45The dogs had a blast running through the woods but I only gave 4 stars today because there was a dog running loose that freaked mine out some and also the river is very high—there’s no beach at all so if your dog is running down the path to the river like mine was, they may end up in the river before they know it. If you go this week, I advise leashing your dogs as you get close to the river. Its very swift and dangerous.
55Super fun. The detailed instructions were very helpful. Lots of dead fish by the river, which was of great interest to my pup. Keep in mind that it's a 10-15 min walk to the river if you park at the beginning of the field.
55Fun spot for dogs to run and play by the river. There was more on-leash time than expected, but worth it! Will be back for sure.
55Love, love, love this spot! It is so incredibly beautiful and offers not only a beautiful river and forest, but also a delightful walk along a pasture. We did drive up to a spot where there was a big dip in the road and thought that was as far as we were to go. With the rains, the dirt road portion was pretty muddy and my car was sliding considerably despite having AWD and all terrain tires. I think next time we will park by the barn and enjoy our walk towards the river. There were folks fishing quite a ways downstream with a pup, however, my very reactive dog didn’t even see or care about them. Host was kind, and provided me with a detailed map, which was very helpful. We look forward to placing this gorgeous spot in our rotation, and visiting again and again.
55This place is beautiful and so expansive. My pup and her friends loved it! The woods are far from the entrance, so those who do not drive down may spend a while with leashed pups. But I say it's worth it!
55Love the Ranch, my pups always have so much fun exploring and playing.
55Amazing spot, would love to make this a regular visit! Our dogs love water so it was great to get one in before the cold hits!
55Another fantastic day at the ranch for Ziba and Maggie. Lots and lots of running, dead salmon to roll in (I regret allowing that now that we’re home), eagles overhead, and a shallow river to explore.
55We love this spot. Its absolutely gorgeous. nice and secluded. FYI, It takes about 10-15 min to get to the river once you park, so plan on factoring in a few extra minutes to your stay.
55We had an amazing time! Our dogs just loved playing in the river and walking along the river bank. We even saw several fish jumping out of the water, which really intrigued my dogs. It was awesome to be able to visit a spot like this and have the whole side of the river to yourself. Thanks for sharing your space. 🥰

Description

ATTENTION!!!! THE RANCH HAS BEEN SOLD!!!! MY MOM PASSED AWAY LAST OCTOBER 2022 WE SOLD THE RANCH SO THIS SITE IS PERMANENTLY CLOSED!!! THANK YOU FOR YOUR PATRONAGE. 🙏🏽 NOTE: due to the size of this sniff spot, we have a 2 hour minimum booking, so please make sure to book at least 2 hours. Thank you! Once a prospering beef cattle ranch, this beautiful farm has been transformed into a plush landscape of green pastures spreading as far as the eye can see. Just 30 minutes from Seattle, the working farm at its highlight supported a family of seven kids! The fire pit has had many a campfire songs sung around it while the salmon caught in the bordering Skykomish River is smoking in the brick smoker or BBQ'ing on the grill. We have 175 acres, but please let your dog run in the wooded area by the Skykomish river. Our land is not fenced, but the area you will let your dog run in is very far from the edge of the property.

Cleanliness

98% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

Because you’re venturing down in the woods please be aware that there may be wild life you will encounter along your way such as coyotes, deer, elks, bobcats, bears, as well as small wildlife such as geese and ducks and bunny rabbits. Please do not allow you Dog’s to chase them as they are protected here! Also, during fall and winter time it can get quite muddy and the river can flood sometimes. So watch for rising river waters and getting your vehicle or yourself muddy or stuck in the mud.

Corinne's Barkley Park, 1 Fully Fenced Private Dog Park on over 5 acres of quiet countryside in Lake Stevens

Enjoy our quiet rural setting on our 5+ acres with our fully fenced 1 acre play area for your dogs. Our beautiful very scenic Barkley Park sits on over 5 acres. A little over an acre is securely and newly fenced for your dogs to free run. Our large acreage is open for you to explore and walk as well. Enjoy different places to sit and take in the landscape and open spaces of nature while your dogs gets to play and exercise. A lovely place for a picnic. Our park has both sunny areas, and shady areas at all times of the day. Fetch on a few different long, and large lawns that are non fenced that are for Zone Fetching off leash, for those that are in full control of the friendly dogs. We are off the road and a safe quiet private property. No mud ever, all of our property drains properly and is well maintained. We have plenty of parking, our setting is very private above large homestead acreage quiet farmland fields of the Schwarzmiller River Valley, Barkley Park is just 3 miles from old town Lake Stevens. If you choose to be adventurous you may choose to visit the forest area behind the fenced area. It’s a steep hill up with natural woodland ground, lots of ferns, beautiful nature untouched. Old trails exist, we have not cleared them in recent years. We have running water with a hose for your convenience at our pump house. If interested in professional pet photography. Inquire with us for details. Portrait sessions are offered on our location. As well as European Organic Wild Antique Sourdough and artisan bread loaves. Organic Dog treats of the same recipe are available to purchase. Some weekends we have a bakery table of Organic European Sourdough loaves, baguettes, fresh scones, cookies, picnic lunch sandwiches, and of course pup treats. A message in as advanced and we can have your lunch, loaves, or scones ready at your arrival to not slow you down. Just give us a heads up if you would like to indulge and custom order a lunch. You may often see myself, my husband and my mother enjoying the house yard, and patio, working on the property and gardens, area around our homes. An occasional family member might stop by our house unannounced, and deliveries might occur. We live above a farm who takes care of their fields so you may hear mowing in the distance in the valley we set above. We also have 2 very large friendly cats. Please be careful with your dogs if you see an occasional cat. Please leash your dog/dogs upon arrival until you become aware of the setting. Enjoy!
