Faux Mountain Views

Unfenced
17 acres

The views are incredible and we call it our Faux Mountains especially with a light fog. You can typically see around 4 miles out across the horizon. Fall leaves will make this a great photo opp for those looking for pet pictures. Over half of a mile of Trails and a couple of small fields focused around the pine trees in a previously logged area. Please do not cross the creeks. We plan to open that area up once we get signage to over a mile of trails. There is a hidden fallen down house can you find it along the trails? please be careful of the main road, and try not to let your dogs run off. During deer season please wear blaze orange or pink. Gravel Parking area is just outside the gate, the single wire electric fence isn't ever on. We hope to improve upon this if it shows popularity. Be mindful of wildlife, farm life, and please keep your dog under control at all times. The drive around the pines is pretty easy walking. The fields may have sticks or stones in them so be mindful of your fur babies feet in those areas. If you head down past the cow waterer you can let your dog get a sip from the creek if need be, but please don't go to the other side yet.

Bear's Creek 13 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Arrington

Unfenced
13 acres

Beautiful isolated 13-acre spot in the country. There is a clear, well-maintained marked trail through the woods to an area with springs, a creek, and a watershed. Moving on down the 1/4 mile driveway past the house is a path down to the Tye River that has a nice-sized riverbank (beach) for romping and water splashing. Swimming dogs can venture onto the rocks to explore the river. Those who want to exercise can hike up/down the stream, climb big rocks, and other obstacles. This highly wooded area has lots to explore “off path” and on path, so you can never experience everything in one visit. This is heaven for dogs and for those who prefer a challenging exploration vs a standard field or yard to explore. The walk to the creek/springs/watershed is a beautiful, relatively easy walk. The river walk, while there is a trail, is pretty steep and rocky, and it's a good workout to get back up. Join us at Bear’s Creek for an adventure your dog will thank you for! Rules for the river: Low tide, all are welcome. High tide, swimmers only, or dogs with excellent recall. Raging River, closed to all. If you're most interested in the river and you know we have had a lot of rain, you can message me prior to booking for river status. If you don’t message me and the river is closed, you will receive a notification.

Collective Spaces Dog Park In Nathalie

Unfenced
203 acres

This is the site of a forming intentional community. We are making it livable one step at a time. We bought the land cleared and in the meantime, use our 200+ acres to host hip camp, make bike trails and kayak out in areas. Attractions: Enter into one of the main parking areas by the house or keep driving! 1/2 mile down the road is another parking area. Keep going on that road and you’ll see a barn. Then, if you eventually curve to the right as you go down hill you might be able to figure out how to get to the big stream. The stream is sandy creek and that leads to the Banister river, which leads to the Dan. In about the middle of that main stretch, there is a road to the left that will bring you to a pond. I take my foxhound dog here while we hike the trails and work on the land. I found her on the side of the highway and found the owner but he didn’t want her back. I was going through a hard time. I did not intend on getting a dog, let alone a former hunting dog with such active needs! She had a lot of issues to figure out. We are both independent creatures which in the beginning was a source of trouble but now is a source of understanding. This land has been a blessing in us finding our balance. I can’t take her most places and let her off leash because her breed habit is to wander. She needs exercise. She has a need to run. She is so happy when we come here. She knows it means freedom. If it wasn’t for places like this, I would have a very frustrated pup! This place has helped us love each other. I hope you can experience the same!

Frequently asked questions about Spout Spring dog hiking trails

What do private dog hiking trails in Spout Spring offer that public parks don't?

Private dog hiking trails in Spout Spring offer complete privacy (no other dogs), specialized environments for natural exploration and varied terrain, professionally maintained cleanliness, flexible 24/7 scheduling, and safe spaces for all temperaments—puppies, seniors, small dogs, reactive dogs, or any pup needing accommodations. Public dog parks in Spout Spring can't guarantee any of this. With 15 options, you get predictable, controlled environments perfect for your dog's specific needs.

Can I find fully fenced private dog parks in Spout Spring?

Yes! Most of Spout Spring's 15 private dog parks are fully fenced. Use the "fully fenced" filter to find secure enclosures with detailed specs: height (4ft, 6ft, 8ft+), material (wood, chain-link, vinyl), and gap information. This is crucial for escape artists, puppies learning boundaries, reactive dogs needing contained space, or small dogs who might squeeze through. Spout Spring listings include fencing photos so you can verify security.

When can puppies start visiting dog hiking trails in Spout Spring?

Puppies can visit Spout Spring dog hiking trails as early as 8-10 weeks with initial vaccinations, much earlier than the 16+ weeks needed for public park safety. This early, controlled socialization prevents fear and reactivity issues later. Plus, puppies can explore natural exploration and varied terrain without being overwhelmed or learning bad behaviors from poorly socialized adult dogs. Many Spout Spring trainers specifically use dog hiking trails for puppy development.

How do I find private dog hiking trails near me in Spout Spring?

Browse Spout Spring's 15 dog hiking trails on Sniffspot by entering your neighborhood or zip code. Filter by distance, then narrow by features: fully fenced, "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, terrain type, or size. Each Spout Spring listing shows photos, reviews, exact location, and instant availability. Local favorite Juno's 40 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Charlottesville is particularly popular among Spout Spring dog owners.

Can I rent dog hiking trails in Spout Spring by the hour?

Yes! All 15 dog hiking trails in Spout Spring are available for hourly rental. Most bookings are 1-2 hours, though you can reserve longer for training or events. Book instantly through Sniffspot, arrive during your time slot, and have complete privacy. Many Spout Spring dog owners rent weekly for consistent, safe exercise.

What's the difference between Sniffspot dog hiking trails and public dog parks in Spout Spring?

The biggest difference is privacy and control. Public dog parks in Spout Spring mean sharing space with unknown dogs and owners. That means you can't control who shows up or how they behave. Sniffspot's 15 Spout Spring dog hiking trails give you private bookings where only your dogs are present. You choose the time, the space, and the environment. Plus, your pup enjoys natural exploration and varied terrain and maintained cleanliness that public parks can't guarantee.

Are there indoor dog hiking trails in Spout Spring?

Yes! Spout Spring has climate-controlled indoor dog hiking trails perfect for extreme weather, rainy days, or year-round exercise. Indoor Spout Spring locations typically feature protective flooring, controlled temperatures, and enclosed environments. They're especially popular for puppy training, senior dogs, reactive dogs, or anyone wanting consistent access regardless of Spout Spring weather. Filter by "indoor" to see options.

How do Spout Spring dog hiking trails help with dog training?

Spout Spring trainers love dog hiking trails because privacy eliminates distractions. Work on recall, practice trail recall in natural environments, leash manners on varied terrain, or hiking endurance building, reinforce obedience, socialize puppies, or address reactivity without interruptions. For reactive dogs, train without trigger-stacking. For puppies, practice skills in controlled increments. For any dog, get focused training time in an environment specifically designed for natural exploration and varied terrain.
