Meet the crew with our Farm & Fur experience! Take a guided walk through the farm and get up close with pigs, chickens, ducks, geese, donkeys, cows and more. Learn a little, laugh a lot, and experience real farm life in a relaxed, down-to-earth setting. It’s the perfect add-on for animal lovers — and a fun break between river time and trail adventures. (Dogs may need to remain leashed during the farm tour for the safety of the animals.)

🐶🌿 Camp Cruso Sniffspot Rules 🐾 Dog Safety & Behavior Dogs must be under control at all times (verbal or physical). Dogs with a history of aggression must be closely supervised. Please pick up after your dog and dispose of waste properly. Excessive barking should be minimized out of respect for neighbors and animals. 🐕 Off-Leash Policy Dogs are welcome to be off-leash in designated areas only. Owners are responsible for ensuring their dog stays within allowed zones. Please leash dogs when entering/exiting the property or near restricted areas. 🐔 Livestock & Farm Animal Safety (VERY IMPORTANT) No chasing, harassing, or approaching livestock. Dogs must be leashed or kept at a safe distance near farm animals. Do not enter animal enclosures unless part of a guided experience. This is a working farm — respecting the animals is essential. 🌊 River Safety Use river access at your own risk. Water levels and conditions can change — please use caution. Dogs should be supervised at all times near the water. 🌲 Property Boundaries Please stay within marked and permitted areas. Do not cross into neighboring properties or restricted zones. Follow signage and maps provided. 🧑‍🌾 Respect for the Property This is a working farm and private property — please treat it with care. Leave gates as you found them (open or closed). Howdy! We’re the family behind Camp Cruso, a 100-acre working farm nestled in the mountains along the East Fork of the Pigeon River. We share our land with a mix of animals, trails, open pasture, and river access—and we love giving people (and their dogs) the chance to enjoy it in a peaceful, private setting. Our Sniffspot is best suited for experienced dog owners with well-behaved dogs who have strong recall and low prey drive. This is a natural, unfenced environment and an active farm, so safety, awareness, and respect for the land and animals are essential. We created this space for those who value room to roam, quiet surroundings, and a more authentic outdoor experience—not a crowded or overly structured dog park. We’re also home to our nonprofit, aGRITculture, focused on land stewardship and community connection. Your visit helps support both the farm and our mission. Our spacious backyard is fully fenced in with 4 gates, two of which are accessible for entry. The main gate is opened by a FOB which can be left outside for easy retrieval. Our dog loves to look at the chickens next door, play fetch, and chew on the many sticks in the yard. A large water bowl can be provided for pet use and drinks can be provided for animal parents upon request. We have hammocks and plenty of shaded area in the yard. We have kids and their toys are out and about, and we welcome families to use them. Your pet won’t get bored exploring this giant play area.

Welcome to Pondside Paws Park, located in a quiet valley 15 minutes outside of downtown Asheville NC. Here you will find a peaceful, fully fenced in half acre lot with a pond for your pups to swim, romp, sniff, play and have a great time. For those more adventurous dogs, there's even a dock for jumping into the pond! There are opportunities for enjoying the pond regardless of your dog's age or exercise ability, as there is a shallow area with tall grass for wading and splashing, and a deeper area for swimming. The slope of the land is gentle for those older dogs as well- this spot is suitable for dogs of all ages and abilities. For the humans, we have several seating options including a picnic table and 4 chairs under a shade sail. Bug spray, sunscreen, fresh drinking water for the dogs and a tote full of toys is also provided in the weatherproof storage shed next to the seating area. Waste bags are available if needed, although we appreciate people bringing their own, and there is a waste container located at the entrance, next to the kiddie pool that is used to rinse off muddy paws. It's recommended that you bring a towel to dry them off before getting back into your car. We hope you enjoy the spot and leave it as you found it for others to enjoy as well.
