Amazing 180 panaramic view of wooded area. A top a hill is a flat soccer size field. Surrounded by a rolling hill and smaller flats. Plenty of woods to roam around to investigate. Access to 2 separate small creeks. Recently cut trails through the woods. Presently we are having gate issues. *****You can park completely safe and off-road in front of the gate and walk a few short steps around one of the large stone pillars.****

Tim's 5 Acre Partially Fenced Private Dog Park In Hillsboro

Partially Fenced
5 acres

Partially fenced in yard that’s roughly 3 acres and 2.5 acres of wooded area with the ability to explore and small semi cleared trail. Please make sure your pup is trained for proper recall and staying in the vicinity of you as my property is partially fenced with several areas in the wooded section being barbwired. I do have a 1 year old yellow Labrador if you’re looking for a play pal for your pup provided they aren’t aggressive or have any behavior issues. There is an area I am currently clearing out to become a pond here soon. Well Water hose is available for filling up water bowls. There is a huge hammock available for people to use at their own risk and I do have a firepit that can be used as long as I am contacted first and you bring your own supplies.

Frequently asked questions about O'Fallon dog hiking trails

What do private dog hiking trails in O'Fallon offer that public parks don't?

Private dog hiking trails in O'Fallon offer complete privacy (no other dogs), specialized environments for natural exploration and varied terrain, professionally maintained cleanliness, flexible 24/7 scheduling, and safe spaces for all temperaments—puppies, seniors, small dogs, reactive dogs, or any pup needing accommodations. Public dog parks in O'Fallon can't guarantee any of this. With 8 options, you get predictable, controlled environments perfect for your dog's specific needs.

Can I find fully fenced private dog parks in O'Fallon?

Yes! Most of O'Fallon's 8 private dog parks are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, reactive dogs needing contained space, or small dogs who might squeeze through. O'Fallon listings include fencing photos so you can verify security.

When can puppies start visiting dog hiking trails in O'Fallon?

Puppies can visit O'Fallon dog hiking trails as early as 8-10 weeks with initial vaccinations, much earlier than the 16+ weeks needed for public park safety. This early, controlled socialization prevents fear and reactivity issues later. Plus, puppies can explore natural exploration and varied terrain without being overwhelmed or learning bad behaviors from poorly socialized adult dogs. Many O'Fallon trainers specifically use dog hiking trails for puppy development.

How do I find private dog hiking trails near me in O'Fallon?

Browse O'Fallon's 8 dog hiking trails on Sniffspot by entering your neighborhood or zip code. Filter by distance, then narrow by features: fully fenced, "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, terrain type, or size. Each O'Fallon listing shows photos, reviews, exact location, and instant availability. Local favorite Squirelly Acres is particularly popular among O'Fallon dog owners.

Can I rent dog hiking trails in O'Fallon by the hour?

Yes! All 8 dog hiking trails in O'Fallon are available for hourly rental. Most bookings are 1-2 hours, though you can reserve longer for training or events. Book instantly through Sniffspot, arrive during your time slot, and have complete privacy. Many O'Fallon dog owners rent weekly for consistent, safe exercise.

What's the difference between Sniffspot dog hiking trails and public dog parks in O'Fallon?

The biggest difference is privacy and control. Public dog parks in O'Fallon mean sharing space with unknown dogs and owners. That means you can't control who shows up or how they behave. Sniffspot's 8 O'Fallon dog hiking trails give you private bookings where only your dogs are present. You choose the time, the space, and the environment. Plus, your pup enjoys natural exploration and varied terrain and maintained cleanliness that public parks can't guarantee.

Are there indoor dog hiking trails in O'Fallon?

Yes! O'Fallon has climate-controlled indoor dog hiking trails perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor O'Fallon locations typically feature protective flooring, controlled temperatures, and enclosed environments. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs, reactive dogs, or anyone wanting consistent access regardless of O'Fallon weather. Filter by "indoor" to see options.

How do O'Fallon dog hiking trails help with dog training?

O'Fallon trainers love dog hiking trails because privacy eliminates distractions. Work on recall, practice trail recall in natural environments, leash manners on varied terrain, or hiking endurance building, reinforce obedience, socialize puppies, or address reactivity without interruptions. For reactive dogs, train without trigger-stacking. For puppies, practice skills in controlled increments. For any dog, get focused training time in an environment specifically designed for natural exploration and varied terrain.
