Re-Opening - 16th October Lulu and Tuktuk’s Alfriston Dog Park Our favourite dog park deserves another chapter 🐾 Hi, we’re Matt and Lexi, the humans behind Lulu and Tuktuk! We’ve spent countless hours here watching our dogs run, explore, swim and enjoy being dogs. When we heard this incredible spot was closing, we couldn’t imagine losing it. We’ve done everything we can to secure the property, with the goal of continuing the dog park and making improvements along the way. We want to preserve everything that makes it special while giving it some extra love and attention. The existing five-acre dog area offers open space to run, a mix of long and short grass to sniff through, native trees, shaded spots and benches where you can relax while your dogs explore. There’s a creek for water-loving dogs, plus a shallow water and mud play area. Whether your dog loves zoomies, sniffing adventures or getting wonderfully muddy, there’s plenty to enjoy. We’re excited about the next chapter for this much-loved spot and look forward to sharing updates as our plans come together. HOST NOTE

Hazards to be aware of Creek and steep banks: The creek is deep in places, with steep banks and drops along some sections. Please supervise your dogs and children closely around the water. Fencing: The park has farm wire fencing with mesh, but the creek boundary is unfenced and there are gaps in some sections. It isn’t fully enclosed. If your dog has poor recall, is a strong swimmer or may squeeze through gaps, please use a long lead. Peacocks: Wild peacocks live in the surrounding trees and occasionally wander through the park. Please keep your dogs from chasing or disturbing them. Neighbouring livestock: Cows may be grazing across the creek in neighbouring paddocks. Please be mindful if your dog likes to chase livestock, particularly if they’re a strong swimmer. Uneven ground and mud: This is a natural rural space, so expect uneven ground, slippery creek banks and muddy patches, especially after rain. Wear suitable footwear and bring a towel for your dog’s trip home!

A great location for both owners and dogs to unwind, featuring a creek bordered by native trees that have stood for centuries. Park benches are scattered throughout, offering plenty of spots to sit back, relax, and enjoy the peaceful surroundings. The space features two different water areas and a mix of long and short grass giving dogs plenty of opportunities to explore and play. The main creek has water all year round and is ideal for dogs that love to swim. There is also a new shallow water and mud play area that has recently been dug out, perfect for dogs that aren’t confident swimming in the main creek or for those that simply enjoy playing in the mud! This area is still a work in progress and will continue to be developed over time. Notes for Guests: ● The bank alongside the creek has several steep slopes leading down to the water, so please exercise caution if you have children with you. ● Winter months mean mud! Tucked away from busy suburbia your dog will get to fully unwind & breath in the country air while exploring our expansive 15acre farm. Swimming in the big river, paddling in the smaller streams & puddles, running free in a natural environment & taking in new smells. We have benches for you to sit on & unwind while watching your dog happily bounce around. As we are a farm our paddocks change from time to time & occasionally you might get to meet our friendly goats & cows or see our sheep grazing the nearby paddocks. Our paddocks and exterior fences are deer fencing. Our farm offers gentle contour, wide open spaces, long grass to bounce in, tons of exciting smells & is fully deer fenced for safety. A hose is available to clean your dog off after their adventure at the front of the stables (dogs will need to be leashed, please let us know so we can turn water on for you), gated entry with a dog waste bin in each paddock. Note - you will still need some control of your dogs as the area is very large. PLEASE ONLY STAY IN PADDOCKS COLOURED YELLOW, ORANGE & BLACK. DO NOT ACCESS OTHER PADDOCKS - a map will be provided upon booking so please keep an eye out for it in your emails/messages. Walk through the native bush where wood pigeons and tui fly. Native ferns frame the creeks running through the bush. There are plenty of picnic spots under large Totara trees where you can sit and watch your dog have a swim in the pond. On your journey you will see cattle, geese, ducks, turkeys, pukako, rabbits and native birds, and carp in the pond. The entire time will be for you and your dog as each session is pre booked for a specific time slot. We have 3 spoilt dogs which will be indoors for your visit and aviaries with parrots which will hear as you drive past the house up the farm track to commence your journey.
