Maplewood Private Farm Dog Park (5-acres)

Fully Fenced
5 acres

Welcome to our Private Farm Dog Park -- a peaceful 5-acre nature escape in south Maplewood near Battle Creek, just minutes from I-94 and McKnight. The property sits among rolling hills, mature trees, wooded trails, open field space, and natural wildlife scents, giving dogs a private place to run, sniff, explore, and decompress away from crowded dog parks. To my knowledge, the property also has the only standing barn in Maplewood, built in 1896, that remains in its original form and is still in use today. The fenced play area is approx. 60 ft x 100 ft and is great for off-leash play, fetch, tug with the spring pole, and burning off energy. For a good visit, I recommend spending the first half of your time in the fenced area, then leashing your pup(s) for a slower sniff walk around the rest of the property. Recommended tour: From the fenced area, use the small back gate and veer slightly right into the woods toward the back cul-de-sac area for a private walk among the trees. Then loop back toward the campsite, turn toward the barn and walk around it, then take the trail north through the more wooded section, which is usually the best area for sniffing and exploring. There is also a large open field on the other side of the driveway -- my favorite spot -- where young aspen trees whisper on windy days. Around 8pm, you can often enjoy a beautiful sunset from this part of the property, with a hammock nearby where you can swing, relax, and take in the quiet. It is peaceful for dogs, but also relaxing for humans who want fresh air, solitude, and time in nature. Best times to visit: During summer, afternoons can get hot, but they are nice for slower sniff walks in the shaded, forested areas. Mornings and evenings are best for active dogs who need more exercise. Some guests also come after sundown for highly reactive dogs who need extra stillness -- and LED collars make them fun to watch across the yard. As a dog lover and builder, I’m always improving the space with more enrichment features and amenities. This spot is especially great for dogs who need space and privacy, working breeds with energy to burn, training or confidence-building, or owners who simply want a quiet place where their dog can be a dog. Future upgrades include agility-style features, shade, a comfy campfire area, and a cleaner water-play area with sprinklers and a kiddie pool. I recently opened this Sniffspot in May 2026 and welcome feedback! 🐾 🐾 Valeng and friends 🐾 🐾

How clean are private indoor dog parks in Champlin compared to public parks?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Champlin see dozens of dogs daily with sporadic city maintenance. Private indoor dog parks have dedicated hosts who maintain their own spaces—cleanliness directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Champlin hosts provide fresh poop bags, sanitized water stations, and regular grounds cleaning. With only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal.

Can I book Champlin indoor dog parks on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Champlin indoor dog parks offer same-day or next-day availability with instant booking. Unlike public parks that might be crowded unpredictably, Champlin private indoor dog parks let you reserve exactly when needed: early morning before work, midday breaks, evening exercise. Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.

What's the best time to visit indoor dog parks in Champlin?

Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in Champlin that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many Champlin indoor dog parks have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.

Do Champlin indoor dog parks allow multiple dogs?

Yes! Most Champlin indoor dog parks welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in Champlin where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.

Can I use Champlin indoor dog parks for special events?

Many Champlin indoor dog parks welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with Champlin hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual Champlin indoor dog park listings for event policies.

How do Champlin indoor dog parks accommodate dogs with special needs?

Champlin indoor dog parks are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other Champlin special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
