Wildlife is common here, including deer, pheasants, gophers, and other small animals. Our own dogs frequently surprise a pheasant hiding in the grass, so dogs that love using their noses will have plenty to investigate. Because we maintain much of the acreage in its natural state, you’ll encounter tall grasses, native vegetation, burrs, seeds, uneven terrain, and changing conditions throughout the seasons. Gophers are also very active here, which means there are gopher mounds and holes throughout the property. Please watch your footing while exploring, and consider whether the terrain is appropriate for dogs or people with mobility concerns. We recommend doing a quick paw and coat check for burrs before heading home. NOTE: we will be cleaning and storing away the agility equipment for the winter season starting in September. The agility equipment displayed are only available during the summer months. A large, open 1.25 acre fenced in yard with multiple small hills that is bordered on the west side by a public walking trail (with 6 foot fence) and on the north side by Rice Creek (with 5 foot fence). Note that the creek is not directly accessible from the Sniffspot. During the winter months, deer and foxes pass just outside of the fenced in yard, while in warmer months the creek entices additional wildlife as well as the occasional canoeist or kayak. Agility equipment pictured are available during the warmer months and are not available in the winter. There's abundant street parking as we are located at a dead-end. Please do not park in the driveway. Enter the yard using the gate located to the left of the garage.

Read below for instructions.* The water is usually left ready to go, but the spigot on the side of the house is left off. To use it, open the valve on the side of the house by the driveway. Make sure the diverter that faces the backyard is open. When you leave, please shut it off again, it tends to drip otherwise. Thanks!

Like any natural outdoor area, ticks are present, so please ensure your dog is on preventative care and check them afterward. This outdoor setup features: • A portable propane water heater supplying an adjustable-temperature water source with a hand wand. • A sturdy wash tub, a clean variety of dog shampoos, and fresh towels. • A cemented post to temporarily leash your dog safely while washing. • Handler Responsibility: To keep this clean for the next guest, you are required to wash out the tub afterward and spray it down with the provided sanitizer. 🚗 Directions & Parking Instructions Please note your parking location depends on whether you booked the basic spot or the warm water wash add-on: • Standard Bookings (Private Field Parking): The entrance is on the south side of 181st. Look for the dog silhouette sign pointing directly to a small, private, off-road grassy parking area. This spot is located west of the main driveway and just east of the brook. • Warm Water Wash Bookings (Driveway Parking): If you ordered the warm water wash station in advance, please park directly in the main driveway. The station is hooked up in our driveway turnaround to stay within hose distance of the house spigot. • Leaving the Property: When your session is over, you can safely leash your dog to the post or use the wire kennel to secure them while you walk over to retrieve your vehicle from the parking area.
