This occurs during the spring thaw and/or after a heavy rain. As such, some guests recommend keeping a pair of rainboots or beach footwear. Your dogs can play in or around it if they want, and it's entirely up to you. While there are no potential hazards, there are mosquiitoes that a bite can cause allergies to some. Mosquitoes are most active between dusk and dawn, specifically around sunrise and sunset. In the Markham area, peak mosquito season runs from May through September, with activity increasing dramatically on warm, humid days when temperatures exceed 10°C
