I am obsessed and will be back. This spot quenched my thirst for nature and so much more.
Anja was so kind, flexible and a pleasure to meet. The tour of the property was so much fun and we followed that up with a few hours of free roaming.
We spent the rest of our time on the water. When our time ended we hiked up to the fresh water stream for our pup to get a drink.
Our pup loved running through the trails, playing in the water at the inlet and frolicking though the streams.
There are multiple relaxation spots by the water with hammocks. There are Kayaks to rent to go explore the inlet. Some trails are defined other beckon you to explore a little deeper.
Plan at least a few hours for your visit here, plan to rest, recent and reconnect while your pups do the same.
It was really nice letting my furbabies running free without any worries. It is very peaceful and beautiful.
Make sure you have trail or hiking shoes and clothes that you dont mind getting dirty. Trails can get a little slippery, and steep. It is worth it!!
The area was secluded and lovely. All the dogs had a grand time playing in the field and in the creek! Definitely happy with it and planning on coming back.
The only problem was we couldn't find more than 2 trails for the dogs to go down. Everything was a bit overgrown. Also, there was no water available for the dogs (looked like the bowl was empty) which was a bit unfortunate because we packed assuming dog water would be available. Luckily I brought a water bottle!
This place is amazing! Definitely coming back. Be sure to bring appropriate shoes for mud. The tour was well worth it for a first visit.
Beautiful and lots of space to run!
Love love love this place!
Our 2 husky/malamutes had a fun time exploring!
Anja's property is so neat! The dogs (and us hoomans) really loved exploring the trails and romping through the tall grass. If we're in the area again, we will definitely return! Anja is very sweet, and I highly recommend her tour of the property.
Fantastic place! Great walking paths. Lots of areas to enjoy.
Such a wonderful spot! Our dogs had a blast!
Most amazing spot. Be prepared to walk in - you'll spend your while hour - the trees and water ahhhhh it's fabulous.
The host was a great tour guide She was very understanding of how my dog takes his time warming up to people. She also, took her time with showing us the lot
Beautiful property, lots to explore including tidal areas and fresh springs. You and your dog will LOVE it. Saw frogs, slugs, and loads of critter prints. Definitely book the tour if this is your first time. Anjia is an absolutely lovely soul and is super knowledgeable about the plant life around the property.
It will likely be a bit muddy so wear rain boots or muck boots with long pants. No really, trust me on this. We spent 2 hours for our first time and it was awesome! Wore my pup out and gave me a good walk in the woods.
Beautiful and secluded area for lots of fun! Our pups had a blast and Anja was very knowledgeable. Definitely recommend this spot! Just make sure you dress appropriately (boots, and maybe long sleeves for the thorns)
Anja is so helpful, and please please just do the guided tour the first time. You won’t regret it.
My dogs love this Sniffspot! Lots for them to explore and have fun. Make sure you bring boots :)
Beautiful and perfect as always. You can tell Anja is invested in her property because there are new improvements every time we go. This place is heaven to my dogs.
Great property! Lovely trails, great for hiking 🙂
Unique spot with forest area and tidal flats! Prepare for mud! The only critique I have is that the area/boundaries could be better marked.
Very quiet, well kept and private location. Would recommend wearing comfortable shoes as it is a bit of an uphill hike back to the top of the hill. Will definitely return
We had an absolute blast! Anja was kind enough to pop out and introduce us to the spot, plus introduce us to some super cute goats. I've gotta remember to bring better shoes next time though - my pup might love mud but my tennies do not 🤣
Beautiful spot but super confusing. The instructions were 1/2 helpful and there were maybe 3 signs showing that we were relatively in the right area. The trails are not clearly marked and we ended up lost in the woods trying to get out. Highly recommend maybe signs with arrows so people stop getting lost? We ended up having to trail blaze to even get out of the area because of how lost we got. I have no clue how others even made it to the water front. Oh! And no service so good luck y’all
This was an awesome spot! Very peaceful and well maintained. Anja’s directions were easy to figure out. Bring shoes for walking in the mud, as some of the trails were muddy (to be expected after a rain!).
This is my happy place. I feel safe and calm here. On low tide visits or after rain prepare for mud. Get some eggs and schedule a tour w
This is an absolutely wonderful spot!!
Beautiful area with lots of fun things for my pup to explore!
Phenomenal time as usual! I love bringing a friend with my dogs and I because we just MARVEL at Anna’s property. I would come every day if I could afford it.
Another awesome visit. My dogs were smiling from ear to ear as they ran through the tidal flats and splashed in the stream. I love hiking through this beautiful forest while the dogs have the time of their life.
We had such a wonderful time! This place is beautiful and perfect for agile pups that love to adventure in the woods, splash in the streams, and get very, very muddy! This is our new favorite spot!
Hunter loved roaming the woods and even played in the stream. It was very peaceful and serene. We couldn’t stay the full hour because he wore himself out. Now it is time for a bath and bed! Highly recommend.
This is such a beautiful spot with so much to explore. Both my dog and I love it and we return often.
What a glorious place for us and the dogs to wander around! Definitely wear wellies and bring towels for the dogs, and the trails are like hiking trails not walking paths. So perfect for us but just as fair warning to anyone who does better with a path.
This is an amazing place. I went with a friend and we both got a little lost finding the correct driveway and I am pretty sure we were not on the trail for a portion of our two hour visit but all of that was made ok by the fun our dogs had. My only dog fun gripe was my dog pooped way down by the water and it was kind of annoying carrying his bag back up to the care. We did have some issues with drinking of yucky water but that is on us and our dogs. We didn’t bring water on to the trail, just to our cars as we didn’t want to carry our dog packs Into the muck. As for the mud - be prepared. Dobermans are pretty wash and wear, when it dries it falls off and when we got home while a lot had fallen off the pair each needed good wipe downs still. But they had a blast and three hours later are still sleeping. We will both go again, we may just wait for drier weather. And perhaps a guided tour to the trail. It was still a blast and totally a dog paradise. I won’t bring my hairy dogs here this time of year but if you have a short coated and/or easy to wash breed they should be ok. For the humans - waterproof hiking boots and a change of shoes. I drove home in my socks beCause I didn’t have a Second pair on me.
Every bit as muddy as the description notes - our pup LOVED IT. Definitely a bit of a hike getting out and highly recommend wearing waterproof boots/shoes. All three of us left smiling, tired, and smelling like low tide (😆) - we’ll be back!!
If you don’t have good boots and can’t climb a big hill, this is not the best place for you. We love it!
We had a great time! The deep forest opens up to watery marshes. You really feel all alone in an enchanted place. We loved the waterways and little streams. Bring tall boots if you go during a wet season. Canines and humans loved the whole experience.
This spot is so beautiful!! I would probably do the guided tour next time, tons of land! My dogs absolutely loved it here!! Such an amazing time!!!
It was awesome! Muddy, because of low tide, but my dogs loved it:)
100% dogs will have a good time. Mud is likely
The dogs had a blast! I would definitely recommend going when the tide is up and bring rubber boots!
Best day ever or at least in a very long time. Every part of our visit was healing and healthy for our dogs and for us. I recommend taking advantage of the extras offered.
Another wonderful visit! This time we did a hike with the goats that is offered, as an extra. The kids loved it! The goats are super cute and playful. Anja shared her knowledge of the native plants throughout the hike which I appreciated. The property is beautiful and peaceful. We always have a great time here.
So fun!! Wear boots! We loved it.
This was by far one of my favorite SniffSpots. Stunning land. I booked the tour and Anja taught me so much while my pup explored. Such a fun hour. Can’t wait to visit again.
Wow, this place is incredible! The pups and I had an absolute blast. So many sweet areas to explore from fields to forest and shoreline. It was muddy, which is to be expected for this time of year, but that only added to the fun. My puppy had an absolute ball zooming around as did my older dog. This place is an amazing asset to the Oly dog community!
A wonderful place and a very kind, knowledgeable, gracious host. Highly recommend the guided tour for first timers. Anja was a fabulous guide!
Super fun to run around on trails, see the waterfall, dig in the mud and fetch in the meadow!
Fantastic visit! Her directions are great and she’s made a parking spot at the trailhead. I booked the tour of the property and it was so worth it! My dogs absolutely loved exploring the beautiful property and tramping around in the little inlets/streams, I enjoyed learning the lay of the land. It can be a little muddy so be prepared for a true walk in the woods. This is a perfect spot for dogs who like to explore and have decent recall. Will definitely go again!
Beautiful property with tons of room for the dogs to get dirty and run around. The trail can be hard to find but once you do it’s completely worth it! Recommend boots it’s very muddy!
Beautiful trail - my dog had a great time! No trouble finding the place with the detailed directions from the host, and we got fresh eggs, too.
We had a blast with our boy!! Absolutely beautiful location. We booked an hour and time flew by. Super muddy so bring your boots. Can’t wait to go back!
We had a blast! The dogs were exctatic and enjoyed zooming around in this gorgeous natural setting.
Thanks so much. We'll definitely be back!
The forest was beautiful. Our dogs had a blast! I'm not sure if we went the right way after passing the horse trailer, but we had a great time exploring the trails. Thank you for a wonderful adventure!
loved this space! The clear directions made it easy to find. The paths and trails through the property are clear and easy to navigate. Even though there were neighbors nearby it felt very secluded. I had no issues with my reactive dog seeing or interacting with other dogs.
Anna's place is great! Lots of room to move and a hill to exercise myself and my dogs. We also played fetch in the water--always a favorite! It was very muddy, so bring towels for after.
We booked an hour, hoping it wouldn't be too long. We had a blast and wished we had longer! There is so much to see and do. Jo loved it, racing up and down a little creek. We brought our 14 year old son who really enjoyed it too. Peaceful place with lots of woods and water. It was muddy in spots, but we were able to navigate around them fine.
Walking down the 1st main trail we were excited to see goats and a donkey wander up to the fence.
We can't wait to go back!
A beautiful location to get out in the woods and enjoy the sounds of the creek running, tree transitions through the woods and peace and quiet. The directions are very detailed and make perfect sense once we were there. We look forward to our next visit!
First time visiting, and this spot exceeded our expectations! Lots of hills, plenty of forest with interesting trees, a tiny stream and endless space to romp and play. Our boy had an absolute blast and we were able to relax and enjoy watching him have a fun. We will be making this spot a routine place we visit. Thank you so much for allowing us to enjoy your space!
Muddy and messy but still a great hike and great fun for the dogs!
This was a great spot for my energetic, scent oriented Catahoula! It was expectedly muddy, because of the snow and rain, but so worth the Tramp though the woods and fields. It's beautiful! Listen closely to the area instructions, as there isn't really any signage to delineate the acceptable areas. Once you know them though, I'm sure it's easier to navigate.
A magical spot in Olympia! The host allowed us to come earlier than scheduled, showed us a map of where exactly to go, and what to watch out for. My pup had a lovely time romping around her beautiful woodland area, all while we soaked in the beautiful scenery. We also picked up some eggs for the pups.
So beautiful here! Was just after the good snow we had on 12/26 so made it kinda tricky to find as we couldn’t go by the landmarks left in Sniffspot directions as well as we could have if no snow on ground. Kept questioning ourselves as we didn’t want to be on the wrong property! Will definitely go back next spring so we can see all the beautiful green I know resides under the snow!
Just wonderful! Easy to explore with clear boundaries and lots of dog energy burning :)
We had a great time at this sniff spot! No issues finding anything but super muddy so be sure to wear boots in the rainy months!
Our dogs had a great time running the field and wandering the trails. We did as well. Such a beautiful piece of land, we will be back!
Awesome spot! A good clearing for frisbee, and then a cool network of trails for exploring. Great for a private little hike:)
A Labrador’s HEAVEN. This property has a lot of hiking and water and mud (probably certain times of year) so dress accordingly and bring towels. Your dog is going to have the time of their life. I will be a regular here for as long as it is available. Absolutely magical! Also, I got my car stuck because I didn’t read the directions fully and drove down the dirt road. DO NOT DO THIS. Park at the top and walk down. Also, the host was VERY kind and helpful. 15/10
What an amazing spot! My lab loved all the mud and streams. Just make sure not to drive down the lane (park in front of the house) because the mud is DEEP. We had such a lovely time and I’d love to go back when I’m up there again.
Our dogs were SO excited, maybe a little too excited so we will come at a later time next time. 😅 Great place to practice recall.
A little confusing getting around the first time, but the instructions helped a lot. We had five pups romping around and they had the BEST time! Definitely a spot for pups with good recall, as the boundaries snuck up on us a few times. Will 100% be back!
Really amazing place with tons of trees, underbrush, and logs for your dog to sniff! Definitely want to wear good shoes and plan for some mud, but my girl had a great time and it was very worth braving a bit of damp to see her so happy!
My dogs loved this spot! Definitely recommend if yours need to get their zoomies out like mine did!
Absolutely beautiful! Easy-to-follow property instructions make your first time a blast! My pup Roan enjoyed sprinting through the forest, creek and mud flats. Definitely bring boots and a towel to save your vehicle! The forests make for enchanting views while your pup’s on their own quest
Another wonderful visit! We love this spot.
Huge, quiet, beautiful
Absolutely wonderful Sniffspot! My pup and I both had the best time; he loved running around exploring everything, and I appreciated the gorgeous scenery and peaceful feeling out there. We will definitely be back!
My dog loves this spot. It’s really large and the terrain is varied, making it a great place to explore. My dog likes to splash around in the tide flats and if there isn’t enough water there, he will take a dunk in the small creek which runs through the forest. His favorite part of the property are the trails through the woods. Although one review indicated there isn’t much in the way of trails, I haven’t found that to be the case. We have found a number of trails and although they aren’t wide, they are easy to navigate without bushwhacking through underbrush. Overall, we find this to be a beautiful and peaceful spot for both humans and dogs to enjoy and get some good exercise.
We loved this adventure sniff spot and can’t wait to go back! My dogs had so much fun running through the forest and it was enjoyable for me too. Anja provides a lot of information that proves useful once you get to the spot and I appreciate her thoughtfulness and details. We will be making this a regular spot!
Awesome spot! Lots of great trails to explore and the tidal flats were amazing. Plus the farm fresh eggs can’t be beat.
I’ve been here about 6 or so times and my dog always has so much fun!
Wonderful spot. Lots to explore and will definitely come back and for longer next time.
Awesome Sniffspot!! Tons of forest trails to walk through, a wide open pasture, and fun water access.
The good: this Spot is full of natural beauty! Once you get onto the actual property, it really is lovely. There are multiple springs, lots of old-growth cedar trees, and plenty of room to run and sniff. We found the biggest shelf fungi I have ever seen! Even though tide was out, my dogs still enjoyed playing in the mud. Playing in the springs and tall grass afterwards got them pretty well cleaned off, too.
The meh: as noted in the listing, parking is pretty tight and awkward, and signs are lacking. This Spot does NOT actually have a private entrance - you park just off the neighborhood street, essentially in the owner’s yard, and walk down a dirt road. My dogs are a little extra, and I drive a big van, so this was a bummer. Discernment of property boundaries is quite difficult. During our visit one of my dogs alerted and bolted towards the dirt road - thankfully she has a good recall and came back. I’m not sure if we got too close to a neighbor or if someone walked down the dirt road.
In sum, really pretty Spot, but not as relaxing or private for dogs who are excitable or reactive.
Beautiful spot! The uphill comments were no joke. I’m fat and old and almost died twice :) wear good shoes, bring a camera! My big puppy had a great time here. Plenty to explore but safe paths for my scaredy cat to pretend to be brave on. We went at low tide and it was gorgeous. I can’t imagine what high tide would look like. I will definitely go back. I would love to find the waterfall reviews mention. We had the added bonus of two of the sweetest, ultra polite, dog loving neighbor kids asking to pet our dog which made his day even better!
I can't stress how much I love it here. This spot is amazing with beautiful ancient trees, tall tall grass, a river that doubles as a mud flat, loamy pine and cedar forests and absolutely beautiful nature everywhere. It was like being all alone in the wild and it felt so good to just disconnect and spend time letting my dogs be dogs. After the hike my pooches were pooped, and pretty dirty from the mud (be warned, this is nature, your dog WILL be dirty so bring towels!). We hosed them off and let them settle in the car while we met the hosts charming dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, chickens and the sweetest little donkey in the world. Our host Anja showed us around the best trails and was a laid back and very relaxing host. She clearly loves animals and our dogs liked her immedietly. She was above excellent in navigating the trails and giving us visual checks to find our way on our own next time. I will be back frequently!
The pups had a ton of fun here. The mud flats seemed a bit dangerous for the doggos with the mud being so deep so just something to take note of. There is not much signage identifying the path and most of the area is over grown. Keep in mind also that you will be walking downhill on your way in so be prepared for that uphill walk back to your car. Overall this was an ok experience albeit the confusing instructions.
We loved exploring the area. The dogs loved running around. However, there were some small dogs (unleashed) that suddenly ran towards us at one point and we had to change direction. It was very unexpected and a bit disruptive for the dogs.
Lovely! I felt completely safe that we wouldn't run into other dogs and my two had an absolute blast....as did I! It's a beautiful area and next time I plan on walking the conservation trail with them leashed up.
Gracie absolutely loved her off-leash romp in the forest and stream. Came home muddy, but we had planned on that. We arrived a little late because we were confused by the 11th street turn off—it is a gravel road that looks like a private driveway.
This spot is truly beautiful. I’ve been here 3 times now and it still is just as fun. Today was my first time taking the small trail to the left of the main big trail. I followed my dog to a small waterfall and she had fun running in the water. It’s relaxing, quiet, and clean. I will gladly pay to come back twice a month. Excited to see it in the Fall!
We have been here several times now and love it each time. In the recent hot weather we’ve been sticking to the woods which is several degrees cooler. It’s very peaceful and truly enchanting, as the name suggests. A truly great place to exercise a reactive dog. Highly recommended!
Beautiful. Wear long pants. Take the left on the gravel road. Thank you for sharing your lovely property. Would highly recommend.
My Aussie had such a fun time tromping through the forest and I also had a wonderful time just enjoying nature! Such an amazing sniffspot! We were both tired after just an hour of exploring!
Expect a downhill hill hike to reach the sweet spot of this Spot...tons to explore, quite secluded & peaceful with well-maintained trails & clearings...ample small wildlife, butterflies & birds to entertain curious pups...give yourself time to explore side trails & remember, it's an uphill hike to get back to your vehicle...my 2 y/o mixed breed had a blast & was gassed by time we left!
Fantastic place just let your pumps romp around, smell all the smells, and expend all the energy!
This place is so amazing. It's such a beautiful place to hike. My dog loves everything about it: the tall grass, the mud flats, the creek and the waterfall. I love spending some time sitting by the waterfall and relaxing while the dog plays. Anja, thank you so much for sharing this magical place with us!
Wow wow wow!!! This place is amazing. My year old Aussie shepherd had the time of her life!!!
It was a beautiful sunny day and we had a really nice time walking through the cool woodlands. We’ve been here a few times and my dog always loves roaming and sniffing through the large property. He really enjoys the “cookie” that Anya leaves for him too. Thanks Anya for sharing your really beautiful piece of land!
Milo and I had a blast visiting this spot. We’ve been looking for an off leash area that’s close by and isn’t just a field to throw a ball in - we can do that at home. Anja’s property has it all! Mud, streams, hills, grass, a little waterfall, etc. It also has blackberry brambles and a lot of roots so be careful of your footing and aware of your surroundings! Milo is one pooped pooch. We’ll definitely be back.
Lovely location and fun trails. Unfortunately we had to cut our adventure short because our dog rolled in manure.
Great spot for a relaxing walk. Love seeing the farm animals on the way down and sitting by the river bed. Both my pups had a lovely time!
the spot itself was fantastic but finding it was a bit confusing. when you get to where the main road splits into private roads you want the one on the left and the post with the orange flag will be on the right side of the road, the sniffspot is down the small dirt road somewhat hidden in the bushes, not the gravel road. I'm not entirely sure i parked in the right are, it wasnt very clear to me where i was meant to park
Our first visit here. Wonderful place. Lots of new scents for the pooches and nice walk thru the woods. We’ll be back!
The pups had another great time.
This was my first time
using Sniffspot and I’m so happy that I selected this property! Its truly a magical forest with running streams. I would wear long pants, closed shoes and be prepared to get muddy. My puppy loved it!
I added the guided tour with Anja and it was a pleasure to learn more about the property! We also got to visit with the donkey and other lively animals on the property! This property is a must see! I will definitely be back! Thank you for being such a lovely host Anja.
We visited once with our dog and he was in heaven. He loved running through the tall grass and jumping in the water. Today we did the goat and donkey hike. It was so beautiful and peaceful. We are already looking forward to our next visit.
This place is AWESOME. One of the best spots I’ve been to. Access instructions are easy.. you just park outside the trail that leads to the Sniffspot and walk right in.
It is HUGE: lots of hidden trails, trees, and a variety of shrubs. My pup had a great time exploring and rumaging through different types of terrain. Some trails weave through the trees and thick veg and other trails lead to an open field of talk grass. There are small streams around the trees and a larger creek the further in you go (its muddy with little water right now but I bet its terrific for doggy-swims when its full). There are lots of great slopes amongst the treets and the owner has tied colorful makes on certain branches along the trails so it’s easy to find your way.
Just remember to bring good walking shoes and be prepared to walk through some thick vegetation/vines. some parts of the trail are uneven but the owner has laid out planks and/or thick branches to make things easier.
I will definitely be back!
This spot was perfect for my dog and I! We had so much fun exploring and wandering freely throughout the property. As other have said, I'd recommend long pants, closed toe shoes, and an adventurers mindset. We did come across a dead animal on one of the trails(looked like a baby raccoon) so keep an eye out. I only mention it because my dog was ahead of me and almost took a big bite out of it. We can't wait to go back and find the water front access point.
Our second visit and just as fun as the first. The water bank is now mostly mud but my dog loved to run through it. Great place for reactive dogs, very quiet.
A wonderful Sniffspot! This was our second visit and we were able to explore the woodlands this time. Previously, we had explored the meadows and tide flats which we accessed via the main trail. This time we we turned left into the woods just after passing a parked horse trail on the main trail. The woodland has some small trails that meander through the trees and streams. If you stay on the trails it’s easy walking but we went off the trail at one point and the vegetation eventually became too dense to continue forward and we had to circle back to the trail to continue. It was all good and we found it a lot of fun to explore! I highly recommend this spot. It’s large and very private with many interesting “sniffs” for your dog. You can easily spend an hour without having explored the whole area.
Great, big place. Our dog had a blast. There's a trail leading down to the grass area. The grass is pretty high but easy to get through. Just make sure to wear long pants. After the grass area are the mud flats, our dog loved them (and got pretty muddy). If you would want to join your dog, wear waterproof shoes you don't mind getting dirty.
There's other trails too, but because of the tall grass, not easy to find.
Overall, a great experience.
Anja is a great host. She was very responsive to my questions when I wasn’t sure where the beginning of the Sniffspot was. Note - it’s right at the red flag 🚩 a few feet from her gray house on the right side. If you’re visiting this beautiful spot, this is for the adventurous type. Come dress appropriately with long pants and rainboots. There are long grass and the paths to the mud flats can be confusing - no marks or signage. Mud flats are also very muddy so be careful with the terrain. You don’t want to get stuck. My dogs did enjoy their time and will come again.
My reactive doggo had a blast at this Sniffspot! It is really private and there is a lot of space to explore. The terrain is varied and includes wooded areas, grassy meadows and saltwater mud flats. Upon arrival you will find street side parking just past the host’s house. The trail head will be just a few feet away and is marked by a fence post, a balloon, a trash can for doggy doo, and doggy waste bags. The trail heads down the hill past the host’s house and a neighbor on the other side. Both the neighbor and the host have fenced yards and the fences are a good 30 feet or more from the trail. I kept my dog on a leash until we were past the fenced yards and even though there were pigs, goats, and chickens in the host’s yard my dog didn’t even notice them. Once we made our way down the hill we found the beautiful woodlands and grassy fields. The grass was about 3 feet high but very easy to walk through. After making our way through the grassy area we found the mud flats. If you’d like to join your dog in exploring the flats, you’ll definitely need boots. I’d also recommend exploring the perimeter of the flats to find the most accessible spots. Once in the mud flats it is easiest to walk in the middle of the stream (which is quite small right now) as the ground is stable and much easier to navigate than the muddy areas. Anya, the host, is really nice and responsive too. I had a question about accessing the trail when we arrived so I messaged her. She came out and met us right away and gave us an overview of the property. We were also very pleasantly surprised to see a zip lock bag with my dog’s name on it and a cookie inside, taped to the trail head fence post. Overall, we really enjoyed this Sniffspot and plan on coming back soon and hopefully often. Highly recommended!
There were some mixups with our visit as the host was new to the whole sniffspot thing, but she was so pleasant to talk to and everything ended up great!
When you get to the house address, you can park your car right next to their “driveway.” Then you’ll go down a trail, keep going straight and you’ll get to explore! It is confusing, just a tad, so I would totally reccomend communicating with the host. This first trail is secluded, but you can see their turkeys, donkey, and dogs. If you have a reactive one like me, tell the host and she’ll move them out of sight for you! I had both my dogs leashed for this portion of the trail.
Then we got to the fun part! Off-leash amazingness!!! This spot was truly enchanted. Nature was just brimming, it was absolutely stunning. My dogs stayee on the trail when there was one. They explored the long grass (some balckberry bushes, we tried to steer clear of those) and salt-water. My pups just totally went all for it and came back a muddy, stinky mess and we’re all for it! Make sure your pup doesn’t drink that saltwater. We went in the afternoon where there was low tide, for reference.
This spot, as stated above, doesn’t really have “fencing.” My big dog doesn’t have great recall. She won’t really come to the cue, but she always circles back to us. Judging by the size of this property, I wouldn’t worry much about the unfenced part. BUT it is totally up to you and what you are comfortable with :)
Overall, we had an amazing sniffday. Since this one is closer to home we’ll visit again on a bath day. Wear your boots, bring extra water and towels, be prepared for a messy doggo!
Thank you for accomodating us, Anja and family, on such short notice!!
Really cool spot, but definitely for the adventurous types! Beautiful property and our Aussie loved the super tall grass, thick mud, and water. The terrain was a little challenging for us humans though... wear long pants and good shoes that you don't mind getting dirty!
My dog very much enjoyed exploring this wonderful forest area! Steep hill going down, and there a few trails that split off as you head down. At the bottom there is a green pasture area. Lots to explore! Would definitely recommend a pair or waterproof boots currently as it was a bit muddy due to rain.
overall a really good spot! bring some closed toe shoes, a towel for the dogs, and be aware there is a big trail to walk up. dogs had a blast! grass is tall right now walking through.
