Description

Welcome to the Rock Quarry Rd. - Private Dog Park in Raleigh! We have 1 acre fully fenced in with lots of room and enrichment opportunities for your dog! We cannot wait to share our space with you! ABOUT THE SPACE The yard is fully fenced in. We have a 4ft wire fence around the property. The back fence is a 6ft privacy fence. The largest opening is 5in at the bottom of the fence. There are no shared fence lines, our yard is ideal for reactive or sensitive pups. *There is construction happening at the property next door to us, so if you book during weekdays there may be some construction/machinery noise & distractions* 🥇We officially have a beginners agility course! It includes 3 jumps, 1 hoop jump, a tunnel, and weave poles. We hope you and your pup love it! 🎾 The space comes with dog toys, tennis balls, place cots, digging sand, dog waste bags/ trash can, and a short but smell-filled nature “trail”. Our yard is filled with squirrels and birds and your dog will love following their scents through the brush. The area is made up of short grass, overgrown brush along the fence lines, and sandy soil. 🌳 Perfect shady spot for the summer! We have many mature trees which provide great shade but there are also large grassy spots where you can get full sun. A table and chairs are provided in the shade, as well as a covered area. 💧Water for dogs is provided, as is a water bowl. You’re welcome to use the hose to rinse your dog off but we ask that you don’t bath your dog or run the water for long periods of time. Our house runs on a small well so we have to reserve water. (The well is enclosed and located far outside of the fenced area). While we do live in the house on the property, it is very unlikely that you’ll see us. On weekends, Connor may be working in the shop building, but will not be loud and will remain out of the backyard. If you have an especially reactive pet, send us a message and Connor will take a break during your stay. We want to ensure that your time is as private as possible. :) Our own dog will be secured inside the house. We ask that you keep your dog away from the back door of the house. For safety, we do have security cameras located around the property. Our house is far back off of the road. When you enter the driveway, you will pass our neighbor who is located at the road. They have dogs that will likely bark when you drive past them. They are fully enclosed in a privacy fence and cannot be seen from our yard but they can be heard if they’re barking. Otherwise you should not see or hear any domestic animals. Don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any questions!

Hazards

It is recommended that you wear closed toe shoes if walking along the fence lines. *There are significant patches of poison ivy along the back fence and in the wooded area.* We are cutting the roots and spraying the poison ivy with a non-toxic vinegar solution to kill the poison ivy. In the summer months, we love letting parts of the land grow wild along the fence so you may come across thorns as we have wild blackberry vines. The property used to be a mechanic’s shop and we are still cleaning up scraps left from the previous owner along the back fence line. We feel that the property is safe and our dogs have never gotten into trouble but we ask you to be aware and use your best judgment when exploring with your dog. The last photos in the album show the areas with the remaining scraps.

Our pup had so much fun at this spot! The fence around the entire property made us feel that our pup was safe and secure. It was also really nice to have access to water from the hose. We had a great time and will definitely be coming back!

We really enjoy this sniff spot! The space to run is amazing! There is a new way to get to the gate- the host sent me a message to let me know. The picture in the instructions was super useful. The “dirt driveway” part has nit been driven on too much so I missed seeing it. If you fork right immediately after you turn left at the 5514 sign (do not go towards the house) then you will drive kinda up through the wooded area to the original drive that is now the entrance.

I will definitely be back. This was our first Sniffspot experience. They have everything you need! It is super private and perfect for your doggos that need that one on one time. So much room to roam and toys for them. Definitely a place I hope to frequent!

Hi! We are the new residents and are excited to keep the Sniff Spot open! We have a newly rescued Akita and love all animals. We’re happy to continue offering this wonderful yard to the community and hope you’ll enjoy it as much as we do! Please note that our property’s water comes from a small, private well. We therefore have to conserve water and ask that when you use the hose out back to fill the dog bowl, you make sure to turn it off at the spigot & don’t leave it running for extended periods of time. Thank you for understanding :)
