Ensure a safe and enjoyable off-leash area experience for all users by taking responsibility for your dog's actions (SMMC 4.04.370 & 4.04.380). Dogs must display a City of Santa Monica dog license tag, or a City of Santa Monica issued non-resident permit tag at Airport Park. (SMMC 4.04.170, Resolutions 10244, 10245) Your dog must be leashed when traveling to and from off-leash areas, with a leash six feet or less in fixed length. (SMMC 4.04.155) Dogs over 4 months of age must be licensed and vaccinated for rabies. (SMMC 4.04.300) You must visibly carry clean up materials and use them to clean up after your dog. (SMMC 4.04.370, 4.04.380, 4.04.385 & Resolution 10244) Keep vicious dogs out of off-leash areas unless muzzled and on a leash. (SMMC 4.12.090) Remove your dog if it barks, cries or yelps for more than five minutes in any one hour period. (SMMC 4.12.090) Comply with specific maximum capacity limits for each off-leash area - Airport and Joslyn Parks, no more than 45 dogs; Memorial Park Run, no more than 10 dogs; and Pacific Street Park, no more than 20 dogs. (Resolution 10244) Do not bring more than four dogs into an off-leash area at one time. (Resolution 10244) Do not bring dog or human food into off leash areas. (SMMC 4.04.390) Dog not bring your dog into an off leash area if it is in heat. (SMMC 4.04.390) Dogs are not allowed in public school grounds, public buildings, City playgrounds, playing fields or tennis courts. (SMMC 4.04.160)
