The Vista 518

Unfenced
28 acres

Welcome to The Vista, a 30-acre outdoor space, with 15 acres for dogs and owners to enjoy. The area includes three main sections: an open field, a pond, and hiking trails. While there are no visible animals or pets on the higher levels, neighbor dogs may occasionally be visible at a distance from the lower areas. Wildlife is active and may cross your path—please avoid interaction when possible. This is an unfenced, off-leash location, and we cannot be held liable for dogs who are escape artists! Our pond spans 20 feet across and over 20 feet deep, with an almost immediate drop-off when stepping in. The pond is spring-fed and stocked, so feel free to swim, fish, or float during your visit (anytime between June and November). There is no electricity or formal structure, but you are welcome to set up a tent or umbrella for shade. This is a carry in–carry out site, so please leave no trace behind, including your trash. For twice the fun with your furry friend, consider upgrading to camp overnight! A porta potty is onsite, but there is no water or electricity available. Please note that security video surveillance is in place for safety.

Frequently asked questions about Cherry Valley dog hiking trails

Why are private dog hiking trails better than public dog parks in Cherry Valley?

Private dog hiking trails in Cherry Valley eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Cherry Valley's 11 private dog hiking trails offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.

How safe are Cherry Valley dog hiking trails compared to public dog parks?

Cherry Valley dog hiking trails are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Cherry Valley dog hiking trails eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.

Are Cherry Valley dog hiking trails safe for reactive dogs?

Cherry Valley owners of reactive dogs choose dog hiking trails because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy natural exploration and varied terrain while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Cherry Valley reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.

Can anxious dogs safely use Cherry Valley dog hiking trails?

Yes! Cherry Valley dog hiking trails provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment at their own pace without stress. Many Cherry Valley dog hiking trails offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.

Are Cherry Valley dog hiking trails good for small dogs?

Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Cherry Valley dog hiking trails because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Cherry Valley avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog hiking trails eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.

Do Cherry Valley dog hiking trails work for senior dogs?

Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Cherry Valley dog hiking trails because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Cherry Valley dog hiking trails with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.

What do Cherry Valley dog owners say about dog hiking trails?

Reviews of Cherry Valley dog hiking trails consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs. Local favorite 55 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Retreat In Selkirk is particularly praised in Cherry Valley. Read reviews to see real experiences from Cherry Valley dog owners with similar needs.

How clean and maintained are Cherry Valley dog hiking trails?
