My husband and I have a little peace of heaven here in the Shenandoah Valley! Our goal is to provide a space for all dogs to play, run and sniff away! We have a huge field with a platform/ramps, tug rope, agility poles, stick collection, hidden container with treats and possibly a prize toy! We host many special events for pups as well as birthday parties for your pups! I spent many years volunteering, fostering and ultimately adopting many animals from rescue non-profits over the years. Throughout all of the years I spent in animal rescues, I realized that most dogs don’t get much time outside of the kennels. I also came to understand that many rescue animals have trauma related behaviors and cannot integrate with other dogs. I feel so grateful to be able to provide a space for dogs to be off leash and have the freedom to explore! Also, it is a significant bonding experience for pups and their parents to have this special time together! Our dogs are in a separate fenced area but because I feel this time is for you and your pup(s), I will put my pups in the house so they are not visible to you and your pups. CREEK: Please note the creek is NOT within the fenced dog park play area! It is directly across from the dog park play area and on the left side as you walk from your car to the play area. Provided are the use of 20, 30, 40 foot long leashes (red, blue, black). Guests are welcome to use these to allow their pups more freedom to explore the creek! If your pup has excellent recall you are welcome to let them off leash but do so at your own risk! HIKING TRAIL: In addition to the dog park play area there is an awesome hiking trail for guests, however, please note it is temporarily “ON-LEASH ONLY” due to improvements and upgrades we are creating!

HOST NOTE

CREEK: Getting into the creek is rocky and in some areas a bit steep as well as the bottom of the creek is very rocky. Caution as well as the right shoes for humans should be taken and worn at all times if you choose to go in with your pup! Additionally, if your pup has compromised balance (risk of falling) or any wounds (any bacteria that may be present) they should not attempt to get into the creek. HIKING TRAIL: In general hiking trail terrain is not smooth, can be rocky or have risk of tripping in specific areas. There can also be slippery terrain from rain or snow. Also, there are trees, brush from trees, leaves, etc. (totally normal for any hiking path) on both sides of the path. Just use caution and keep your pups within eye sight if at all possible. The area isn’t that big to where they can’t venture off too far but it’s always best to try and keep them within eyesight. When adventuring into the beauty of nature there are always risks so it is always best to use caution and remember safety comes first!

Please park in designated area. Please have your dog on a leash until you are inside the fenced area. Please pick up toys and put inside the baskets in the brown bench box. Please pick up fecal waste. Poop bags and pooper scooper are next to the trash receptacle inside the play area. Please close all gates as you enter and leave the fenced areas. Please do not leave your dog unattended while on property. We understand sometimes toys get broken and/or destroyed, we just ask that you be vigilant about preventing this the best you can. Toys are expensive to replace and we want to continue to provide them for all of our fur friends. PLEASE NOTE: The creek is NOT within the fenced dog park! Pups are welcome to go in the creek on leash and at your own risk. There are 20, 30, 40 foot long leashes (red, blue, black) you are welcome to use for your pup to explore the creek. PLEASE NOTE: Usually the hiking trail is 100% fenced and your pup can be off leash, however temporarily we have taken sections of the fence down because we are making awesome upgrades and changes to the trail! Lastly but not least, if you and your pup had a blast and would like to give a review I would be so grateful! We have five acres of land and when we heard about Sniffspot it was a no brainer for us! We have a life long passion for helping all dogs live their best lives! With many years of experience having fur babies of our own, working and volunteering at animal shelters as well as education on dog behavior, we decided to open our home to provide a space for pup parents to bring their pups to get physical exercise, mental stimulation via sniffing and provide uninterrupted quality time with their pups! We do our very best to keep our dog park manicured, stocked with toys, water, bowl and lots of fun equipment! Last year we added a platform with ramps, some agility equipment, two fire hydrants, a picnic table with umbrella and the game Ladder Golf! There is a trash can, poop bags and a stick library to the left once you enter through the second gate. - We also have a beautiful creek which many pups love to get in and explore! The creek is NOT within the fenced area, however, we have 20, 30, 40 foot leads (red, blue, black) attached to various trees on the bank of the creek. These are available for you to use so your pup can explore the creek without you having to get wet. Of course, you’re welcome to keep your dog on your leash and go explore the creek. Safety is a must so please be safe, use at your own risk and please do not leave pups unattended while in the creek! Humans should wear closed toe shoes with a no slip bottom (preferably water shoes) while in the creek! We recommend you keep your dog on leash while exploring the creek as it is outside of the fenced dog park! Going forward, we have so many more plans for our park and are excited to add more equipment and fun toys as finances permit! Most importantly, we want you and your pup to have the best time and memorable experience! Once you have booked our Sniffspot we will send you information on parking and directions on how to enter into the dog park. We have worked very hard providing as much information as possible so that you have everything you need and your time here is 100% private for you and your pup. Please note: Although we make every effort to ensure our Sniffspot is ready and stocked before your visit from time to time there may be something we missed. If there’s anything (especially water for pups) that needs to be restocked we would appreciate you texting or calling us and we will bring it to you asap! Bring your fur babies to this beautiful private wildlife preserve in Gerrardstown. Our private property features nature trails that lead to a 7 acre pond and private access to Back Creek. Your pups can take a swim in the pond or splash around in the beautiful crystal clear creek on the backside of the property. There are otters in the pond so be watchful that your fur babies don’t have a negative interaction with the wildlife. We only host one booking at a time so the full 20.56 acres will be yours for the time you reserve. Additionally this property has three main areas. At the base of the driveway, you will find a forested area with clearing to sit in the shade and let your pups play with the available dog toys or explore. Make your way to the back of that first main area to begin your first nature trail which leads you straight to the beautiful 7 acre pond where more seating is available. From the pond there’s another winding trail that takes you through the backside of the forest and then opens up on Back Creek. Parking: You can park at the top of the driveway, on the side of the road, or you can bring your vehicle down the driveway. For small cars it is recommended To park at the top of the driveway due to unlevel terrain. Before you leave the property: please clean up all of your dog waste and dispose of in the waste bins along with any trash. And please place the dog toys back in the bin. Hi y’all, Nice , clean cut, picked up regularly backyard for doggies big or small. Wide open, not a lot to get in the way of zoomies. There are 2 sitting areas for the hoomans, a hammock, a big Blue water bucket filled w/fresh water daily, a big orange bucket for the necessary waste. The fence on 1 side is only 4 foot, the rest is 6 foot privacy. There are 2 hiding spots my boy enjoys; the big bush at the far left corner of the house and the bush at the back left corner of the yard. The OFF LIMITS is the stairs to the basement door. Should not be home, my dog is downstairs secured in his kennel and would likely bark his head off if he saw you. So please refrain from venturing down the stairs.
