Forest Shore 10-Acre Private Dog Park in Jordan Ferry

Unfenced
10 acres

We welcome you to Nova Scotia's South Shore & Forest! We are situated on 15 acres with 800 feet of oceanfront on Jordan Bay. There are approximately 10 acres you may explore to your hearts' content! IMPORTANT: all prices listed are in USD and guests will be charged in USD Some of our forest is untouched, some has trails, and there is to access a mostly rocky shoreline. On low tide, our shore surprises us with some sand, as well. With more trees than you can shake a stick at, we also have running streams throughout the property headed to our shore, depending on the season. A couple run out to the shoreline as waterfalls. We are constantly working on clearing more trails for your ongoing enjoyment.

Frequently asked questions about Carleton dog hiking trails

Where can I find dog hiking trails in Carleton?

Carleton has 3 private dog hiking trails available through Sniffspot, offering natural exploration and varied terrain in completely private settings. These locations range from compact spaces to properties spanning 50+ acres. Whether you need a space for your reactive dog, puppy socialization, senior dog gentle exercise, or high-energy play, Carleton dog hiking trails provide safe, private environments. Filter for "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, or fencing types to find your perfect match.

How many dog hiking trails are in Carleton?

Carleton offers 3 dog hiking trails ranging from compact spaces to properties spanning acres. You'll find diverse options: fully-fenced for escape artists, indoor climate-controlled for year-round use, swimming pools for hot days, agility courses for training, and more. Each Carleton dog hiking trail listing shows detailed photos, amenities, fencing specs, and reviews from local dog owners.

Are Carleton dog hiking trails good for all dog types?

Yes! Carleton dog hiking trails work for every dog: puppies learning socialization, senior dogs needing gentle exercise, small dogs who feel safer without large breeds, high-energy dogs requiring space, and reactive or anxious dogs needing privacy. The completely private bookings mean each dog gets the environment they need. Browse Carleton's 3 options to find spaces matching your dog's specific temperament and needs.

Will I encounter other dogs at Carleton dog hiking trails?

Not a chance. Carleton dog hiking trails operate on a strict one-booking-at-a-time system, so the space is entirely yours during your reserved slot. Host dogs are kept away, and there's a mandatory 30-minute buffer between bookings—meaning you won't cross paths with the previous or next guest. For Carleton owners with reactive dogs, puppies, or any dog needing privacy, this makes all the difference in providing safe, stress-free exercise.

Are Carleton dog hiking trails safe for fearful or anxious dogs?

Yes! Carleton dog hiking trails provide controlled, predictable environments without the chaos of public dog parks. Since bookings are completely private with 30-minute buffers, anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment without overwhelming encounters. Many Carleton dog owners specifically choose dog hiking trails for fearful dogs who need gentle, stress-free exercise environments.

Can puppies use Carleton dog hiking trails?

Absolutely! Carleton dog hiking trails are excellent for puppy socialization because they're private and controlled. Puppies can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment, practice recall, and build confidence without the overwhelming chaos that can create fear or reactivity in young dogs. Just ensure your puppy has age-appropriate vaccinations before visiting.

How do I choose the best dog hiking trail in Carleton?

Start by filtering Carleton's 3 dog hiking trails for your specific needs: secure fencing for escape artists, "fewer dogs seen/heard" for reactive dogs, flat terrain for seniors, appropriate sizing for small dogs, or specific amenities for training. Look for "Top Spots" like Carleton's Priya's 50 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Yarmouth with excellent reviews.Read feedback from other Carleton owners with similar dog types to find your perfect match.

What are Carleton's dog hiking trail requirements?

All dogs must have basic vaccinations or titers. Each Carleton host may have additional rules on their listing. Most dog hiking trails welcome all breeds, sizes, and temperament levels, including reactive dogs who can't safely visit public dog parks. Adult supervision is required at all times.
