55My friend and I arranged a doggy play date here for our playful fur babies. This was our first time using the Sniffspot app, if all sites are like this one, we are fans! We were both pleased with the location! Short trails throughout the property. The shallow creek was a favorite for these pups. Communication with the host was effortlessly. We’ll be back for a lengthier stay.
55It’s very peaceful and beautiful space! I was very thankful that I was able to come and be in a space with my dogs, where they can run around and be dogs without worrying about them! I will definitely be returning as my dogs were tuckered out after the hour of fun that they had there!🤍
55Such a great area to get your dogs used to hikes without having to worry about anyone else around. We did the trails a few times, and our dogs really loved the creek that ran through the property. There’s tons of places to sit, there’s even a fire pit, as well as some fun bubbles and extra leashes and poop bags (just incase you forget). For sure saving for another visit!
55Everything was nice and clean. Fencing was sturdy and in good repair. Our two dogs had a great time running and playing everywhere. We'll definitely come back!
55Such a beautiful, peaceful spot. My pup had the best time running around and exploring (and trying to eat the water). Definitely would visit again.
55Fun short trails and creek to play in.
55Lovely spot with well marked signs and all the essentials for a good time!
55Beautiful place, we had a great time. Communication was excellent, we will be back!
55Dogs had an amazing time. The creek was great for a cool down period. Will definitely come back.
55The name says it all! Gorgeous landscape and plenty of space to run your heart out. The creek was a big hit! The varying elevation was perfect for lots of hopping and energy burning. We saw the area for diggers and really liked the idea although our 3 pups were very busy getting all their sniffs out. We will definitely be back in the future - thank you! It was a bit out of the way for us but absolutely worth the drive!

Location

Description

Off-grid Sniffspot location in rural Snohomish Washington! You will have the entire 5-acre property to yourself to enjoy! This part of our property is only used for Sniffspot guests. Would be perfect for those that don’t want to interact with others (i.e. cars driving by, strangers, the neighbors... ‘chatty hosts/property owners’😉). Safe place for adventurous individuals that prefer to explore alone with their doggo(s), a doggie daycare retreat, a memorable late evening of star-gazing, or a safe place for a highly reactive dog to have fun. Details: 5 acres, off-grid experience (no power or running water) with it’s own private entrance. Two grassy sloping yard areas with “Tranquility Trails” that loop up the hill. Secluded, native woodland with mowed grass. There are (overgrown) cottage style gardens. During your visit, feel free to pick blueberries, wild blackberries, apples or roses — or pull weeds — if that’s fun for you. 😉. This location is very relaxing. Plan for a couple hours or more to enjoy the quiet, rural lifestyle. TIP: if you have any concerns about your pup(s) going down the driveway, feel free to close the gate for added safety. Note: We are raising money to renovate the cottage located on the property by hosting a Sniffspot. Please do not explore inside the house, a roof collapse could happen before we can arrange for it to be replaced.

Cleanliness

100% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

Native woodland experience. We are out in the country and people may periodically light off fireworks or shoot guns in the distance. They are not close to the property, but the noise carries. As of January 2022: it appears the cute little neighbor kid got a equally adorable lil’ dirt bike from Santa this year. You may hear it zipping around on their 5-acres, but there’s fencing on that side. They also added a goat pen with contained chickens along our fence line. You will likely hear them. (A country kid living the best childhood EVER.😊)

We purchased our property in the Spring of 1998. Our kids have grown up here and opened the Spot(s) while in college. Now, we host! We have always had working dogs that rarely leave the property, so we understand how important Spots like ours are to others. The decision to host was made to raise funds to renovate a guest house that’s located on the 5 acres. This location is very relaxing, so take lots of time just to enjoy the quiet, rural lifestyle.

Enjoy our quiet rural setting on our 5+ acres with our fully fenced 1 acre play area for your dogs. Our beautiful very scenic Barkley Park sits on over 5 acres, just 3 miles from Old Town Lake Stevens. A little over an acre is securely and newly fenced for your dogs to free run for safe exercise. Our large acreage is open for you to explore and walk as well. Enjoy different places to sit and take in the landscape and open spaces of nature while your dogs gets to play and safe exercise. A lovely place for a picnic. Our park has both sunny areas, and shady areas at all times of the day. Fetch on a few different long, and large lawns that are non fenced that are for Zone Fetching off leash, for those that are in full control of the friendly dogs. We are off the road and a safe quiet private property. No mud ever, all of our property drains properly and is well maintained. We have plenty of parking, our setting is very private above large homestead acreage quiet farmland fields of the Schwarzmiller River Valley, Barkley Park is just 3 miles from old town Lake Stevens. If you choose to be adventurous you may choose to visit the forest area behind the fenced area. It’s a steep hill up with natural woodland ground, lots of ferns, beautiful nature untouched. Old trails exist, we have not cleared them in recent years, very safe exercise, just watch your footing. We have running water with a hose for your convenience at our pump house. You may often see myself, my husband and my mother enjoying the house yard, and patio, working on the property and gardens, area around our homes. An occasional family member might stop by our house unannounced, and deliveries might occur. We live above a farm who takes care of their fields so you may hear mowing in the distance in the valley we set above. We also have 2 very large friendly cats. Please be careful with your dogs if you see an occasional cat. Please leash your dog/dogs upon arrival until you become aware of the setting. Enjoy! Alder trails SniffSpot

Our property is located off the Burn Road in Arlington and is 5 acres, 1 of which is fully fenced and there are about 3+ acres of woods that have a trails throughout that we are constantly trying to add onto. Access to the backyard will be through the double gates on the south side of the house. Access to the trails can be either gate along the back fence. We just ask that you close whichever gate you use upon entrance and exit. The trails currently are just shy of 1/4 of mile looping back to the gates of the fenced in backyard. We do have a seasonal pond in the woods that we plan on trying to expand access too (it’s a work in progress). The fence is 3.5 feet high split rail with chain link very secure, the back portion of fencing is strictly chain link same height but acts as a natural looking wild fence. Dogs can play ball, sniff around, and run off lease in the fenced yard. Dogs with good recall can be off leash on the trails and run throughout. We do have neighbors where our woods end that are mostly fenced but some do not have fencing (which is why recall is needed). There is no delineation between the neighbor to the north’s huge pasture area which would be off limits. Please enjoy yourself and let us know if you have any ideas to add to the property. The pictures were taken during the winter months, the property and trails are so much prettier during the spring through fall months. Thank you for stopping by.k
