Welcome to our 2-acre Sniffspot, a dog paradise designed for every kind of adventure! Our yard offers both fenced and unfenced areas, giving your dog the freedom to explore in the way that suits them best. For added flexibility, we have two fenced sections—one large and one small—so dogs of all sizes and temperaments can enjoy their space comfortably. The big fence provides plenty of room for high-energy play, while the smaller fenced area is ideal for more relaxed or shy dogs. We also feature an unfenced section for dogs that enjoy a wider, open space experience. Whether your pup loves to run, sniff, or simply relax, our yard is the perfect getaway for them!

The Old Goats Farm

Several fenced in spaces, depending on needs of your pet. We have some farm animals thate are safely fenced in seperate areas, but able to meet through the fence! They include: Goats, Donkey, Pig, Geese, Ducks, Chickens, Cats, and occasionally a chicken or three!

Slys Peace Trail

Located in the foothills, the Slys Peace trail was created for dog stimulation. The trail starts at the lower end of the pasture and follows the creek meandering through a rhododendron forest. Situated at the base of 100 acres of wooded ridge land, the hike offers a wilderness experience customized to your comfort zone. There are multiple trails to accommodate your level of exercise. The full experience will require crossing the creek multiple times and is recommended for those with hiking experience. Trails are easy to follow with multiple exits that lead out to the pasture. This is dog heaven. Let your dog be a dog. To locate the gate entrance watch for the Giant metal horse. His nose points the way. Follow the fenceline a few hundred feet where you will find the gate just before the power line easement. There is now a large Sniff Spot sign securely attached.

Open Yard and Pup Run in Boone, NC

Our dogs want to share their yard with yours! This is a long fenced yard great for running, playing, frisbee, or just sitting in the sun. Used by our dogs, but they will be put away or at daycare when yours are here. Homeowner will be present when yard is in use, but the yard space will be all yours.

A rare gem in today’s society and one that has to be experienced to truly appreciate the awe and wonder Mother Nature has to share. A breathtaking and revitalizing take on the mountains. Stone Mountain State Park and New River State Park are minutes away. The Cedar Ridge and Flat Rock Ridge Trailheads are 5 minutes from the site which lead to the Basin Creek Trail, part of Doughton Recreation Area. There are several wineries in the area, including Roaring River Vineyards within 15 minutes. This area is also home to the Blue Ridge Parkway, a short 20 minute drive. Wilkesboro, Sparta, and Elkin are within 30-40 minutes and offer lots of excellent restaurants, breweries, and fun things to explore. Several local golf courses are close by. Boone and Blowing Rock are about an hour from this location. Cell service is non-existent at the site but available at the main entrance. Wi-Fi is available for an additional charge; hi-speed and reliable for streaming and/or working remote.

A large enclosed area on an organic vegetable farm. I built this fire my dogs but am happy to share. Your dog can have the run of the place or I can add one or two of my friendly hounds to play with. Stay for a few minutes or a few days.

Silent H Acres is almost an acre fenced spot for your dog to go sniffing, running, fetching, and discovering. There are toys to play with (frisbees, tug rope, tennis balls, etc) and sticks to fetch. The grass ranges from 2” mowed, to 4” natural, up to about 12+ inches. A smattering of trees and two sitting areas for you - the gray Adirondack chairs are a bit too heavy to move, but feel free to move the red ones anywhere you would like. ***We will be adding a couple of agility exercise areas for your dog in the next few days. Toward the front of the field, I have mowed a curvy type of track in case you want to work on guided leash training. For you, we will keep a track around the perimeter of the fence mowed so you can use it for a walking track. PLEASE NOTE, the electric fence is DISCONNECTED. Captain's Retreat at Bear Creek located off Highway 64 in Mocksville! 4.5 acres of fully fenced (woven mesh wire and post/rail 5.5ft to 6ft high) with trails, woods, field, and plenty of room to run and explore! Open the front gate and drive into the secure parking area. ***CLOSE AND LATCH THE GATE BEHIND YOU BEFORE GETTING YOUR DOGS OUT OF THE CAR!*** Walk through gate into the space from the secure parking area. This area has wooded trails as well as cleared areas. Densely wooded areas and thickets all around. TICK PREVENTION IS A MUST! There are no pesticides or herbicides used here. Only natural horticulture vingear for spot weed control. This area is located beside Bear Creek and when the creek is high or after a good rain IT WILL BE MUDDY on the right side of the property! Dry creekbed located across the back of the property. **The Creek is NOT accessible from the fenced property** -Water hose on site for use. Dog shower/bath area to the right of the shed with dog wash hose attached, shampoo, and wash shammy. Or you may bring your own bath supplies! Feel free to give your dog a shower/bath! ***Just added dog pool*** For use at no extra charge! Fill up/use if you'd like! (It's been stored for the fall/winter...but if you would like to use it...please let me know at time of booking) -Dog water bowl, dog brush, toys, treats, human and dog tick spray provided. All located in large deck box inside the gate. -Bring doggy towels in case of mud or bathing! -Porch swing and seating areas with a shed deck, gas grill, picnic table and hammock at the top of the property. -Chair/table area at the bottom of rock trail. At the end of the cleared field is a 2 single seat swing set and hammocks by the bridge. **Stick Library** -**NEW** we have expanded the field area to fence in the hill!
