Our 2.5 acre park is a tranquil path through the woods with multiple path options and limitless nature to behold, accompanied by a soundtrack of birds and insects. The ample trails that cover the park are easy to traverse, and your dogs will be delighted exploring the endless smells in between those paths to sniff…and pee on. If you love to hike with your dog but wish they could be off leash to investigate the wonders of the woods so you can marvel at the variety of ferns and fungi, this is the place to let your dog run free without worrying about them getting lost. The trails and fencing are a continual work in progress, maintained and built over a decade and then some. We ask our own dogs to help decide where any new paths should go, and if there are any gaps in the perimeter fencing, we hope you and your dogs will do the same. Please be mindful of roots and rocks along the paths, the trail is more natural in some places than others. Get your birding app ready, put your running shoes on, bring your camera and binoculars--there is more to this park than joyous zoomies for your dog! Let them sniff every plant. Let them race through the garden rows. And yes—let them dig! We don't mind. Our field is mowed weekly, but this is real country property—not artificial turf or a perfectly manicured lawn. You may find bare spots, dirt, leaves, sticks and, occasionally, a little something another four-legged visitor left behind before we found it. That's okay. Dogs aren't looking for perfection. We take care of the dogs, but we haven't forgotten their people. Cold drinks, snacks and frozen treats are available for purchase in the She Shed refrigerator and freezer. While the pasture is uncut and has tall native grasses for your dog to run through, the perimeter of the pasture is well maintained and mowed so that you can clearly see where you're walking. The perimeter is also bordered by native trees and perennials which host a variety of birds (herons, osprey, eagles, hawks, ducks, geese, and many songbirds), as well as butterflies (monarchs and swallowtails).
