We have been overwhelmed at the support our spot has been given by so many wonderful dogs and their humans. Currently, we are facing some unforeseen circumstances and hard decisions have had to be made. That said, for the indefinite future, Penny’s Place will only be open during the morning hours of 6 am until 8 am. We understand the difficulty this might pose for you and we apologize for any inconvenience this might cause. Reopening full time will be a decision made in the future. Nearly one acre of fully fenced space where you can run, sunbathe, sniff the few trees, play with the hose and kiddie pool, whatever your pup’s heart desires! Dec 1 2025 Update - Back Open! Oct 1 2025 Update - It’s hunting season, and we are closing October and November 2025 as a precaution. We don’t want a stray hunting dog to interfere with someone’s Sniffspot time. So we made the decision to close for 2 months. We’re sorry, it was a tough decision, but think it’s best. We promise - We’ll reopen in December 2025. Welcome to 50 acres of puppy heaven! Located off Crittenden Road in Suffolk, Virginia. Please take dirt lane, there is no house. Please do not disturb neighbors. Drive or Walk through the gate and the whole area is yours! There are walking trails in the woods, a pond to find and a river to explore. The open field is wonderful for training and or play. Your dog will love exploring this wonderful property. ***This is the country. The land is wonderful to explore but it is vacant and undeveloped. You will encounter nature, really in the spring and summer. There are ticks, snakes, uneven ground, rabbits, wet spots, etc. Please only book if you are used to the outdoors and being adventurous!*** Update from my guests comments: Wear bug spray when it’s warm, check for ticks after a visit, boots are recommended after rainy days, dogs may get muddy bring towels and look for the new mailbox to identify the dirt lane off the road. Enjoy!

If your dogs are into water sports, you've found the right place: There is a sloping bulkhead that eases into the water, 2-3 feet deep at the edge. PLEASE NOTE: Humans are not allowed in the lake, per Norfolk regs. The picturesque Wiseacre Estate has been an Airbnb for 10+ years, and now is also a private, peaceful retreat for your beloved doggies. * Hose and water bowl on-premises. Entry to the yard is through the gated door on the right side of the house, clearly marked with a Sniffspot sign. Our yard offers plenty of spaces for dogs of all sizes to roam freely and safely. Whether your dog loves to zoom, sniff every corner, or just relax in the sun, this is the spot! 🏃‍♂️🐕 We’ve also added some fun dog agility equipment, including hoop jumps and weave poles – great for active pups or training practice. For pet parents, there’s a cozy outdoor couch where you can kick back and unwind while your dog plays.
