2/3 Acre Fully Fenced Private Dog Agility field

Fully Fenced
0.5 acres

Our Sniffspot is located on a quiet dead end in the back of Montara, CA. It is fully fenced. It contains 2 fields, a lower and upper, both suitable for use. I will have agility courses set up a portion of the time. Please do not move equipment if there is a numbered course set up. You are free to use tunnels and jumps, but please be careful on the contact obstacles if they are set up. Please watch your dogs and do not allow them to mark the obstacles, tunnels, jumps or weave poles. If they do, can you kindly rinse with the watering can. Do not place any human items or treats on the dog walk. Do not rest or lean on the dog walk. It is an expensive piece of equipment, not a table. Note: there are chickens and horses next door at times, please do not allow your dogs to bark or charge the fence at them. Also, do not let your dogs repeatedly run up to the horses if they are near the fence, and potentially scare them. They are not as visible from the lower field. I have an older dog that sometimes barks from inside the house but she is not visible. Thanks for exploring our Sniffspot!

55This was a fun spot for our pup to run around! I think next time I’d like to bring him a friend. Really beautiful views as well! I think most people would get it but we didn’t figure out that you need to press “#” before you put the code in for the gate to open. This was clear from Zerina’s instructions, we were just a bit frazzled because our cell phones didn’t have service when we got to the gate so we couldn’t check the number. Luckily there was someone there to help us out. (Worth being aware that service does cut out when driving to places in the Santa Cruz mountains if you have AT&T. I’ve heard Verizon is fine.)

55I had been looking for a spot like this and my dog loved it! He loves to sniff and walk on and on so regular backyards aren’t for us. We were there for an hour and did the loop 3 times 😅 it wasn’t hard for us and we’re not casual hikers

55Beautiful, wild, and wonderful space to hike around with the dogs! They had so much to sniff and explore, and there was plenty of room to run and play. It was also very clean. Hostess was responsive and easy to communicate with! When we’re back in the area, will visit again.

55This place was perfect for an introduction to off leash trail recall for our 7 month old pup, who doesn’t get a lot of off leash opportunities in the city, struggles with being overstimulated by most busy dog parks, and had parents who were nervous about unfenced and out of sight pups after a scary experience with a previous dog elsewhere. 10/10. She had so much fun exploring the variety of shrubs, textures (she loveddddd the deep pine needle beds), and watching the crazy sounding (to her) birds and turkeys. There’s a small bench for humans, and a rogue plastic Adirondack chair next to a stump for the humans. Will definitely be back. For the commenters who read about terrain difficulty, I found it pretty dang easy if you are a casual but semi regular hiker…. I had forgotten my hikers and did fine enough in Birkenstocks, though the pine needle beds were a bit slippery. To be honest, I don’t think hiking boots would have helped on steep sections covered by the needles, but they’re easy to avoid if you prefer! Also, at least when we went (mid Nov) we didn’t run into any burrs. Everything there we checked was soft and didn’t really stick in our dogs fur — huge win!

55This is such a fantastic spot! Host is communicative and friendly, and there are paths everywhere to explore with your dog. An hour isn’t enough! Absolutely loved it and Molly was worn out. Word of advice - you’ll need a code to access the road to get to this spot, so make sure you record it before you get on the road as the cell service (Verizon) isn’t very good.

55We loved this Sniffspot! The Host was very responsive and friendly, and it’s very easy to get to. It’s a serene, gorgeous spot with a beautiful view. It has a short loop with a single-file trail that we walked around a few times during our visit while our dogs ran all over, and a beautiful handmade bench to sit for a few minutes and enjoy the view. There are a couple of fairly steep spots, but they are short and the Host had hiking poles for us to use. We didn’t end up needing them and my partner was fine in his tennis shoes. They also had a clean water bowl for the dogs and the entire spot is fenced. We have two dog-reactive dogs and there aren’t many places we can take them off-leash. They were so happy here! She was very accommodating by keeping her dog inside during our visit. We neither heard nor saw any other people or dogs. I highly recommend this spot!

55The place is most hills, but there is a small trail to explore the entire space with very nice views. Our dogs really enjoyed running up and down.

55This place is amazing! So much space to run and sniff!! Really nice drive up there, and honestly feels like a “real” hike. Zerina was quick to respond to questions, and the directions were nice and clear. I agree with one of the reviews that most of the “trails” are uphill, not too many flat areas, but not too bad. Something to think about if you or your pups have a hard time going uphill. Other that that, we will def be back! Thanks so much for sharing this place 🫶🏻

55Very pretty location with trails to explore. Not a lot of large flat areas (unless we missed a corner) if that's something you need, mainly narrow trails climbing the hillside.

Frequently asked questions about Los Gatos dog fields

Where can I find dog fields in Los Gatos?

Los Gatos has 58 private dog fields available through Sniffspot, offering full-speed running and fetch in completely private settings. These locations range from compact spaces to properties spanning 40+ acres. Whether you need a space for your reactive dog, puppy socialization, senior dog gentle exercise, or high-energy play, Los Gatos dog fields provide safe, private environments. Filter for "fewer dogs seen/heard," specific amenities, or fencing types to find your perfect match.

How many dog fields are in Los Gatos?

Los Gatos offers 58 dog fields ranging from compact spaces to properties spanning acres. You'll find options such as dog hiking trail, fully fenced dog park, dog agility park, and more. Each Los Gatos dog field listing shows detailed photos, amenities, fencing specs, and reviews from local dog owners.

Are Los Gatos dog fields good for all dog types?

Yes! Los Gatos dog fields work for every dog: puppies learning socialization, senior dogs needing gentle exercise, small dogs who feel safer without large breeds, high-energy dogs requiring space, and reactive or anxious dogs needing privacy. The completely private bookings mean each dog gets the environment they need. Browse Los Gatos's 58 options to find spaces matching your dog's specific temperament and needs.

Will I encounter other dogs at Los Gatos dog fields?

Not a chance. Los Gatos dog fields operate on a strict one-booking-at-a-time system, so the space is entirely yours during your reserved slot. Host dogs are kept away, and there's a mandatory 30-minute buffer between bookings—meaning you won't cross paths with the previous or next guest. For Los Gatos owners with reactive dogs, puppies, or any dog needing privacy, this makes all the difference in providing safe, stress-free exercise.

Are Los Gatos dog fields safe for fearful or anxious dogs?

Yes! Los Gatos dog fields provide controlled, predictable environments without the chaos of public dog parks. Since bookings are completely private with 30-minute buffers, anxious dogs can explore a large, open grass area where dogs can run at full speed and play fetch without overwhelming encounters. Many Los Gatos dog owners specifically choose dog fields for fearful dogs who need gentle, stress-free exercise environments.

Can puppies use Los Gatos dog fields?

Absolutely! Los Gatos dog fields are excellent for puppy socialization because they're private and controlled. Puppies can explore a large, open grass area where dogs can run at full speed and play fetch, practice recall, and build confidence without the overwhelming chaos that can create fear or reactivity in young dogs. Just ensure your puppy has age-appropriate vaccinations before visiting.

How do I choose the best dog field in Los Gatos?

Start by filtering Los Gatos's 58 dog fields for your specific needs: secure fencing for escape artists, "fewer dogs seen/heard" for reactive dogs, flat terrain for seniors, appropriate sizing for small dogs, or specific amenities for training. Look for "Top Spots" like Los Gatos's Hillside meadow with excellent reviews.Read feedback from other Los Gatos owners with similar dog types to find your perfect match.

What are Los Gatos's dog field requirements?

All dogs must have basic vaccinations or titers. Each Los Gatos host may have additional rules on their listing. Most dog fields welcome all breeds, sizes, and temperament levels, including reactive dogs who can't safely visit public dog parks. Adult supervision is required at all times.
