Front of the property has 5 foot chainlink fencing and is fully secured from the road. Side of the property is mostly bush, so not easy to escape from. Supervision is required.

22+ acre property with 20 acres that is fully/securely fenced. The front half is field, the back is forested and has maintained trails throughout. Covered seating (in the field & woods), portapotty, yard hose on site, see 'amentities' for a full list of features. There are seasonal streams and ponds in the woods with foot bridges and woodchips that keep mud to a minimum on many of the trails. Plenty of high/dry areas in the field and woods but also low spots - expect puddles, mud holes, areas of standing water (and a wet/dirty dog), especially during/after rain. Appropriate outerwear, traction footwear (hiking/muck boots etc), towels recommended. Reservations can be made up to 30 days in advance. Some days fill fast but plans can change & bookings get modified/canceled (2+hrs beforehand) - check back for an opening if interested. Off West Pole Road, there’s a little lane next to a DeWildes nursery field. Our front field has a hidden gate (see pictures!) that will let you into our fully fenced front field. The grass is field grass and a little more rough and uneven than a yard lawn, i.e. diggers welcome!!

Welcome to the Cedar Star Ranch. The dog park is located on our 10 acre property. The property is host to 2 Airbnb homes, event venue, and a campground. The dog park is located at the back of the property away from the other guests. The area has a covered area with a table, chairs, water and dog bowls. The area is wooded with lots of bushes. The perimeter is cleared as well as a trail through the middle of the area. This is a new spot and we are continually working to make it better while still allowing guests to come enjoy the space. It can be a bit muddy after it rains. The real muddy spots have wood chips to keep from being to bad.

WEATHER ALERT: If you are checking the weather online check the Ferndale (98248) weather. The Bellingham weather stops at the Smith Road. My prevailing wind is from the South BUT I do get the cold NE wind from Canada. NOTE: This is an acreage area which formerly held dog events; barn hunt, earth dog, carting, rally, obedience, tracking and nose work. The off leash area was set up for the dogs to have a place to run and play safely away from the other dogs when not working. This is all sandy loam so no standing water even when it rains. There is a water faucet down by the smaller barn (west side). You are welcome to fill your dog's bowls. Just be sure you turn the water off after. I have put some folding chairs just inside the big door of the barn. You are welcome to use them. I have also put a shovel out there so you can fill in any holes your dog digs. It is important you put balls back in the crate, they do not do well under the mower (the mower doesn't like it either. Please fill in any large holes your dog digs, so my mower doesn't bog down in one. if you want a bit more room to run your dogs, you may close the 2 big gates and let your dog run in the "parking area". It is all fully fenced. Be aware, the big gate into the back pasture does have a gap under it. THE BACK PASTURE IS OFF LIMITS THERE IS LIVESTOCK BACK THERE! PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG EVEN IN THE BIG AREA. THANK YOU!!!

***Charges are in USD*** The fenced area contains our home. We do not enter the spot during visits. We are excited to supply a safe space to exercise and train your dogs. Please feel free to reach out with any questions you may have! We have a small white bench in the yard, but please let me know if additional seating is needed. 🌲🌳🐕 We also have unfenced areas that are included in the booking. They feel quite secure as they are surrounded by bush which acts as a bit of a natural fence (less so now that it is fall). I do encourage all guests to explore the unfenced areas as well as they add so much more space and variety, even if it is just once and on a leash/long line. There’s a even a small creek so you might want to bring boots! Or come at night, and take in the moon & star 🌟 gaze - breathe in the country air with your furry friends…it’s beautiful out here! Upon booking, please message me with your cell number so I can text you some short instructional videos. Also included will be a map that you can refer to showing the trails. If I am home, rest room will be available 😊 There is also a hose available by the garden. Lastly, I keep the Sabbath so if you book after Sundown Friday I will send you the instructional videos Saturday night. Last minute bookings are accepted however please ensure you receive a message from me (other than automated one) so I can ensure everything is ready for you and your pup!
