This was a nice hike in the woods. My dog and I walk a lot of flat trails so it was nice to do something different for a change. Plenty of sniffing to be done!
Great place to bring dogs knowing you won’t encounter anyone else!
A nice spot if you and your dog are athletic. I read before hand that the terrain was rough. One of my dogs had a TPLO almost a year ago, so it was challenging for him. If your looking for a great workout, this is the place to go!
Lots of room to explore and sniff. Would recommend keeping dog leashed but with a long leash for extra sniffing and I will wear hiking shoes next time.
Great land to let you pups run free! If needing to be leashed I would recommend a flexi or 6 foot lead, as longer leads will easily get caught on stuff. It was awesome being able to let them run free through that much woods without the stress of running into others. It’s newer trails so nothing is marked, but it’s pretty easy to find your way. The boundaries/property lines were marked so that was helpful in insuring we didn’t cross into someone else’s property. Greg was super helpful in answering all of my questions! Def will be coming back :)
Gregory was very kind and helpful when we arrived for our first time. The spot is beautiful and my sometimes reactive boy and I were able to have a wonderful, relaxing trail walk. Killian seemed to want to walk up the long driveway as well to smell the flowers and Gregory was very accommodating in allowing him to enjoy the sights! We are very much looking forward to going back again.
This was a great experience for my anxious pup! He loved having the woods to himself and I loved being able to drop his leash without worrying. It was fantastic!
Beautiful place, just wish there was a small sign saying we were in the right spot, looked like the woods were being cut down, which was totally ok, but I wasn’t sure we were in the right spot. After looking at the pics and the host said when we see the wood chips, I knew we were there. Saw a beautiful owl as we were walking in!! Had I looked at the pics first, in more depth, I quotient seen that we were in the right spot. Will absolutely go back!
My dogs enjoyed running in the trail and sniffing the area and relaxing!
For starters, Greg was super helpful and very welcoming, yet respectful of our space with the dogs. There are so many acres to explore, and my dogs had a blast!! The property was recently excavated so as mentioned in the description it is skidder tracks so wear correct foot attire! Will definitely be back when it’s not so darn hot (my dogs tired out quickly) Thank you so much Greg!
Our first visit was in the winter when everything was covered in snow. The skidder roads are getting a nice beaten tread to them - we'd come regardless of the condition but I think it's a good
Always a treat..beautiful property!
Great spot! We will be back! For our reactive friends - only heard some dogs barking but didn’t see them. We use a long line and there’s a ton of branches so ours got stuck quite a bit but didn’t dampen our great time!
Greg was so nice and he’s doing amazing things with his land! Can’t wait to come back!
Wonderful place...big and open and would probably be amazing in the other seasons! We will be back thank you ❤️
This place was perfect for us!! Three dogs (including 1 partially deaf & 1 reactive) is a lot to manage at most parks; Walnut Hill was the nicest walk we've had in a long time - maybe the dogs didn't notice but it was such a treat for me to not be on full attention for other hikers the whole time! Easily spent our full 1.5 hour time slot; it's a large property and we can't wait to go back. The girls were so happy and free. Owner is super nice too, came out to welcome us and gave some tips on the trails. They're skidder roads from a recent timber harvest - might be a little rough in the spring but just fine now and even if not, I'd still come here over other places. It's quiet and not a sheet of ice!
