Our pup loved swimming in the pond but it's in a separate fenced in area, so it's easy to prevent your dog from going in. There's a large field with plenty of room to run and bushes and structures to play in. There isn't a ton of shade anywhere, which didn't bother us, but something to keep in mind on really hot days. The dog was able to escape the sun under the structures when she wanted to cool off.
