Don't let the darkness defeat you taking your canine out to play! Installed 3 street lights to keep the early darkness at bay. Light timer switch is on the left inside the dog two way gate. Lights take a couple minutes to get fully bright. Now you can play with your dog from 6am to 9pm. Enjoy this private area that you can let your dog off leash without having to worry about anyone interrupting your time with your dog. Picnic table with cover. Water dish, poop bags, waste bin, sticks and balls with a chuck it at entrance. Coordinate with a friend and meet here to let your dogs play together while you catch up. We charge $13 for the hour space rental so, *please mark only one dog even if you are bringing more* The space has a long grassy open [360 feet] area to use a chuck it for dogs that love to fetch. A large cedar provides shade on half of the property while the other half is in the sunshine. This is a fun spot for dogs to exercise their legs and noses. Please check back for future upgrades. The loooong private road has one country dog that may chase your car for a brief moment and another that takes his goat guarding very seriously so he will bark at your car for a moment. Neither are visible from the property. This property is next to a nature preserve, expect deer, rabbits, squirrels, and lots of birds. Be aware of the possibility for bears and cougars. It’s secluded here but, unfortunately, you can still hear man made noise. There’s a gun range down the road and you can occasionally get a lot of gunfire noise on some days. You will hear planes and sometimes people working on distant homes. There’s as many days where all you hear are birds, water, and the breeze. The property has a lower trail, mid trail, and upper trail and those trails have smaller trails coming off of them. There are 5 bridges. You are welcome to try to find all of them! There are also 3 (empty) bee stands…bears love honey…The 3rd stand is tricky to find! We hope you enjoy our place and please share pics!

So it is very important that dogs are leashed and under control during the short trail walk from the farm stand parking area, past the historic barn to the gated forest sniff spot entrance. Trail is well marked with rope, arrows and signage. Approx 200 feet from parking to forest gated entrance. Follow Paw Print Pallets & Sniff Spot Signs. Property is 10 acres total with Sniff Spot space covering approx 3 rugged native forested acres and backing up to large green belt. Area is partially fenced with six foot welded wire to the south and east. No access to roadways. Partial natural barrier on north side with open forest and deep creek ravine to the west. Property backs up to protected green belt and adjoining private forested properties covering many acres of woods with abundant wildlife. IMPORTANT: Dogs must have good recall. There is abundant wildlife along the deep ravine including deer, coyote, bear, owls, hawks, eagles etc. So please use caution and ensure your pet has good recall when off leash. Keep close eye on small dogs. If visiting with children, please be sure to keep them close. South West corner has yard waste compost drop off to creek ravine, area is well marked with a log and signage. Please use only Sniff Spot gated entrance/exit, as all other cattle gates must remain closed at all times. Forested space has plenty of sun and shade with 2 human benches, dog toys, fresh hose water, bowls and a stick library, along with garbage cans and dog baggies for cleaning up after your visit. Welcome! We offer a 1 acre, fenced FIELD for your dog(s) to run, play, sniff and bark! Seasonal lake up and down throughout winter. THIS IS A FIELD, MEDIUM & HIGH GRASS, not always mowed short. Our dogs love rolling and sniffing in it! There is temporarily an additional corral inside entrance and our cows are in the adjacent pasture. Please leash dogs until inside the park. The cows may be surprising and there are lots of rabbits around. Beautiful views and farm animal neighbors add to the fun. Shade trees and seating make this spot fun for all! Long and short grass, slight hills and a sand pile to dig in too! We are a farm animal sanctuary and wildlife friendly. There may be long grass, insects, farm animal poo and other farmy stuff. Fun smell things such as feathers, wool, horse hair etc are added for dogs to sniff. All is cruelty free. During the summer there are two unfiltered pools, one small and one 9’ above ground stock tank. Please make sure pups know how to get in/out safely. There are towels in a bin near the table. ***PLEASE POSTPONE IF YOUR DOG IS IN HEAT - we’d love her to visit once done though!*** We ask that you not use electric collars while visiting, thank you. **May-July 4, New Years** there may be fireworks displays nearby. In our fully fenced, gently rolling meadow there is plenty of room to run, chase frisbees and balls, dip paws in the pup-pool, and sniff around for the scents of nature. For humans, there is a cozy shelter with seating, a bistro table, and the entertainment of a frisbee "goal". There's shade from a large fir, in the meadow, as well as shade from the woods, on the south side. Fencing is at least 4 feet high, all around. It has a vision-block screen, a 4.8’ top wire, plus double fencing, on the side with neighbor dogs. If the neighbor's Goldens are out, they will friendly bark, and bark. They really want to come over and play. Surrounding Area: There are two private yards (one with an enclosed, screened chicken run, and one with friendly dogs); deep woods on the South side; and an incredible mountain view, over more meadow, on the West side. Sunsets from here are awe-inspiring! Parking: There is room for two vehicles to park near the gate the Meadow. Please park only on gravel and do not drive on the lawn near the meadow. If there are more than two vehicles in your party, please park up the hill in the gravel near the large, 4-car garage. LIMIT of 4 VEHICLES per reservation, unless organized in advance with us. There are four easy-closing gates in the fence, that are generally left open for wildlife passage. We will make every effort to have the gates closed before you arrive, but know that you're responsible for seeing that all 4 gates are closed before you unleash your pups. If you bring kids, you're also responsible for keeping them in the gates :D We hope you visit soon and come back often!

About 4 of the acres is heavily wooded with very mature evergreens & maples. There is a very nice wide trail with lots of little ups & downs & obstacles. The trail is walkable in 5-10 depending on pace. The rest of the property is mostly native grass & weeds with some European grass that surrounds our house & shop in the middle of the property. No busy roads very peaceful & quiet. Nice trail that wraps around the back side of the property. Access points on trails marked by white sticks with red reflectors. Park in front and walk around back between the house and shop.

Enjoy our secluded woodsy and shaded trails on this 12-acre parcel. Relax in the provided chairs in the center of the lot while your dogs explore.

Pepper's Pasture in Gig Harbor

Beautiful sloped pasture with some woods at the lower end. 1.5 acres. If desired, you can drive right into the pasture and secure the gate behind you before letting your dog(s) loose. Extra cars/people are free, you pay per dog. The spot changes by the season. In summer, the grass grows tall and you can enjoy the shade of alders in the lower portion. (I haven't seen ticks but it's a good idea to keep up with flea/tick preventative meds or drops). A seasonal creek runs in winter and spring (take extra care if your dog isn't a swimmer). Towels provided for help with wetness and mud. Spigot/hose coming soon! Your dog may find the scent of deer where they've bedded down at night, though it's unlikely that any will be present for your visit. You will see that I've planted and protected some fruit trees, native plants, and more. There is also a u-pick garden inside the sniffspot with seasonal flowers, herbs, and veggies, bags and snips for helping yourself, and a venmo code and cash box for payments. A sheltered area allows you to sit in the shade or out of the rain, and that's where you'll also find most amenities, such as toys/balls and launchers, water, treats, towels, and baggies. Access: There are two driveways onto the property. Use the north entry, with the "Pepper's Pasture" sign. After driving up that driveway, you'll see a "Sniffspot" sign on the gate into the pasture. Construction/site work: we are building beside the driveway that leads to the sniffspot. If your experience is disturbed by activity at that site (it's infrequent but can be unpredictable and might be noisy), please contact me for a promo code for your next visit. You might see me and/or a helper gardening alongside the driveway--feel free to say hi, ask questions, or ignore us. Compostible donations are appreciated (the pile is outside of the spot and has a sign). Good things to compost include leaves, chemical-free grass clippings, used coffee grounds, rotten pumpkins, or veggie scraps.
