There are 15 acres of native prairie grasses and plants. There are a few trees and rolling hills. There is approximately 1.5 miles of mowed trails that loop and connect, creating several options for new routes for each visit. There is also an outhouse available if needed. However, it is within our normally private area, so dogs must be on leashes and there are hooks for leashes while in use.

Opportunity Woods Private Dog Park In Ridgeland

Opportunity Woods offers 5+ acres of hilly woods and long grass meadow surrounded by a secure 6 foot fence. Several benches are placed along the rustic trails, but of course, there is no need to stay on a trail! A water bowl can be found and filled from the human-potable water hydrant, where you will also find a wading pool for dog and human use in summer. There is a roofed picnic/shade shelter just up the hill from the hydrant. Take in the serene view of the surrounding area, and get a birdseye view of Opportunity Farm, where sheep graze the nearby paddocks. Wire-wheel tables and chairs are available for relaxing, hanging out with your dog, having a picnic, a birthday party with your dog's pals or watching a dramatic rising or setting of a full moon. Hello to all you fur baby fans out there! As a dog dad, I know the amount of energy we need to get out of them for them to remain healthy and happy. My 15yo lab was let off the leash permanently in February and I'm not ready to commit full time again...yet. Having had dogs all my life and having a 9yo son that that says he'll do all the work, I'm sure it will happen soonish but for now this option works great for both of us! My Spot is a spacious fully fenced backyard with great shade at any time of the day. The entrance is on the west side of the house. There is occasionally a dog in the yard to the west but there is an 8 ft fence on that side. The chainlink section in the back will have people in their yard rarely but no pets. I will take care of any cleanup and disposal for you for an additional $2/dog. Come, play, leave. Easy peasy! Feel free to eat some raspberries while you're here, if they are in season. Welcome to our private dog beach on the Buffalo River - the ultimate summer SniffSpot! The river is slow moving, clear, shallow and all sand. It is about 1-2 feet deep near our beach, and deeper on the opposite side of the river. In heavy rain, it ebbs and flows in depths. It is a very safe place to wade, play fetch, dig in the sand, teach dogs about water or just hang out on a warm day. You will park and walk to the beach on mowed trails through our woods about 600 feet to the beach. It is completely secluded on a beautiful bend in the river where you will be surrounded by woods. Watch for eagles, hawks, Sandhills cranes, ducks and many songbirds overhead. The SniffSpot availability is limited to the beach only, and not the rest of our property.

My backyard offers 2 acres of fully fenced forested area with over 50 trees within that area! We keep a trail mowed that loops down into the bottom of the yard so you have a comfortable walking trail and your 4 legged friends can use it as a racetrack! Tons of smells to sniff and ample room for zoomies! There are some stickers/burrs in areas of the yard. For winter months, the slope in the yard can get icy so please wear good shoes and be mindful. My chickens have free rein to the property when there are no visitors so there will always be chicken poop on the ground in some areas more so than others. Chickens will always be secured in their predator proof coop and run. There are toys, a garbage can, a dog bowl, and extra poop bags on the patio just before the wooden stairs. Please feel free to park in the driveway on the right side of the garage!
