55Nice big open space for Gracie (our pit bull mix breed) who is 1 year and 3.5 weeks old today.
The host was kind enough to open the gate for us. I had missed the house number and turned into wrong lot so had to turn around and that’s when they flagged me down to show me where to pull into.
There’s a shaded area for us humans to watch our dog from, and there is water there under the same area.
I don’t think Gracie knew what to do with all the open space because she’s so used to being confined to the home so I would say this was a treat for her / to be outside and to be able to run and smell and discover whatever her nose led her to.
Gracie was very relaxed and I did confirm with the host to see if there would be other dogs scheduled at the same time (which I was concerned about since we are still trying to train her in the basics) and they had said no and so we had the entire 2 acres to ourselves.
One hour flew by pretty quickly and I think Gracie was tired half way through, as evidenced by her just laying in the shade instead of running around.
It was a warm day so maybe that had an effect on her not wanting to run around as much as I thought she would.
I think all dogs that are new to any new area will be cautious at first before they allow themselves to feel safe and to roam around.
This is a safe space for big dogs like Gracie, and it’s fenced off so you don’t have to worry about losing her.
I highly recommend this spot if you have dogs that just need that open space to run and get their energy out.
There was a blue ball that I found that Gracie loved to chase after - that was really the only time I could get her to run by triggering her instinct to chase after something.
It’s also a beautiful location.
We will try to come back and a schedule something maybe later in the day when it isn’t so warm to see if she responds better or maybe we need to take her early in the morning.
This is my first experience with this app as it was recommended by our dog trainer - Penny Locke.
She said we need to work on Gracie’s basics first before we introduce her to the world as she is a rescue animal that we adopted from the humane society. Vinh N.

55Our 2nd visit & it was just as awesome as our 1st. Big, flat area to park - Easy to get in & out. It was mowed & clean. There is a sweet little shaded sitting area with the loveliest view, big box ‘o dog toys & water for the pups. Our time was very enjoyable & we got some great new pictures of our pups amidst the little yellow dandelions. Kat F.

55This spot was awesome! Super easy to find and park. The space was just as described and my pups loved it! There were many balls and a ball thrower that one of my dogs greatly appreciated. The space was super wide opened, great for my other dog that can run all day long and we even got to say hi to one of the horses near by. This is a great spot and will definitely be back!Luana A.

55If I could give this 10 stars, I would! Lots of trees and an absolutely HUGE lawn with thick-cool-green-grass: Not so easy to find these days. With a fully fenced & secure 3.5 acres this is pure pup paradise!!! Heidi, our host, was friendly, helpful and very responsive. She met us at the gate, gave us a quick tour of toys, treats, poop bags, water stations & sitting areas. Then me & my three were off!
I’ve been on the fence about buying a Sniff-spot membership but I’m quite sure, that unless I do, I will never get a time slot here once word gets out. This will definitely be our ‘go to’ snifferoo!!!!

55Beautiful brand new spot! We had a wonderful time this evening and were so glad to see this sniffspot open.
There is a ton of space to sniff and run. We especially liked the irrigated lawn - our dogs haven't been on real green grass in a few months and were absolutely thrilled to roll in it. There are a few water stations set up and some snacks. There is some seating available around the yard.
Heidi, the host, is very friendly and welcoming. She gave us a little tour when we arrived. There are canine hosts on the property but we neither heard nor saw them. Our dogs left them lots of happy pee-mails to catch up on, though.
Fence is very tall and looks secure. No barbed wire or loose parts that I was able to see.
At one part of the property you can see some livestock (goats) and we were greeted by them parking on the road. Not a problem and easy to stay out of line of sight. Heather W.

FAQ about our Lower Lake dog parks
Are dog parks good for dogs?
It is important for dogs to have off leash exercise to sniff and run. But the free and open nature of public dog parks has drawbacks. There could be aggressive dogs, disease transmission and cleanliness issues. For this reason, many dog behaviorists discourage visiting public dog parks and recommend Sniffspot's private dog parks. Sniffspot private dog parks only allow one guest to book at a time and are not open to the public, which solves many of these issues.
Are dog parks safe?
While public dog parks have a number of safety issues, such as aggressive dogs, disease transmission and general cleanliness, Sniffspot dog parks much safer than public dog parks. With Sniffspot all bookings are private for just you and dogs you bring with you and we require all dogs to be vaccinated (or have equivalent titers). All Sniffspot locations are vetted and reviewed by guests so you can find the perfect place for you and your dog. 97% of reviews on Sniffspot visits in the Lower Lake area are 5 stars.
How do I know if a dog park works for my dog?
You can filter Sniffspot dog parks by fencing and distractions. If your dog doesn't have good recall, you can visit one of our 32 fully fenced dog parks in the area. If your dog is reactive to other dogs, you can visit one of our 3 off leash areas where there are no dogs audible or visible nearby. You can also filter locations to avoid other domestic animals and people. We also recommend reading reviews and reaching out to the host with any questions.
Sniffspot has 32 fully fenced dog parks in or near Lower Lake. Browse all fully enclosed options.
Where are good dog hiking trails near Lower Lake?
The Lower Lake area has 2 Sniffspot locations with private trails for you and your dog to walk or hike. Dogs can generally be off leash on Sniffspot trails. The most popular trail is Nick's Private Dog Park In Kelseyville.
