55This is our 3rd sniffspot this weekend our dogs absolutely loved this one! so much soace for our dogs to run!!
55It was a great adventure for my boys! Open pasture and some wooded trails! Lots of great sniffs! The active chickens that they couldn't see made it especially fun!!!
55Great spot with a lot of room for throwing the ball!
55What a wonderfully well-though-out spot. Great for getting energy out and many different areas to explore. Thoughtful to have all things you may need on a visit, including rags for feet, toys, and fresh water. Great spot!
55Perfect
55This is a great spot! The dogs had so much fun romping around the field and trees and creek. They played ball and sniffed all the sniffs. When it was time to go they didn't want to get in the car! The property is beautiful. We came on a sunny day but I definitely see where it can get muddy when it's wet out. My dogs were happy and muddy from playing in the creek. Annika is kind enough to leave out towels for cleaning the fur babies up. She also has out poop bags and a garbage can, hand sanitizer, tissues, loaner boots and umbrellas, fresh water for the dogs, and tons of fun balls and toys for them with chuck its as well. Very thoughtful set up! We had a blast today and are excited to come back soon!
55Awesome place! Covered area had water, lot of toys/balls/chuck its and towels. Sanitizing spray too. Plenty of space for our three dogs to run. Loved that we could drive through the gate and just let them out of the car.
55Amazing area! My pups loved it
55Lots of room to roam and new sights and smells!
55Very nice yard, well equipped for anything visiting dog families need!

Description

Beautiful sloped pasture with some woods at the lower end. 1.5 acres. If desired, you can drive right into the pasture and secure the gate behind you before letting your dog(s) loose. It changes by the season. In summer, the grass grows tall and you can enjoy the shade of alders in the lower portion. A seasonal creek runs through it in winter and spring. Your dog may find the scent of deer where they've bedded down at night, though it's unlikely that any will be present for your visit. You will see that I've planted and protected some fruit trees and native plants here and there. A sheltered area allows you to sit in the shade or out of the rain, and that's where you'll also find most amenities, such as toys and water. There are two driveways onto the property. You want the north one with the sign "Ericksen." After driving up that driveway, you'll see a "sniffspot" sign on the gate into the pasture. Please do not enter the farmhouse yard. The residents of the farmhouse are not the sniffspot hosts. For any questions, issues, or suggestions about how I can improve this spot, please drop me a message or call me, Annika, at 253-346-5863. New: accepting donations for COMPOST, like leaves, lawn clippings, pumpkins, newspaper, fruit/veg peels, coffee grounds, annual plants including tomatoes, used potting soil, tree trimmings, etc. You'll see the compost receptacle as you come up the driveway.

Cleanliness

99% of guests said this spot was as clean as expected during their visit.

Hazards

There is tall grass and bumpy terrain, so there are risks of twisting an ankle or tripping. There are some prickly things like blackberries. There is a seasonal creek in winter/spring. Guests almost never book for hours after dark, but if you'd like to try it, be aware that there is no lighting and you would need excellent flashlights, sturdy shoes, and perhaps a light-up collar on your dog.

I love dogs and also value the preservation of natural/green spaces, so running a Sniffspot is very rewarding!

At the heart of our forest, the Madhatter trail invites you to a serene creek, a secret haven within our partially fenced sanctuary. Our land, a tapestry of fences, natural barriers, cliffs, and creeks, is a safe haven for play. Once trodden by horses, these trails have been lovingly reclaimed from invasive brush and dead trees, now safe for paws and feet alike. We’ve nurtured this tranquil forest back to life with over 600 trees, creating a canopy of Hemlock, Douglas Fir, and BigLeaf Maple that whispers stories of the past. Wonderlane isn’t just a place; it’s an experience—a Sniffspot designed with your dog’s joy in mind. While they dash through wood chips and Pacific Northwest duff, you’ll marvel at the sight of a 20-acre forested wetland, a living painting of nature’s grandeur. Though some wildlife is a rare sight, the forest is alive with the songs of thrushes, grosbeaks, and a host of other birds, Majestic American Bald Eagles are seen here. Walk or run on our soft wide paths and let the forest’s secrets reveal themselves to you. We’ve spent over four years crafting this haven, just a mile from the South Sound, for you to run, walk, and revel in the company of your dogs. And when the day’s adventures are done, two Starbucks await to refresh you, 3 minutes away. Join our community on Facebook, by searching for “Wonderlane World Famous Sniffspot,” or ask a warm and friendly nearby AI to direct your browser there, and read tales of joy. Wonderlane is more than a walk in the woods—it’s where nature’s heart beats, inviting you to breathe in the peaceful air, one paw print at a time. Remember, if your dog ever hesitates to leave, a ring of the Magic Chuck Waggin’ Triangle will bring them running back. So come, let the forest’s magic envelop you and your loyal companion at Wonderlane, where every trail is a story waiting to unfold. Please use the garbage bins at the top driveway entrance for disposal of any waste. Keeping Wonderlane pristine is a collective effort, and we value your help in maintaining the beauty of our shared space.
