55Love this field! It’s easily accessible from the road, yet tucked in, offering super private and safe entrance. Well shaded for the hot summer days with lovely picnic bench and other seating areas for two legged visitors. Chicken coop is right at the edge of the area, giving my somewhat-reactive pups exposure to other animals. They all behaved well and it was sweet to see them politely watching the chickens. My pups and their friend all had a great time!
This spot is charming, rustic and full of extra touches offered by a great host. Mara is a pleasure to deal with and we have added this spot to the top of our list!Tamara T.

55Lovely secluded spot with shady trees complimented by an inquisitive squirrel… the field is fully fenced and securely gated, there were a number of spots to sit while your dog explores. The chicken coop is just inside the gate so we did keep our reactive dog on leash until we moved past it further down the field… she definitely was interested but did some amazing recalls when she got too close. (Not bad for her first chicken encounter). Great place to do some training and nosework. There is enough space for our Mini Aussie Shepherd run and things for her to jump up on. Love that the parking spot is right at the gate to the field and it is very clearly signed. Loved the welcome sign! Definitely plan on revisiting. Sally S.

55What a cozy little sanctuary for a reactive dog to hang out and play! Plenty of shaded areas, sticks galore and some seating for the humans too. Highly recommend, the host was great with touching base before hand so that there were no concerns with my reactive dog running into theirs. We will be back!!!Shannon K.

FAQ about our North Saanich dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 97% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the North Saanich area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 49 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 8 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
