55Awesome spot with a scenic looping trail back to a creek for owners and a wide hill next to the parking for fetch. Trails get muddy during the rain so bring towel and tall rubber boots Alex N.

55We joined our human and dog friends for a wonderful playdate. This Spot is pretty far from home for both families, so we reserved a two-hour block. We could have stayed longer. The dogs were in heaven: grass to play ball, wooded paths to explore, a stream to splash in. We even played hide-and-seek a bit, without worrying about our reactive dogs encountering other people or getting into trouble.
We agreed that we would definitely be back!Kim M.

55great place! it was nice to run Biscuit as well as work on training commands. I wanted to test how my dog would be on a trail, and this is the perfect place to work on those skills while being surrounded by nature! Beth S.

55What a spectacular spot! Easy little hike. Dogs were worn out after the first hour. Host was wonderful enough to have started a fire to keep us toasty! So thoughtful! Can't wait to visit again! Jillian M.

55Great hiking 🥾 place to do off leash training. There’s some hike to go up but it keeps the dogs sniffing and moving. I’m directionally challenged so were lost coming back but found our way back plenty of time. The area has a beautiful country side living. Will come again. Kate T.

55Lovely trails and open grassy area for the doggies to play. The dogs loved running up and down the hill and we enjoyed just having the peace of mind know they were in a safe spot to run free. Loved it so much and hope to come back soon Ariella E.

55We had a beautiful peaceful walk here! We enjoyed exploring all the trails and will definitely be back. Mud shoes are required but that goes for any PNW trail this time of year. Sara B.

55Our dog loved this property! Lots of room to run, explore and play fetch! Directions were exact, and everything was clearly marked. There was a sitting area, some toys, poop bags and a trash on site. Would definitely recommend and would come back! Alex S.

14 acre play land for your dog on woods creek | Sniffspot
55We had a wonderful time on our second visit here. The house was great at letting me know that it was really puddly and that the creek was a bit over the banks. We had a wonderful time and the dogs enjoyed splashing in the puddles and running through the woods. Can't wait to visit again. Oh if you have a "wooly" dog check them often for sticks, stickers or brambles in their coats. Tina P.

55First, thank you for the excellent signage. It is always reassuring to know that we are on the correct property. My dogs had such a good time racing around the trails (again clearly marked ) and my retriever loved the little creek. We will be back.Robin S.

55This was an amazing SniffSpot! Loved being able to run around the field before heading up to the trails. Lots of mud but the dogs loved it and got a nice rinse in the little stream after. We did see a man and two kids that were on a walk and the field is completely unfenced. I’m sure this is a rare occurrence but just keep an eye on the road for people walking down. So much room for fetching in the field, we will definitely be back! Sara M.

55This was a great spot, very private and well signed every step of the way. My dogs loved running all the trails and rinsing off in the creek. It was very muddy at places so I was glad I had my wellies. The only downside was a neighbor was doing some target shooting and my dogs were scared by the noise so we left about 10 minutes early. I’m not sure if this is a common practice but something to be aware of if you have a sound sensitive dog. This is a very steep hike which I loved because it felt like we were actually in the mountains but be aware that it was a hard hike and be sure to bring water for yourself and your pups. Jennifer C.

55Great second experience at this spot! Would highly recommend for reactive dogs or any dog that needs space to run and sniff. Perfect to practice recall! It's a 45 min drive for us but so worth it. I would recommend a towel for your pup as there are some streams and mudElise K.

55Fantastic spot! Our favorite so far. It was very private and a beautiful wooded area. It is quite a hill so be prepared but it's not super challenging. We saw a lot of deer tracks. We got to the top and meandered back and it took about 45 minutes. Next time we might book longer and do more exploring. It's easy to stay on the main path and see the no trespassing areas.Vanessa B.

Frequently asked questions about Chemainus dog water parks
Why are private dog water parks better than public dog parks in Chemainus?
Private dog water parks in Chemainus eliminate major public park risks: unpredictable dog encounters that scare puppies, aggressive dogs that trigger reactive behavior, chaotic crowds that overwhelm seniors or small dogs, and disease transmission from dozens of unknown dogs. Chemainus's 5 private dog water parks offer complete privacy, professionally maintained cleanliness, and controlled environments. Whether you have a fearful puppy, a reactive adult, a fragile senior, or simply want peace of mind, private bookings give you control.
How safe are Chemainus dog water parks compared to public dog parks?
Chemainus dog water parks are significantly safer than public facilities. Public dog parks risk: aggressive dogs, inattentive owners, disease transmission, overcrowding that triggers reactive behaviors or injuries. Private Chemainus dog water parks eliminate these concerns—bookings are completely private, all guests have vaccinated dogs (or titers), and hosts maintain clean spaces. 93% of Sniffspot reviews are 5 stars.
Are Chemainus dog water parks safe for reactive dogs?
Chemainus owners of reactive dogs choose dog water parks because they offer safe, private environments for off-leash exercise without the triggers of public dog parks. Complete privacy means no unexpected dog encounters, no overwhelming chaos, no aggressive dogs. Reactive dogs can finally enjoy swimming and water play while building confidence in a controlled setting. Many Chemainus reactive dog owners say Sniffspot is their only safe exercise option.
Can anxious dogs safely use Chemainus dog water parks?
Yes! Chemainus dog water parks provide controlled environments perfect for anxious or fearful dogs. No other dogs means no triggers, no overwhelming situations. Anxious dogs can explore a facility featuring pools, splash pads, or water play areas specifically designed for dogs to swim and cool off at their own pace without stress. Many Chemainus dog water parks offer quiet, spacious settings ideal for building confidence in nervous dogs who struggle at chaotic public dog parks.
Are Chemainus dog water parks good for small dogs?
Absolutely! Small dogs benefit enormously from Chemainus dog water parks because they can explore without fear of being trampled or intimidated by larger breeds. Many small dog owners in Chemainus avoid public parks entirely due to safety concerns—dog water parks eliminate that worry. Filter for appropriate sizing, secure fencing with no gaps, and hosts who understand petite pup needs.
Do Chemainus dog water parks work for senior dogs?
Yes! Senior dogs thrive at Chemainus dog water parks because they can move at their own pace without being knocked over by rambunctious puppies or young dogs. Look for Chemainus dog water parks with flat terrain, easy access, shade, and smaller sizes if your senior has mobility limitations. The privacy means your older dog can rest when needed and enjoy gentle exercise without stress.
What do Chemainus dog owners say about dog water parks?
Reviews of Chemainus dog water parks consistently highlight: excellent privacy for all dog types, secure fencing that prevented escapes, clean and well-maintained spaces, responsive hosts, and safe environments for anxious, fearful, reactive, senior, and small dogs.
