There’s a cleared trail through the woods that is marked with green reflective arrows beginning at the back corner of the pond. Our property line is marked by a stone wall, so as long as you stay on our side of the wall, you’re good to go. 🪨🌿 🚫 No-Roam Zones: While exploring, please keep curious noses away from the tasty snacks in the garden 🥕 and the area immediately around the house. 🏡 🎾 Don’t forget to grab the Chuckit! or any other essentials you may need from our Borrow Bin in the Parking Area. Welcome to The Vista, a 30-acre outdoor space, with 15 acres for dogs and owners to enjoy. The area includes three main sections: an open field, a pond, and hiking trails. While there are no visible animals or pets on the higher levels, neighbor dogs may occasionally be visible at a distance from the lower areas. Wildlife is active and may cross your path—please avoid interaction when possible. This is an unfenced, off-leash location, and we cannot be held liable for dogs who are escape artists! Our pond spans 20 feet across and over 20 feet deep, with an almost immediate drop-off when stepping in. The pond is spring-fed and stocked, so feel free to swim, fish, or float during your visit (anytime between June and November). There is no electricity or formal structure, but you are welcome to set up a tent or umbrella for shade. This is a carry in–carry out site, so please leave no trace behind, including your trash. For twice the fun with your furry friend, consider upgrading to camp overnight! A porta potty is onsite, but there is no water or electricity available. Please note that security video surveillance is in place for safety. **A kennel club uses the lower field on Wednesday nights and Saturdays 10-5. There WILL be dogs within view, at a distance, during these times**

I also print out a list of local dog friendly eateries as well as other small cafes and shops locally! I provide a garden hose to rinse your pup off if they get a little muddy! We are a family owned beef producer on 124 acres in Fort Edward, NY and would like to share our fields with you and your dog(s)! Enjoy private, mowed paths while the hay is growing, or a completely open field that’s great for frisbee when it’s cut! This setting is perfect for a leisurely walk/run, photo opportunities in the grass/wildflowers or with the three large oak trees as a backdrop! We often share our fields with all sorts of wildlife including Bald Eagles, Osprey, geese, pheasants, deer, owls, hawks, song birds of all varieties and the occasional partridge! If your dog likes to swim after a walk, there is a swimming spot near the Dead Creek bridge! Parking is on our 1st field road right after the Dead Creek bridge, and is directly off County Route 46. The parking area is marked in the photos. **We ask that you please park near the road and do not drive down the field road when it’s wet. Please stay on the field road and do not drive in the hay fields. Thank you! **The east portion of the field does have a paddock of hot electric fence- it is easy to see the wire and posts. We do have beef cows/calves that are sometimes near the fence line- they are friendly and used to dogs; however, we strongly discourage attempting to pet them, feed them, or allowing dogs to get too close to them or the fence.
