Small working farm on Johns Island

Unfenced
20 acres

I have had my spot mostly closed for a little while due to family issues. I have started to open the calendar up more and more, however. If you don't see any time open on the day you would like, message me, and I may be able to accommodate you and open your desired time slot. The property is a small working farm on Johns Island with goats, chickens, geese and ducks. There are 20+ acres of undeveloped land. Approximately half of it is fields that aren't currently planted. Some of the fields are cut low and some are high grass with lanes cut through them. The other half of the property is woods. There are also several ponds. The property is perfect for training dogs to track or retrieve or just to let them explore.

How clean are private dog hiking trails in Edisto Island compared to public parks?

Significantly cleaner. Public dog parks in Edisto Island see dozens of dogs daily with sporadic city maintenance. Private dog hiking trails have dedicated hosts who maintain their own spaces—cleanliness directly affects their reviews and bookings. Many Edisto Island hosts provide fresh poop bags, sanitized water stations, and regular grounds cleaning. With only one booking at a time, waste accumulation is minimal.

Can I book Edisto Island dog hiking trails on short notice?

Usually yes! Many Edisto Island dog hiking trails offer same-day or next-day availability with instant booking. Unlike public parks that might be crowded unpredictably, Edisto Island private dog hiking trails let you reserve exactly when needed: early morning before work, midday breaks, evening exercise. Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.

What's the best time to visit dog hiking trails in Edisto Island?

Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in Edisto Island that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many Edisto Island dog hiking trails have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.

Do Edisto Island dog hiking trails allow multiple dogs?

Yes! Most Edisto Island dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in Edisto Island where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.

Can I use Edisto Island dog hiking trails for special events?

Many Edisto Island dog hiking trails welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with Edisto Island hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual Edisto Island dog hiking trail listings for event policies.

How do Edisto Island dog hiking trails accommodate dogs with special needs?

Edisto Island dog hiking trails are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other Edisto Island special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
