124 Acre Conservation Farm Trails Fields Fun

We also are now offering Snifferdogz brand merch! Malaney Creek Farm is a 124 acre conservation farm comprised of fields, forest and wetlands. 3+ miles of private trails, open grassy fields. Trails are marked to keep you pointed in the right direction. Picnic tables, covered areas to duck out of the weather and portable restroom with hand sanitizer. Your sniffspot staging area is located in what we call our "Cascara" campsite. Covered picnic table, adirondack chairs, firepit and a big green grassy field. This spot is a central location near the portable restroom, easy drive in access, and a base location for exploring the trail network. Our trail system has been a labor of love. We enjoy providing unique experiences and highlighting the natural beauty of the forest and wetlands on the property. Once home to giant cedar trees the property was purchased by the Great Northern Railway in the late 1800's. A railroad system was built here and the giant cedars logged and milled onsite. You wouldn't be able to tell that now as the forest is doing a wonderful job of repairing itself. We do have a few artifacts scattered about that have been found that you will see on your walks. A large concrete trestle base, railway beams, rail spikes and misc metal items from the trains and equipment. Most of our trails accommodate hiking and mountain bikes (yes E-bikes are allowed ;), however the hiking only trails are really evolving. Our new wetlands trail is a quick link between Casacara and the Beargrass island trail. It is foot traffic only and features hand hewn cedar bridges made from cedar logs left behind by the logging operation over 100 years ago! Log rounds to hop across wet areas and places to stop and soak in the quiet. There is a diverse landscape of rare native plants on this hike and foraging opportunities abound! Fiddle head ferns, chicken of the woods and more! Our most prized flora is a large patch of Labrador Tea. A very rare species of plant related to the rhododendron that native american peoples used as a medicinal healing tea. So come out and explore! Bring appropriate footwear, your furry hiking buddies, a bottled water, and a camera. We look forward to hosting you! PLEASE NOTE, IF YOU CANCEL WITHIN THE 2 HOUR WINDOW BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT THERE ARE NO REFUNDS. WE BLOCK OUT ALL DAY BOOKINGS FOR SNIFFSPOT APPOINTMENTS. Check out our website, insta and FB page for more photos too! Happy Sniffing!!

Beautiful area, very clean. As long as you read the directions it’s not too hard to find! My boy had a blast and I’ll definitely be going back! Do keep in mind that there is no fencing, at least not any that I could see.

My first visit was great! This is a special place and I’m looking forward to coming back. I came expecting mud but still wasn’t quite prepared (it’s early spring and the tide flats were exposed by a low tide). Dog, car, bathroom, and person all needed a serious bath afterward, but it was worth it. She ran and ran and ran :D Lovely local eggs were a bonus!

This sniffspot was magical😍 I’ve been trying to book here for months! I drove 40 minutes to this beautiful place. All 3 of my dogs did not stop exploring and they had the time of their lives. We even stayed when it started raining. This place is like something out of a movie. Endless trails for my dogs to run, sniff, play and explore. I cannot wait to go back!

Our dogs had a great time splashing in the mud! Make sure you wear appropriate footwear. There is no gate for entry so be aware of that if you have an escape artist. Long gravel drive opening further down into a meadow and the tidal flats beyond that. Our dogs are large and pulled us down the hill until we felt we were far enough from the road to let them off leash. Not an issue if you don’t have a puller but it was a little tuff for us to wrangle the decent. All in all a lovely spot and our dogs loved it.

Not hard to find and fairly close to the high at but feels very rural and peaceful. Dogs loved the waterfall and stream and all the sniffs.

Wonderful as always. It's a great bath day treat. We like going at low tide so they can thoroughly enjoy the mud. Thank you Anja for sharing your home.

Definitely muddy, but thanks to the comments we came prepared! Our 2 German Shorthaired Pointers ran for the full hour and smelled everything. So much room to run around and the dogs didn’t have trouble with boundaries or neighbors, and this was our 2 year olds first time off a leash. We will be regulars!

The sniff spot is beautiful. It is important to follow directions and respect the neighbors yards and keep the dogs on leash until the actual sniff spot. We will definitely be back.

It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.

All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 97% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Olympia area are 5 stars.
