Atlas Ad Astra Dog Park & Paths

Partially Fenced
5 acres

Matthew and Leigh Ann own Atlas Ad Astra Adventure Resort, a campground and RV park on the site of a decommissioned Atlas F Missile Silo. Our 24-acre property is rural, but only a couple of miles off I-70 in the heart of Kansas. Along with tent camping and RV Parking, we also give Historical Silo Tours daily at 8:30am and 5:30pm (must be booked in advance). We are located in the midst of a windfarm, with large turbines in the not too far distance, but not directly our property. We do live on-site with our 2 dogs: Buddy, a tri-color Border Collie/Aussie; and Bing, a German Short-haired Pointer. They are both friendly seniors that get along well with other friendly dogs. The dog park area is situated on a section of the land, which is a large field of more than 5 acres. Although our land is not fenced everywhere, it is bounded by cropland and/or pasture on all sides. Dogs with good recall can easily hike with you on the mowed perimeter paths or enjoy bounding around in the tall grasses. There is about mile of mowed pathways around the perimeter of the entire property. The views are beautiful, especially at sunset! Our neighbors have cattle, which can be close to a portion of the perimeter trail. There are a few areas on the grounds that are under construction, but it is easy to avoid these areas with your dogs. Dogs are able to be off leash, anywhere on our site as long as they have good recall, are well mannered, and are friendly toward other dogs and people in general. Our park is not a good fit for sensitive, reactive or aggressive dogs. Please note that we cannot ensure you will be the only ones on the entire property at any given time, as our campers may also have dogs and kids on the property. However, we do have a designated parking area for Sniffspot close to the trail and you will have at least part of the dog zone to yourself during your allotted time. If you are in the common campground and RV areas, we ask you to leash your dog if it is not well behaved/trained. Please be courteous and conscious of your pet(s) and their interactions at all times. You are also welcome to bring a picnic lunch or to take the Property Guided Tour while you are here. Although we do love them, we do not allow dogs on the Historical Silo Tour, so they will need to be in a vehicle, crated, or accompanied someone else during the tour.

Unincorporated has 2 private small dog parks available through Sniffspot, offering appropriately-sized exercise in completely private settings. These locations range from compact spaces to properties spanning 5+ acres. Whether you need a space for your reactive dog, puppy socialization, senior dog gentle exercise, or high-energy play, Unincorporated small dog parks provide safe, private environments. Filter for "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, or fencing types to find your perfect match.

How many small dog parks are in Unincorporated?

Unincorporated offers 2 small dog parks ranging from compact spaces to properties spanning acres. You'll find diverse options: fully-fenced for escape artists, indoor climate-controlled for year-round use, swimming pools for hot days, agility courses for training, and more. Each Unincorporated small dog park listing shows detailed photos, amenities, fencing specs, and reviews from local dog owners.

Are Unincorporated small dog parks good for all dog types?

Yes! Unincorporated small dog parks work for every dog: puppies learning socialization, senior dogs needing gentle exercise, small dogs who feel safer without large breeds, high-energy dogs requiring space, and reactive or anxious dogs needing privacy. The completely private bookings mean each dog gets the environment they need. Browse Unincorporated's 2 options to find spaces matching your dog's specific temperament and needs.

Will I encounter other dogs at Unincorporated small dog parks?

Not a chance. Unincorporated small dog parks operate on a strict one-booking-at-a-time system, so the space is entirely yours during your reserved slot. Host dogs are kept away, and there's a mandatory 30-minute buffer between bookings—meaning you won't cross paths with the previous or next guest. For Unincorporated owners with reactive dogs, puppies, or any dog needing privacy, this makes all the difference in providing safe, stress-free exercise.

Are Unincorporated small dog parks safe for fearful or anxious dogs?

Yes! Unincorporated small dog parks provide controlled, predictable environments without the chaos of public dog parks. Since bookings are completely private with 30-minute buffers, anxious dogs can explore a space specifically sized and designed for small breeds under 25-30 pounds without overwhelming encounters. Many Unincorporated dog owners specifically choose small dog parks for fearful dogs who need gentle, stress-free exercise environments.

Can puppies use Unincorporated small dog parks?

Absolutely! Unincorporated small dog parks are excellent for puppy socialization because they're private and controlled. Puppies can explore a space specifically sized and designed for small breeds under 25-30 pounds, practice recall, and build confidence without the overwhelming chaos that can create fear or reactivity in young dogs. Just ensure your puppy has age-appropriate vaccinations before visiting.

How do I choose the best small dog park in Unincorporated?

Start by filtering Unincorporated's 2 small dog parks for your specific needs: secure fencing for escape artists, "fewer dogs seen/heard" for reactive dogs, flat terrain for seniors, appropriate sizing for small dogs, or specific amenities for training. Look for "Top Spots" like Unincorporated's Atlas Ad Astra Dog Park & Paths with excellent reviews.Read feedback from other Unincorporated owners with similar dog types to find your perfect match.

What are Unincorporated's small dog park requirements?

All dogs must have basic vaccinations or titers. Each Unincorporated host may have additional rules on their listing. Most small dog parks welcome all breeds, sizes, and temperament levels, including reactive dogs who can't safely visit public dog parks. Adult supervision is required at all times.
