too hot to walk them in the neighborhood. This is the best spot around! Otherwise, I'd have to drive to Dittmer, Missouri. The pond is beautiful! It's out in the middle of NOwhere, so I don't have to worry about any roads even remotely nearby. It's quite simple once you get there. You'll see the tires that mark the parking spot with a huge sign that says "Park Here" to your left. Just keep driving down the driveway and you'll run right into it. Once you park, start walking down the driveway more and you'll see your first Sniff Spot sign to your right (in pics with bug spray, etc). It's basically a path circling the large pond with a few other little shady areas along the sides. There are 2 benches, one on each side of the pond. Plenty of tall grass along the edges and a mowed down path. We like the best of both worlds! I like that I don't have to worry about them even when they're out of sight. I believe I've extended my stay both times that I've been here and will be back for plenty more! I didn't even use the map that the owner probably worked so hard on because it's pretty cut and dry. Love that there are tons of shaded areas in the summer along with somewhere to swim almost the entire way. You can basically come here year round. Wonderful host! She is very kind , and she wanted to make sure I understood where to park, where I was going, asked for feedback, Etc. Very pleased. I did hear dogs near the parking area but from very, very far away and I could tell they were confined by the sound of their barking. I don't think I saw one piece of garbage on my entire visit either time. Extremely clean.

“We have 4 dogs which for the most part haven’t stirred or barked when we have had Sniffspot visitors. We keep them inside for your entire visit! I believe there are some dogs a distance away behind us and our neighbor down the road has done outdoor dogs. But for the most part, things are pretty quiet. Lots of bird sounds for sure.”

Our driveway is gravel. On the right side of the road as you pull in is our property and on the left is our neighbors who just built a white barn building and a black and White House. Our new home under construction is about 1/4 mile down and slightly visible from the road. Just past the green storage container you’ll clearly see a big sign where to park. At that point, you’re on the southern property line. You continue down the gravel road on foot and enter the trails to the right where sign is indicated. I will share a custom AllTrails map with you upon reservation. We are continually upgrading trails to make things clean, safe and comfortable. Based on comments and reviews we have added more signs and now have two benches installed.

Description

Come take a nature hike on groomed, well-marked trails with your furry friend(s). Enjoy watching them run off leash and explore while you take in the sights and sounds of rural Winfield Missouri. Please park in designated area 1/4 mile of Highway Y on private gravel road. After you park near the “sniff spot” sign, you will be directed to grab a trail map (or I will message one to you) that will lead you on one of your choice of trails that will each take you full circle around the property. In the future, each will have a full description of approximate length and time to complete. Enjoy! EDIT: if you visit just before mow week, you may find the grounds not so “groomed”. We try to always have the trails cleared but the rest of the 50 acres only gets mowed once a month and it takes 4 days to complete. If it’s important to you to have it freshly “groomed” let me know and we can arrange for your visit just after our cleanup week. I do reach out to visitors to let them know the status of our grounds ie muddy, etc.

We have a 1.5 acre lake under construction to be a 5.5 acre lake. The heavy equipment is stirring up a lot on the shore line and making things a little mucky. Our dogs love to play in that muck and chase frogs and other little things. We just installed our first bench for you to sit and watch them play!!! Just make sure and bring some extra towels to dry the. And protect your car on the ride home. Doggie bags are provided at the map/parking location which is a short drive down a shared gravel road past the green storage container. Please retrieve any excrement left on the trail where others may step in it. Feel free to tie off and leave for pick up or take with you. In the near future, we will install poop centers with all the amenities. Our lake expansion is complete but we are still working on the shorline and cleaning up wood debris. Please watch out for random logs or rocks on walkways and watch your step at all times as the ground can be uneven. We have dogs that will be contained. Not seen or heard. We ask all humans to stay on trails and keep furry friends in view at all times.

My husband and I purchased this property to build our forever home- still under construction. We have 4 dogs - 2 large and 2 small. They all love to roam the property and it gives us great joy. From the city, we recognize the need for our furry friends to have the freedom and enjoy running off-leash so when we discovered this opportunity to help those wanting to give their dogs some joy, we were happy to do it. Please bear in mind, this is a work in progress and we will be investing back into our trails any monies received to make this a wonderful place to take your pet.
