There is a small gap (~6 inches) between the ground and the fence in a few spots. This isn’t an issue for the majority of pups, but FYI if your dog is small and likes to escape.

Quiet street in pleasant neighborhood just off 694 and Silver Lake Road. Fully fenced and easy access from the street. Relax near the "dog" pool while your dog explores the yard for new and interesting smells. Mostly open yard with a path through a woodsy pollinator area in back. Kiddie pool and hose available in summer, plus a tiny inground pond for cooling off. What the yard lacks in a aesthetics it makes up for in smells. Rabbits live in the brush pile beyond the tall grass. Lots of bones everywhere 🦴🦴, free for the taking. Some well loved toys and balls available. Garden with cherry tomatoes to pick when available.

The "Maplewood Farm" Dog Park (5-acres!)

Welcome to “Maplewood Farm” Dog Park -- a peaceful 5-acre nature escape in south Maplewood near Battle Creek, just minutes from I-94 and McKnight. This is still undeveloped farmland tucked into the suburbs, with rolling hills, mature trees, wooded trails, open field space, and natural wildlife. It has a different feel from a typical backyard spot and gives dogs a private place to run, sniff, explore, and decompress away from crowded dog parks. For history buffs, the property also has the only standing barn in Maplewood, built in 1896, still in its original form and in use. The main fenced play area is approx. 60 ft x 100 ft and is great for off-leash play, fetch, tug with the spring pole, and burning off energy. There is also a water-play area with a splash pad and above-head sprinkler/mister, plus a sprayer if you want to rinse or bathe your pup on the grass. Just outside the fenced area, I’ve added a cozy campfire seating area overlooking the dog park. Evening guests who book 1.5+ hours are welcome to use it at no extra cost when conditions allow -- a peaceful way to relax while your pup plays nearby. For a good visit, I recommend starting in the fenced area, then leashing your pup for a slower sniff walk around the rest of the property (imagine an entire city block). From the fenced area, you can follow the back gate into the wooded trail system, head toward the back cul-de-sac area, loop back toward the campfire area and barn, then continue through the mature forest trail. I’ve also installed several runner trolley systems along the trail for semi-free roaming, giving dogs a safe, guided way to sniff and explore under the trees. From there, you can circle back toward the open field. Signs are posted to help guide you. This is a natural, dog-friendly space, so dogs are welcome to explore, climb on log and wood chip piles, chew or pull on sticks, sniff around, and enjoy the property in whatever way feels safe and appropriate to you. I’m not precious about the landscape here. My priority is your pup having a good, safe visit. Best times to visit: mornings and early evenings are usually great for active dogs, especially during warmer weather. Afternoons can still be enjoyable with shade, water play, and wooded trails for slower sniff walks. Early evenings are one of my favorite times here -- you can enjoy the sunset, relax by the campfire, or unwind while your dog plays and explores. If I’m home, I may briefly welcome first-time visitors once your dog is safely in the fenced area. If you prefer a no-contact visit, just message me ahead of time and I won’t greet you. As a dog lover and builder, I’m always improving the space and adding more dog-friendly features. Added FYIs: - Place bagged poop in the small garbage bin. 🗑️💩 - 8/13/25: FYI backyard neighbor is doing some updates on the home, it's possible that workers will be visible to you and your pups as they walk to/from their vehicle and a dumpster! 👷🏻 - Please do not allow pups to dig or to enter the small separately fenced garden. 🌱🪏 - If you remember, it helps to throw "fetch" in lots of different directions to spread out the "wear and tear." IF something goes over the fence, do please just let us know (we will contact the neighbor)--**do not** physically step over the fence (it causes fence damage) 🏡 🤳🏻 - "Same day" bookings will probably have the bedtime and morning 💩 from my pups since I routinely only pick up after work during warm months. If you book 24+ hours in advance I can squeeze in an extra poo pickup before work. - *WINTER I pick up weekly, weather-permitting, so might NOT be a great spot for pups who eat poopsicles--you know who you are! 💩 ❄️ 🐶 🍨🍦
