55What a beautiful property! The three distinct elements of a pond accompanied by a small dock, an open, well-maintained lawn/field area, and shaded walking trails through the woods provided plenty of opportunities for a variety of fun and stimulating activities with the pup! We did everything from training exercises, to vigorous games of tug, to exploratory trail walks with plenty of sniffing, and whenever we needed to we dipped our feet (or in the pup's case, his whole body) in the pond to cool off. The pond and the lawn/field area are in full view of the host's home and the host was present at the time of our use, and yet somehow the way in which the property has been thoughtfully laid out, combined with the graciousness of the host, our visit felt very private and very comfortable. While it is an unfenced Sniffspot, and both neighbours and the road are either visible or can be heard from certain parts of it, the property is laid out and maintained in such a way that uses the landscape and plant life to form natural barriers that both discourage a pup who may be inclined to wander and gives a sense of complete seclusion from the rest of the world. The details such as the provision of poop bags, a garbage disposal for dog droppings, tennis balls for a fun game of fetch, an out house, and even bug spray were such a nice touch. It made us feel immediately that we were welcome. Speaking of bug spray, on our particular visit the woods were very buggy, so do take the necessary precautions to protect your pups. Again, the host goes to the extent of actually providing bug spray for dog owners (in our case we had no need as we had brought our own), so don't let the bugs stop you from wandering into the woods. This Sniffspot is a gem, and worth braving some mosquitoes.

Late August walk on a cool sunny morning and no bugs (love this time of year). Dogs had a blast exploring the bush while I enjoyed the well maintained trails. Our hour flew by. Wildlife such as deer, raccoons, wild turkey, grouse, large variety of birds, frogs, toads, snakes, fish, ducks, geese, can often be spotted. Theres a marsh in the back of property to swim in, run on the long grass and explore. Large clean spring fed swimming pond with different depths for the brave and not so brave. Separate guest parking area with access to various amenities. Your host is a friendly, animal loving person that will work to give you the best experience possible. Located between Fergus and Arthur.
