Field & Trees 10 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Homerville

Unfenced
10 acres

We are Dan & Laura. We own 3+ acres of a cleared, mowed grass field area PLUS 7 acres of wooded ‘truck width’ trails. The trails are maintained with our mower, so no or minimal brush on them, making them easy to navigate. They are also color coded marked for ease of sense of direction. These woods are ‘working’ woods, as we harvest fallen trees to use for heat, so it is NOT Metro Park pristine! The trails are dirt, of course, and will be muddy- according to the weather conditions… However…. There always seems to be trails that maintain their drained dryness more than others. Our trails cover the entire perimeter of the property! They weave in and out among themselves! Quite a fun adventure! Pictured are wildlife- however- there is absolutely no guarantee you will see any. We have NO domestic deer like most suburbs do, so there may be NO sightings- just hoof prints. You have access to warm hose water during the cooler/ cold months. You are permitted to smoke and bring a cooler. If bringing kids please let me know. I will try to plant a feather or something for them to ‘find’ - You will pick up a sheet upon arrival, and parking is on site.

This 7 acres features a fully wooded experience with trails, a creek, and plenty of room to run. Private Pond Pooch Paradise

Unfenced
28 acres

Winter conditions as of 2/5/26: about a foot of snow, ground is frozen, no mud, wear boots, dress warm, your dog will love it! Some paths were plowed to knock down the snow height, path in woods plowed. Our property sits 1200+ feet off of the main road and is a total of 28 acres. There are neighboring properties that are 50 acres and 80 acres so no close homes in most directions. We are located approximately 1 mile from West Branch State Park. The property has a clean swimming pond, a walkable forest area with some established trails that are currently covered with leaves. We are a working farm with about 8 acres of crops. There is a large 3 acre wheat field in the front great for ball throwing. The remaining non crop acres are walking paths with some cut grass and yard. We do not have any livestock but our neighbors have cows. There is a secure fence on one side of our property that keeps the cows in their pasture. They’ve never visited us! Neighboring properties are also farms with over 100 acres of open land, woods and crops surrounding our property with no main or visible roads. You can see houses on one side of the property and that’s where the cows live! They have dogs but they’ve never visited us. We do have 2 well behaved German Shorthaired Pointers named River and Remmy who run freely on the property. However we will keep them inside when guests use the property. We have a bench to sit on in a shaded area around the pond for relaxing. The woods are beautiful to walk about as well. There is a large rock in the woods to take a rest on with an amazing ravine creek view. Our property is large and not fenced so dogs with impeccable recall should enjoy the freedom to play, run, swim, sniff and explore. Leashed walks are also welcome. Long leads can also be used. Because we are so far off of any main roads you will feel comfortable here! Your pups are welcome to swim in the pond during your visit. During recent rains our property stays mainly dry and the woods are relatively dry as well as there are many leaves covering the ground. In the winter when the ground is frozen it’s a beautiful walk.

Kaylie's 5 Acre Unfenced Private Dog Park In Spencer

Unfenced
5 acres

Unfenced acreage, pond available for water play, there is a trail (not paved) that goes along the property as well that you could walk. There are domestic and wild animals on the property, it’s your call to leash or to not leash your pet, we are on a major highway road so I would recommend if you off leash your dog that they have good recall skills.

Frequently asked questions about Sugarcreek dog hiking trails

Why are private dog hiking trails better than public dog parks in Sugarcreek?

Private dog hiking trails in Sugarcreek eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Sugarcreek's 12 private dog hiking trails offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.

How safe are Sugarcreek dog hiking trails compared to public dog parks?

Sugarcreek dog hiking trails are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Sugarcreek dog hiking trails eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.

Are Sugarcreek dog hiking trails safe for reactive dogs?

Sugarcreek owners of reactive dogs choose dog hiking trails because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy natural exploration and varied terrain while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Sugarcreek reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.

Can anxious dogs safely use Sugarcreek dog hiking trails?

Yes! Sugarcreek dog hiking trails provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a natural outdoor path where dogs can explore varied terrain off-leash in a safe, private environment at their own pace without stress. Many Sugarcreek dog hiking trails offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.

Are Sugarcreek dog hiking trails good for small dogs?

Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Sugarcreek dog hiking trails because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Sugarcreek avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog hiking trails eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.

Do Sugarcreek dog hiking trails work for senior dogs?

Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Sugarcreek dog hiking trails because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Sugarcreek dog hiking trails with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.

What do Sugarcreek dog owners say about dog hiking trails?

Reviews of Sugarcreek dog hiking trails consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs. Local favorite Private Pond Pooch Paradise is particularly praised in Sugarcreek. Read reviews to see real experiences from Sugarcreek dog owners with similar needs.

How clean and maintained are Sugarcreek dog hiking trails?

Sugarcreek hosts maintain their own dog hiking trails and take pride in providing excellent experiences. All guests must have vaccinated dogs (or titers). Many Sugarcreek hosts provide poop bags, trash cans, and regular cleaning. Reviews highlight maintenance quality—browse Sugarcreek dog hiking trail listings to see real feedback about cleanliness and upkeep.
