Got a dog who thinks a walk around the block is just the warm-up? Welcome to our little piece of Khaos in Pierson. 🐾 Our three-acre play area has room to run, sniff, and explore beneath the oak trees. The agility setup is already in place: jumps, a tunnel, tires, a balance plank, a raised platform, and wood piles for dogs to investigate and work around. We’re still adding to it, but my Belgian Malinois have been happily putting the current setup through its paces. For tracking or hiking practice, we also have two additional acres of natural, undeveloped woods. The wooded area is not fenced, so dogs need to remain under their handler’s control there. The main area has four-board wooden ranch fencing with openings between the rails. Please check the fence photos to decide whether it suits your dog, particularly if they’re small or inclined to slip through gaps. Our horses live in separate pastures and are loving around dogs. Before letting your dog off leash, please be certain they won’t chase, lunge at, or try to get through the fence to the horses. If you’re unsure how your dog will react, keep them leashed and away from the pasture boundaries. My horses deserve to feel safe on their own property, too. There’s a trampoline for dogs, a separate trampoline and swing for kids, and lights for evening visits. Bring the dog with energy to burn. We know the type. 🐾

Because of that, my goal was to create a safe, welcoming environment where dogs can truly be dogs. Our yard is thoughtfully designed to support nose work and enrichment, using dog-safe plants and scent containers that are rotated and refreshed regularly. The space already includes a variety of toys and enrichment activities for dogs to enjoy. At this time, there is an area where dogs may naturally dig and play, which is perfectly fine while ongoing improvements continue. A water hose is available inside the yard, and a dog pool is available for guest use. Guests may fill the pool as needed during their visit. If used, please drain, rinse, and lightly spray it, so it is ready for the next guest. For hygiene reasons, guests are kindly asked to bring their own water bowls. Bringing your own helps ensure cleanliness and allows each dog to use familiar items, especially since the host is not always present to sanitize shared equipment between visits. With the continued support of our guest community, additional amenities may be added or rotated —particularly to enhance comfort during very hot or very cold days.
