Fun in Freeville - 5.5 Acre Trail

Unfenced
5.5 acres

Welcome to Fun in Freeville: Trail Edition! A short trail for your dog that likes to explore the woods. There is a fire pit about 100 yards in with seating and some natural doggy obstacles for those interested in agility and parkour exercises. We currently have one open trail that runs the length of our 5.5 acre property and back, and we hope to add more this spring. Our favorite times to walk this trail are in the fall and winter. It can get pretty wet during certain times of the year. I would definitely wear tall waterproof footwear in the spring and summer and use bug spray. There's a large fire pit with benches and a picnic table that you're welcome to use. We are doing our best to maintain and further develop the trail but please be aware that there is uneven ground throughout and watch your step. As you walk through, you will encounter different types of forest and trees. It's always fun to bring binoculars if you're into birding. You might get lucky and see our resident barred owls! Our property also includes a fully fenced yard you are welcome to use as well. See our other spot for more details and information: https://www.sniffspot.com/to/3yhyy

Finger Lakes Dog Park

Fully Fenced
0.5 acres

Finger Lakes Dog Park is a privately reservable, fully-fenced, half acre canine recreation area. We enthusiastically welcome ALL dogs, but the private nature of the park is especially beneficial for reactive or shy dogs, traveling dogs, handicapped dogs, puppies, or seniors. We are the first and only dog park in Schuyler County, located in the heart of the Finger Lakes Region. The area is known for its rolling farmland, many vineyards, beautiful lakes, and plentiful waterfalls and gorges. Numerous state parks offer many camping opportunities. And the county is also home to the only national forest in the state. So whether you are a local resident-or a visitor to our little piece of heaven-be sure to bring your special friend(s) for an enjoyable outing in the country. We are open every day (including all holidays) from 8am to 8pm. The park is not lighted (yet) so reserve your spot accordingly during the winter. Happy romping!

Frequently asked questions about Hammondsport dog agility parks

Why are private dog agility parks better than public dog parks in Hammondsport?

Private dog agility parks in Hammondsport eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Hammondsport's 8 private dog agility parks offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.

How safe are Hammondsport dog agility parks compared to public dog parks?

Hammondsport dog agility parks are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Hammondsport dog agility parks eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.

Are Hammondsport dog agility parks safe for reactive dogs?

Hammondsport owners of reactive dogs choose dog agility parks because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy agility training and mental stimulation while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Hammondsport reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.

Can anxious dogs safely use Hammondsport dog agility parks?

Yes! Hammondsport dog agility parks provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a space equipped with obstacles like tunnels, jumps, and weave poles for agility training at their own pace without stress. Many Hammondsport dog agility parks offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.

Are Hammondsport dog agility parks good for small dogs?

Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Hammondsport dog agility parks because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Hammondsport avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog agility parks eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.

Do Hammondsport dog agility parks work for senior dogs?

Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Hammondsport dog agility parks because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Hammondsport dog agility parks with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.

What do Hammondsport dog owners say about dog agility parks?

Reviews of Hammondsport dog agility parks consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs. Local favorite Finger Lakes Dog Park is particularly praised in Hammondsport. Read reviews to see real experiences from Hammondsport dog owners with similar needs.

How clean and maintained are Hammondsport dog agility parks?
