Another 12 acres of walking over a bridge of the Lil Campbell River into an incredibly lush forest. The forest is not all fenced and is open. Once over the bridge, it is the dog owner’s discretion of whether your dog is off leash or not. If your dog has a prey drive it’s advised to keep on a long leash for safety. It is a private forest so it is rare to see other dogs and people, but wildlife is always a possibility. Please keep your dog on a short leash from the parking area to the dog park area and also from the dog park to bridge for a walk through the trails in the forest. There’s plenty of room to sniff, roam, and play, whether your pup loves open space or shaded paths. Because the space is unfenced, it’s best for dogs with reliable recall or those kept on a long leash. Please clean up after your dog and help keep the meadow and woods beautiful for everyone. As this is raw land, you may prefer to wear closed-toe shoes, especially as we enter the rainy season. If you are booking an early evening spot, you may want to bring a headlamp or a flashlight as it is pretty dark once the sun goes down.

Wind Ridge Farm Field

****IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD so it is around 15 canadian*** Enclosed farm field. Space includes a small wooded area within the fenced area. Bathroom available on site is now located in an outhouse close to where you park your car. Please let us know if it needs cleaning it is checked throughout the day. SMOKE FREE ZONE. Pick up after dogs, garbage bin provided. There is a barn hose if you need water text or call glenn 2508962860. There are a few seniors visiting with mobility issues which is taken into consideration when there is poop left behind. You can always message me and let me know a general area and I can try to run out and pick it up between the next visit. There are some small gaps in the fence, so this is a great spot for large and medium sized dogs. Not a spot recommended for small dogs. Please keep dogs leashed until you are in the designated enclosed area. There is a 30 minute gap between bookings so you dont run into a dog leaving the field. WEATHER ALERT: If you are checking the weather online check the Ferndale (98248) weather. The Bellingham weather stops at the Smith Road. My prevailing wind is from the South BUT I do get the cold NE wind from Canada. NOTE: This is an acreage area which formerly held dog events; barn hunt, earth dog, carting, rally, obedience, tracking and nose work. The off leash area was set up for the dogs to have a place to run and play safely away from the other dogs when not working. This is all sandy loam so no standing water even when it rains. There is a water faucet down by the smaller barn (west side). You are welcome to fill your dog's bowls. Just be sure you turn the water off after. I have put some folding chairs just inside the big door of the barn. You are welcome to use them. I have also put a shovel out there so you can fill in any holes your dog digs. It is important you put balls back in the crate, they do not do well under the mower (the mower doesn't like it either. Please fill in any large holes your dog digs, so my mower doesn't bog down in one. if you want a bit more room to run your dogs, you may close the 2 big gates and let your dog run in the "parking area". It is all fully fenced. Be aware, the big gate into the back pasture does have a gap under it. THE BACK PASTURE IS OFF LIMITS THERE IS LIVESTOCK BACK THERE! PLEASE PICK UP AFTER YOUR DOG EVEN IN THE BIG AREA. THANK YOU!!!
