We professionally fenced 1.5 acres of our field and creek. * We recommend booking 90 minutes minimum, as it can be a long drive and you want to make sure you’re really enjoy your time there. (You can message us for discount coupons - we would rather you book longer, and use a coupon.) Please walk the property before you let your dogs off leash ** to make sure there are not any 🫎 moose along the creek. ** * Please bag and clean up your poop. Most people have been we do go through the property twice a week and sometimes find poop. 💩 . Please respect the land and clean up after your dogs. If we have to hire a poop cleanup person, the cost will go up. ** Moose can be aggressive to dogs and people. If you see one, please leave and we will reimburse you.**** We try to be very communicative on the chat app, so please check the chat or let me know if you have questions, hit traffic, need extra time (I can add extra time but need to communicate with you to make sure we don't have overlap). *Also - if your dog has special sensitives, you can let us know as well and we can try to work with you (i.e. let you know if a neighbor is having a party or such before you drive up the canyon).

* Spring Hazards! Moose and ticks!! Please read carefully. The creek could start rushing soon. If it gets too fast we will close the spot temporarily. But use caution when you first arrive and check the creek intensity. Also moose 🫎 are aggressive to dogs and people. Always check for moose before letting dogs out. Leave if you see a moose, and we will reimburse. **If your dog is reactive to other dogs, please drive through the gate into the Spot. The cute little dog across the street, on very rare occassions, has run over to say hello. Better to pull into spot and close gate behind you, if your dog can be unpredictable. *** **This is a riparian area, and MOOSE are sometimes wandering through it. Moose can be dangerous, especially to dogs. Please walk the area before allowing your dog off leash. If you see a moose, leave the area and message me and your money will be reimbursed. Or keep your dog leashed and enjoy the area that is not in the vicinity of the moose/creek area. *** This is a HIGH FIRE Danger area! ** Please NO Smoking, NO FIRES! The creek is lovely, but any water is dangerous potentially. **Look for snowdrifts that could decrease the fence height. If you park by the gate, be careful turning around. The little bridge is very narrow. Be careful of footing crossing the wood bridge over the creek to access the small area on the south side of the sniffspot. Be careful of footing in general (lots of holes by digging dogs!) There should be bear spray in the plastic bin by entry gate. You might want to consider carrying this with you in case of 🫎 moose. Also, some people have underestimated the time it takes to get to the spot. I would give yourself an extra 15 minutes just to make sure you don’t miss some of your time. If you do get stuck in traffic, please message me, and if I see it, I can try to block off a little extra time for you . But that’s not always possible or I might not see your message. So better to plan for some delays. * also the weather up there is usually 10 to 15° cooler than down below. We recommend carrying extra layers - and bringing some towels. Also it’s VERY windy in that valley!

***Please walk fenced area before releasing your dog due to potential of MOOSE presence along creek corridor, or in Aspen grove. *Check the creek level, to make sure your dog cannot sneak under fence where it crosses the creek. * Neighbors on the southeast corner do have dogs. So far, those dogs have not run up to the fence, but please keep an ear open. If you hear dogs over there, you might want to avoid that area if your dog is reactive to other dogs. (It is the area across the bridge). *Be careful crossing the creek on the little bridge, it is fairly sturdy but the footing can be rugged on the uphill part of creek. You are welcome to take your dogs into the "tiny house" enclosure. The beach down there is nice to sit at. Feel free to move chairs around. Be careful parking, please clean up any poop.

Hi ! I’m Emily - I’m a huge dog lover and built this Sniffspot with my friends at Summit Dog Rescue. We always dreamed of fencing a piece of this beautiful land for dogs - and this past spring the dream came true. I’m also a certified professional dog trainer, and love dogs having the opportunity to express and engage in their species specific behaviors- especially sniffing, digging and feeling a sense of freedom (agency). Please do not park in the driveway or block the driveway for any reason. When you walk up, there is a sidewalk on the left side of the garage that leads to the backyard/sniff spot! The gate is kind of old, so there is a bungee cord to help it stay shut. We have one neighbor dog on each side that are sometimes outside. The course is changed every Monday morning. Course maps are in the box hanging on the entrance gate.
