55We had another great day at the holler. My reactive dog enjoyed roaming the trails on the beautiful spring day. Although one side of the property is open to a couple neighbors we have rarely seen or heard anyone there. Today was no exception: It was very quiet and serene, with only the birds chirping. Since my dog is reactive I do keep him on a long lead when we are on the side of the property by the neighbors. I recommend good walking shoes too and using a walking stick when traversing the woodland trails. On parts of the trails there are loose rocks and sometimes a few roots that can be tripping hazards. I just pick up a large stick on the trail to use as a walking stick and it has help me avoid a fall a few times. Overall, a great Sniffspot that we return to often.
55Great spot! My dog spent most of her time sniffing and exploring the trails. It’s a great place to practice recall. The field is spacious for running and playing fetch as well. 😊
55We had a fantastic time at The Holler. It was a peaceful, perfect combo of a huge, grassy field and forest paths to explore. My puppy bounded through the grass and trails, while my old dog delighted himself looking for deer scat to eat. I was hoping I was staying in boundary lines, but I didn’t hear any other people or dogs at neighboring properties.I really appreciated the parking sign as well. Thanks for a great visit!
55We absolutely loved this spot! So beautiful, well kept, and soooo much room for the pups to run, climb and explore.
55Lovely property with plenty of space to roam and sniff!
55Had a wonderful time as always. Thank you for sharing your beautiful property with us.
55Lovely visit as always. We thoroughly enjoy the well-kept field and the trail.
55We always enjoy visiting “The Holler”. It’s so quiet and peaceful and my dog really enjoys sniffing and running through the wooded trails. There were are a couple new trails since we last visited which was an added pleasure. There is one side of the property that borders a couple neighbors. I usually keep my dog on a long lead on that side but we’ve never seen another dog and have only on rare occasion seen or heard other people. This is one of our favorite Sniffspots that we return to often!
55Gorgeous place!

A world-class Pacific Northwest natural rainforest adventure awaits you and your best friends on 66-year-old trails, through 2 acres of trails, forest, tall old growth trees, a creek, and open areas for ball throwing and chasing sticks on 9 terraces. Starting with your choice of 2 entrance paths on the far left and right over a bluff that winds around to The Landing Pad, through other trails forming circles to run around on and play. ('Yes, there are 2 paths you can go by'). At the very bottom, our Madhatter trail leads to a creek. The property is partially fenced and has natural barriers. It is bounded by a fence at the top, a fence on one L-shaped side, a cliff, and creek on the other. Bring more than one dog, if at all possible, because they LOVE to play 'Hide and Go Seek', and chase each other around in circles on the switchback trails, down the hill to the creek and back up the hill to the lodge. This tranquil forest was mostly clear-cut between 66 to 100 years ago then not replanted. So we replanted our 2-acre forest with 600+ trees. The ground is wood chips, sand, Pacific Northwest duff, with 160ft tall Hemlock, Douglas Fir, Alder, Big Leaf Maple trees, 1 Madrona, ferns, and native bushes with views of a 20-acre privately owned forested wetland. We prepared the yard as a Sniffspot for dogs. Rarely seen are animals in the forest - occasional wild rabbits, moles, squirrels, mountain beavers, raccoons, mice, shrews, voles, and weasels. Many birds are seen and heard here- thrush, grosbeaks, warblers, sparrows, starlings, chickadees, flycatchers, redstarts, vireos, tanager, pewees, orioles, woodpeckers - shorebirds, waterfowl, raptors, such as hawks, and American Bald Eagles. This is a rugged forested area so be careful of footing! watch for signs of moles and Mountain beaver underground trails crossing the paths, especially along Secret Lane, Lover's Lane, and Hidden Lane (signs to be added soon). Do wear boots if you plan to access the creek. We spent 4+ years removing invasive bushes, cutting down dead trees, and creating places for you to run, walk, play, pause, sit, and enjoy your dogs in this natural rainforest, one mile from the South Sound. When you park you can close the entry gate at the top. We feel a lot of delight here. We welcome you to enjoy it now! 2 Starbucks are less than 5 minutes away in either direction (bathrooms are available there). Bigfoot Java is at 4627 SW 320th St. (no bathroom but open 24x7) Join us on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=61556216197208 or search "Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot" :-) Wonderlane is a place to commune with nature, a peaceful place to breathe in nature with some walks over and around 2 acres of forested hills. You can't get lost, just keep going up if you are unsure. When it is raining and for water dogs, bring a towel to dry off pups' paws. There is water to wash dogs down near the creek. Actually there are water hydrants in most areas. If your dog is reactive and you want to, you may keep your pup leashed the 20 ft from your vehicle to the top of either trailhead. When leaving via either trail at the top you can easily pause to leash your dog if you wish. PS. If your dog doesn't want to leave, contact me and I'll ring the Magic Chuck Waggin' Triangle, and your dog will come. No worries! Toss garbage away at the top driveway as you exit in the large gray bin marked "Garbage".
