55My dogs and I love Nacole’s! The front half is inviting, but honestly, we spend all of our time on the donkey trails! If you don’t mind wearing pants and a hoodie, this spot is amazing to trek through. There is some overgrowth of some perfectly harmless plants (don’t let puppies eat the foxglove, adult dogs shouldn’t be interested) that might irritate bare legs or arms but are truly no problem and the dogs LOVE racing through it! Lots of cleared areas, there are some structures that are stable to sit on or have your dog sit on, and there are others that are more wobbly. Go through the first gate (opens on the right) when you get here and then if you want to experience your dog in the woods then head back and to the right and you’ll find the “horse gate” to the second half of the property. This gate also opens on the right. There are dogs barking in the garage and on adjacent properties only if you’re making a lot of noise nearby, but their radius of reactivity is extremely limited so none of my reactive dogs truly cared. The donkeys were a fun training challenge, we got to work on quiet and leaving them alone while we practiced sit stays and scatters, and then we got to practice our “leave it” with donkey poop. It’s a true rural experience in the woods but the most secure “faux hiking” experience I’ve had in Arlington so far. Close to downtown and the freeway.
55Really great place for dogs to explore. We had a really good time. Next time, for our dogs, we will go beyond the house and yard with dogs leashed where there is another gate leading to the trails and wild areas before unleashing. This is just good way to guide our dogs to the area we want them in. Really fun!
55Lots of space to run around & explore!
45Fenced pasture with lots of undergrowth does somewhat limit the dogs running but mine still had a great time. Note that there is a lot of donkey poop for dogs to eat.
55First time visiting, it wasn't difficult to get to, although I always look for Sniffspot signage just to be sure and we didn't see any. There was a large mowed area around the house and more like trails in the back area. Of course my dogs were a little confused the first visit about what to do, but we enjoyed the vist. Fully fenced.
55Great location with a lot of fun things for our dogs to sniff and explore!
35There was some confusion on where to go. No signage. When going into the part where there are supposed to be trails you have to walk through piles of donkey poop. The trails aren’t really trails. There are lots of trees and bushes. Wasn’t the best fit for my reactive dog due to the donkeys being within the Sniffspot even behind the wire fence. We left early. Host was really nice though!
35A bit tricky to figure out where to go without signs. We had to walk past the house through the lawn to get to the second gate, and I still aren't quite sure that was right. The donkeys are so sweet and friendly. They are right next to the fenced off area, so be aware if your dogs may not do well with that. Only water we saw is a water trough.
15There was a bit off confusion figuring out where to go, as there were no signs. A LOT more animal poop than expected, and I spent the whole 5 minutes we were there wrangling my dogs away from the fence line where there was another dog. Highly don’t recommend for reactive dogs.
55My favorite spot! There’s grassy lawn and woods, trails, chickens and donkeys. My dogs had the best time.

Hi, I’m Nacole. I’ve got 2 happy German Shepards who are learning to share their space with other friends. Please don’t mind them in the garage if they say something. They are working on being quiet, and it’s coming along pretty good!

Hike up the mini forest

Our property is shy of 12 acres, 9+ acres of which we're sharing as a private off leash dog space or Sniffspot. The entrance is over the bridge where the creek is and 'From Creek to Back of Property' is all yours to explore. You may unleash your doggies right after the bridge and chain the gate if you want. Dogs might run down the creek for a splash or drink. Continue on to our family campground, there are picnic tables you could use. Then, up the hill you go to 'hike up the mini forest', free to roam around, listen to the birds, squirrels and other critters and sounds that nature brings you. You'll find seating areas while your dogs are at play, feel free to use them. Enjoy a picnic with your loved ones if you're up for it on one of the cabin porches or covered / uncovered picnic tables. The back of property behind fence is DNR land, so rest assured you’re on your own private little world with your furry buddies. The mini forest has some large walking paths and smaller trails scattered about, also some open meadows and is at a peaceful wooded setting. This is where I go to unwind and relieve my head of stress and worries. It’s my place of meditation, while my dogs sniff and romp around like crazy, do their zoomies and play hide n seek! *If you want to save a little bit of moolah, check out Sniffpass. Forget about the gym, you'll get your exercise here with your dogs. If you have older dog/s and would like to drive below the hill to park so the fur buddy don't get exhausted, message me.* Some of you have asked about the cabins. Sniffspot is unavailable if Cabins are booked or vice versa. Booking is through Hipcamp (www.hipcamp.com). Name of listing: 'Grace E.'s Mini Forest Cabins'. Check it out by copying and pasting link below to browser or Search listing through the hipcamp site. https://www.hipcamp.com/en-US/land/washington-grace-e-s-mini-forest-ex9hrrp8?shareid=1ddvuyvr3yh Saturdays are usually blocked if there's Hipcamp bookings. But I would unblock the hours for Sniffspot use if that day isn't booked for Hipcamp, so please try to check back, who knows that day might be available! Anyway, hope you too will enjoy your little 'hike up the mini forest..'
