55Herbert was such a kind host! He met us and gave us the lay of the land since it was our first time. With the recent storms, he also advised that the current may be a little too strong for my pup, which I appreciated. The area is beautiful and super well thought out. Hard to believe it’s somebody’s backyard!! My dog was able to swim safely, which he was extremely happy about, and we will certainly have to return! Meagan A.

55Bert hosts such a lovely hidden gem of a spot! We don’t really have anything like this locally & I usually drive so my dogs can visit spots like this one!
I have working dogs & am a dog trainer, so I seek out spots like this regularly. We will definitely be back!
The only thing I will add is if you do plan to go down to the water, don’t be like me and wear slides. You have to walk down a pretty hefty cliff hill and it was not suitable for slides so just wear shoes with more grip and you’ll be fine.
The dogs all loved to get their zooms and swim time in!Lauren H.

55We had such an amazing experience at Herbert’s SniffSpot! The property is absolutely beautiful, well maintained, and the river was such a special touch. Bo had the best time exploring, running, and playing nonstop. He is completely slumped now from all the fun he had and has a bath in his future 😂
You can really tell Herbert takes pride in caring for the property, and we’re so grateful he shares it with other dogs and their owners. It felt peaceful, safe, and like the perfect place for dogs to just be dogs. We truly can’t recommend this spot enough and will definitely be back!Victoria H.

55Visited this spot for the second time this time I brought both of my dogs.
We had a great time, they loved the infinite sticks and the creek.
** Remember when returning to the gate to Leave the SniffSpot— Leave the same way you came into the woods.
I made the mistake of choosing a middle pathway to get to the gate and ended up trapped on the neighbors property and had to walk back the correct way. Joy C.

55This is a fun adventure for the doggies!
With that being said — If your balance, ankles, knees, hips or eyes are not at 100% rethink this spot!
The owner will let you know that after a rain it’s slippery/muddy but I suggest getting a walking stick or grabbing a sturdy branch to help yourself on the trek. (If you see a log/trunk don’t try to walk across it. Crawl or bear hug it if you must)
Definitely bring bug spray, wear a backpack, fanny pack or zippable pockets for your belongings like keys and cell phone.
This is a very interactive spot!
I came here to build my 5yr old dog’s confidence because he is afraid of everything and anxious and he became so confident as soon as he hit the trail.
The creek is great, if your dog loves sticks he will have the time of his life like mine did. I brought a water dish but never needed it because my dog drank from the creek. This was his first time ever being in a body of water outside of a few inches in the bathtub. Awesome new experience.
This place is great 👍
This is a one of a kind sniff spot in Clarksville! And the owner is very thoughtful and informative.

55Great place to take your dog for a swim. Offers seclusion and a creek that has constant flow. The bank is very muddy and slick so be careful. I recommend wearing water shoes or shoes you don’t care if they get wet. Our lab swam for nearly 2 hours. Great place. I will go back. Terrence W.

Real-time availability shows on each listing—perfect for last-minute training or when routines get disrupted.
What's the best time to visit dog hiking trails in Clarksville?
Any time works since bookings are private! Unlike public dog parks in Clarksville that are crowded during peak hours (mornings, evenings, weekends), you don't worry about timing. Book when it fits YOUR schedule—midday when it's quiet, dawn for cool weather, late evening for convenience. Many Clarksville dog hiking trails have lighting for after-dark visits. This flexibility is perfect for shift workers or dogs with special needs.
Do Clarksville dog hiking trails allow multiple dogs?
Yes! Most Clarksville dog hiking trails welcome multiple dogs from the same household. Some hosts set limits (check listings), but generally you can bring your whole pack. This is perfect for multi-dog households in Clarksville where some dogs are selective—they can play together privately without outside interference. Great for sibling bonding or families with mixed ages/temperaments.
Can I use Clarksville dog hiking trails for special events?
Many Clarksville dog hiking trails welcome doggy birthday parties, training workshops, breed meetups, or group playdates. Private bookings mean your event won't be interrupted. Coordinate with Clarksville hosts about capacity, amenities (parking, shade, water), and any restrictions. Some even provide party extras. Check individual Clarksville dog hiking trail listings for event policies.
How do Clarksville dog hiking trails accommodate dogs with special needs?
Clarksville dog hiking trails are excellent for special needs dogs because you can filter for specific requirements: flat terrain for mobility issues, secure fencing for blind/deaf dogs, quiet locations for anxious dogs, small spaces for seniors, or maximum privacy for reactive dogs. Read reviews from other Clarksville special-needs dog owners, and contact hosts with questions. The private setting means you can adapt the experience to your dog's unique requirements.
