Description

Our backyard is a half acre of fully fenced fun! Conveniently located and ample parking. Tons of room to run and sniff! Half of the backyard is grass. The other half is a mix of pollinators and weeds awaiting my picking. It was all buckthorn when we bought the house in 2021 😬 I use natural methods to control weeds by hand picking, cardboard and tarps for smothering patches of weeds as I work on slowly planting the “wild area.” The cardboard is pretty ugly, but it’s very effective in killing invasive weeds. So far I’ve planted more than 150 varieties of perennials 🌻

Please be sure to check that all gates are closed before letting your dog off leash. We do our best to make sure they are closed before your visit, but it’s always a good idea to check. We have three gates. One gate is located on the left and right of the house. The third gate is located in “left field" in the back left of the yard. A few wild rabbits consider our backyard home so expect small rabbit turds sprinkled throughout the property (mostly in the wild area). We live near a nature preserve so deer occasionally pass through our property at dawn and dusk and may leave surprise droppings.

Please bring water.* The water is usually left ready to go, but the spigot on the side of the house is off. To use it, open the valve on the side of the house by the driveway. When you leave, please shut it off again, it tends to drip otherwise. Thanks!

Be careful of any ice that may be around - the “grippy stuff” I put down is cat litter for traction… totally dog safe!
